In the Bigger Guild im in as some of the others here that Guilds newsletter gets sent out once a week, i think that would work if we all pitch in ect

X3 oo oo what about a funny image or a comic in the news letter owo.
Or maybe even movie and game reviews.....nah maybe not.
Ooo oo what about an advice column! That would be cool owo. Sorta like dear abby.
*looks up at what she just typed* Wow...for me to say so much I didn't come up with anything orginal....except....
I say that we post a question on the site each time the letter comes out, asking a question that can only be answered by reading the newsletter.
First....lets say 10-15 people get it right get there name entered in a drawing for a item.
whee Then again maybe not.

I can be "link police", lol, if you decide you want to do links to stuff in the newsletter. whee *merrily cuts and pastes links*
IF this comes to fruition (a big honkin' awesome newsletter), then maybe there could be a thread in the "Media" subforum to organize it.
Of course, Rosie--this is your baby, so we all just kinda going bonkers here, lol!

One idea is "reporters" take a section ..... need to decide on sections LOL and do your part then they all get put them all together in the Newsletter

I think it would work better if people had certain sections to work on and got there section done by a certain date to all come together to look it over and that. I think bi-weekly would work and not bee too much. I like the joke idea and the contest about reading the newsletter and answering a question about it, but my concern is what about if we are not able to get on to read it and miss the contests. I am not able to sign on a lot lately because of trying to focus on school and other issues in my life right now, but I feel like I am rambling, so I will stop and if anyone has any questions or I can help in any way please let me know.
I do love the idea of having a newsletter and think it will be easier to keep up with things that are going on with the guild smile

hmmmm well the only thing I'm really good at is find quirky funny pictures, I know alot about anime/manga/video games....and I know alot about myths. owo Not sure that counts as reporter material.

well i dont know what kind of story could you write or a review? but who besides you and me is addicted to anime LMAO ... a weekly funny picture would be interesting ..OH OH OH we could make it a contest? take a picture (do you use photobucket? ) and distort it and whoever figures out FIRST what it was before it was distorted wins a mention in the next newsletter? and/or maybe a small prize ...but if it was a prize it would have to be inexpensive but cute/funny what do you think?

I do use photobucket owo. That would be really cool! Love the idea ^w^ Ooo I gots an idea! We could also make a image caption contest! owo Or maybe thats to many contests....hmm. That way our non-anime fan friends could still take part. I'd love to write reviews...but I'd totally need someone to proof read em for me (cause I have the grammer of a small hamster owo).

since everyone seems to want to be involved which is FANTASTIC!! if you have an idea or two or three you need to choose one and put the others up for someone else to do ...but this is all still up in the air it all depends ...

Veranuem Oops, I'm sooo sorry Rosie, I sent my suggestions to you in reply to the newsletter instead of posting them here... umm, here they are, I will try to be a little more attentive next time redface Anyways, OOO WE HAVE A NEWSLETTER!!! W00t! It's awesome, Rosie, great idea for organization! There is a little bit of punctuation missing, but I have a little OCD and I think I'm the only one who's finicky enough to notice that stuff, LOL. So you did a great job, congrats! I hope there is another newsletter in awhile... mrgreen Would you like an editor if there is another newsletter next time? I would love to help! PM me about it if you want biggrin
Punctuation is a HUGE HUGE problem for me. I tend to lean more towards run on sentences LOL

Oo same. Run on sentences and bad spelling...the list of how bad I suck with grammar goes on and on.
A caption contest is where we take a random image of...well whatever...and have the readers send in what they think the character(s) or a narrator might be saying in/about the image.
We then...some how pick a winner for the contest.
I'm not sure how the judging would go about though.

A caption contest! How fun--I really like that! Winner....hmmmm--well, it could just be voting by poll, like with the avi contest. You could post the pic in a newsletter, receive captions for it (however long you want)--then in the next newsletter, you could post the pic again(along with the new pic for captions) with all of the captions ppl. pm'd, and give each a number. Then put up a poll with each number for voting--winners announced in the next newsletter. That may be a lousy idea, but it came to mind.... whee
Another idea too--creatinga thread in the Media subforum dedicated to the guild newsletter--all the brainstorming could be done there amongst the "editors".
