Be sure to call me when you are ready for Disneyland. I live maybe 5 blocks down the street...

YAY! That may actually be in the next year or two. We're supposed to be going to WDW with the whole family again next May, but if it falls through, Dani and I are going to DLR instead.

i didn't mention travel before, but fawN in particular reminded me.

i'd love to visit Hawaii and New Zealand.
they both have that amazing volcanic scenery.
and there's the black Hawaiian beaches, i visited a black beack at El Golfo in Lanzarote, the sand is full of fragments of a pale green semi-precious stone too, i brought lots of pieces home with me.

this is El Golfo, it's half a volcanic crater, the other half collapsed into the sea, the green lagoon is that colour from algae living in it, it's incredibly deep, with subterranean links to the sea, it's also protected so you can't swim in it.
Lanzarote is a beautiful island, like nothing i've seen before, there's no water on the island at all, i think up to 80% of the land is covered in lava flows, there's a restaurant in the national park where they barbeque over a volcanic vent! it's a good 8 feet across and the heat beating up out of it is scary. the chefs stand on heat proof plates in the floor so they don't burn their feet.

these rings are built from the lava rock, grape vines are planted in them, as there's no irrigation, the islanders rely on condensation collected within these bowls to keep the vines alive.
i seem to have wandered off course a little here don't i? now where was i biggrin

i'd like to go to Italy, i stayed on the Adriatic coast when i went with my Mum in 1980

what an adorable child huh??
i had a lovely tan though biggrin
i'd love to visit sorrento, some much loveliness in one place!

even if it is just across the Bay of Naples from Vesuvius..

and i still have my dream of living in San Francisco one day.

heart ~ I would love to be a published author... the kind whose 'next' book is eagerly anticipated!

heart ~ I would love to get back down to a 12! I hope I am not to old to manage it, cause I surely am experienced enough to appreciate it!

heart ~ I would love to see the UK. Every one of those countries has at least one aspect that draws me.

heart ~ I would love to finally get this long list of home improvements pared down quite a bit.

heart ~ I would love to come up with a painless way to bring in extra money from home... I have the staying home part mastered, but the money would sure help with the list of home improvements!

heart ~ I would LOVE to see New Orleans restored to it's former (or better) glory. So far it is the most interesting and beautiful place I had seen in my life, and the devastation there in this short time is just heart breaking for me to see.

you have some nice dreams Lizzy, i wish i had creative talent.
i too would love to be able to write a book, it would be a book full of love and happiness that would make you laugh and cry and give you a warm glow inside, i'd like to be able to illustrate it myself too.
i have a mental image of someone reading it..
it's a typical November day in Britain, dark, grey, windy, the rain is beating against the window, but take a peek through the window.. you're looking into someone's living room. It's cosy, there's a log fire burning in the grate, with a cat curled up, asleep, infront of it. A lady sits in a big, squishy red armchair, feet tucked up beneath her. she has a gently steaming mug of tea on the table beside her but it's growing cold. She's forgotten about it, so immersed is she in my lovely book. As she sits with the book open in her lap i see a golden glow eminating from it, bathing her face in literary sunlight.

bit fanciful i know, but isn't that what dreams are all about??

I've tackled cooking and created some great meals which I'm proud of, and have learned to cook a lot of the things I love to eat. I want to learn to cook more things, like my mom's Hot and Sour soup, which far outdoes that of ANY restaurant, and make potstickers by myself.

I've started doing Yoga and Pilates, which is something my back can handle and it's making me feel good. I also want to learn my mom's Tai-Chi.

I've started learning more about graphics and html, and want to continue to learn more, starting with the rest of the WebTech U classes.

I've started going after my dreams!! Starting today, I'm meeting up with my mom 3 times a week to learn her Tai-Chi (for those who don't know, it's a Chinese art form of dance/martial arts/mind-body balance.)

And this Friday we're meeting up to make Potstickers and Hot and Sour Soup together, and I'm going to write it down this time!

I'm halfway through my second WebTech U class and really enjoying it! I wish this instructor would respond to my homework as quickly as the last one so I could work on my next lesson!

FawN, does it take a long time for the lessons? I'm just curious as to how long it will take so I can work it into my schedule someday.

It doesn't take very long! The 2 weeks they give you is really plenty! The first PSP class had 4 lessons and a final, and I really could have finished it all in a week. Some lessons were quick and easy and took me like 30 minutes. Others took a little longer, but can still be done at a sitting, usually. Well, depending on how long you like to sit without breaks..

The HTML 101 class has been cake so far, but I've still learned a good deal of new stuff I didn't know before. This class has 5 lessons and a final, and I'm waiting to be emailed lesson 4. I have until the 15th to finish it all, and it's plenty of time! smile

~ Another nice thing about web tech U and the time allotted is that you do it and respond at a time good for you. I really liked that I was working full time 4 am to noon plus studying electronics at CCSN when I took the classes but managed to work them in no problem, especially since they were so fun rofl
I still have the web page with assignements posted on it (we're talking 2001) and have every intention of going though the PSP classes from scratch as soon as I break down and buy PSP 9. HTML has stayed with me much better, but I do want to move along to some of their higher levels in that, as well. I was really tickled to see how far smilesnz has taken it as I recommended them when she was looking almost 2 years ago heart
