Know what we could use?
An advice for newbies thread.
I for one know how hard it is to find tips and advice on my own, especially ones regarding mental health and other things that are not necessarily physical.
I'm pretty sure everyone here would have something to contribute and suggest to the guys just coming out as trans.
Unless there's already one and I can't find it oO;;

I'm only 14, yet I want to wear a binder. So far, my mom has not consented with me feeling more as a guy. How can I wear a binder (and purchase one XD) without letting my mom know?

you could have a friend buy it for you pick it up at their place and pay them back later.

I'm 15 turning 16 summer solstice and I want to get top surgery done. I know I need to be seeing a gender specialist and probably need to get a letter of recommendation to get the surgery done. I know with my chest size I would have the peri areola/keyhole procedure done. I have a few questions:
How expensive are gender specialist therapists or therapists in general? With parent's consent, of course, in California can a 16 year or 17 year old get this surgery done? Thirdly, approximately how much does the operation cost including tax and anesthetics? If you can't answer any of these questions yourself but you can tell me where to find this information, please do. Thankx in advance.

Those are the prices I have seen. For everything else...I have no idea. Everybody wants to be somebody…

Damn, I was hoping it wouldn't be 5k. I also have some more questions concerning that:
Do you lose sensation in your nipples? If so, can you have them only cut around have of your nipples to keep some of the sensation in them, sacrificing n****e resizing? (Is it possible to keep sensation if they cut around half of the nipples?)

(Is it possible to keep sensation if they cut around half of the nipples?) it depends on the procedure done, the size you are breast size and how your body heals. you can have full, partial, or no sensation in that area after it all heals fully. it would be best to consult a surgon with these questions or another guy who had top surgery.

I've only had a breast REDUCTION done so far and if your breasts were big enough to be effecting your health it would be covered by ohip [atleast in Canada :/] they cut around my nipples and I have almost no sensation in them at all anymore [though they werent crazy sensitive before either...] but sometimes there'd be a dull pain in them for no reason[it hurt alot but not like... stabbing pain] it stops happening after 6 months. I've also heard though that its possible to re-gain sensation later [as things heal] so there really isnt a sure-fire way to know if you'll keep all sensation or loose it.

It's a good idea to start trying to live as close to full time as you can manage as generally you need a year of RLT for surgery. you can start living full time on your own whenever and you will likely get credit for it from a gender specialist. It generally takes at least three months with a gender specialist to get a letter, usually longer. If you live near a major trans surgery city, like San Fransisco, you may be able to get cheap, sliding scale therapy, but really your results may vary there.

Doesn anyone know anything about Zink? I know that it increases testostrone in male bodies, but does it do the same in female bodies?
