Nairandi was waiting in the Rider's Keep. It was the main hall where the Riders talked, held meetings, and ate occasionally. Alquas was out flying over the city as he normally did when he became impatient or felt cooped up. The two were supposed to head back to Ellesmera soon. They loved it there. Illirea was pleasant, but very busy with human, dwarf, and elf trafic alike.

He was still here because he was waiting to hear from one of his pupils, Dion. He could, however, feel Dion's presence coming. Good. Then Ellesemera would be jsut a quick day away.

The elder Rider stood and repeated finished the greeting. "Dion. I must hear what has been going on. Alquas and I are to return to Ellesmera if there should be nothing else that would cause us to tarry. I do hope all is well." Nairandi said with a small smile. He was proud of his pupil of course, but that wasn't the only reason. Now that he was finished training Riders for a time he could remain longer in his beloved forest.

He was a little worried about those four deserters, but so far they had done next to nothing. He didn't suspect thier leader would come back even if the others did. Their youth was driving thier ignorance. Their patience would not last he thought. At least three of their's wouldn't. And, since they weren't doing much of anything, the Order of Riders could take their time hunting them down.

Zekk finished his meal. 'Now what do I do?" he thought. 'Well can't now till I get out.' Getting up he walked over to the door and opened it. Reaching over he grabbed his lockpick. Yawning he closed the door behind him. As he walked out into the street h streched his back. 'Well the place where people pay the least attention is the bar so thats where I should head over to.' he thought to himself. Looking over he saw the riders tower. 'On the other hand I can look for worj the riders can't do without looking bad.' he tought a smile crossing his face as he changed direction towards the riders tower.

"When do we leave Ebrithil" Asked Dion.
"I shall need time to gather my equipment and store energy in Kveykva's diamond" explained Dion.(Kveykva is the name of Dion's greatsword and much like brisingr will burst into lightning when its name is spoken)
shall we leave tommorow afternoon?

"I suppose we will leave in tommarrow. Just after daybreak. I don't expect trouble for that day and maybe not even the next so between then and tonight Kveyka should get plenty of energy." Nairandi stated. He himself put energy into a few different gems each day, and had been doing so for a number of years. Leaving tommarrow would also allow him to get a fewthings done before departure. The Riders themselves could not take time to patrolt he streets and cities twenty-four seven. Usually elves helped and contacted them. They were a police force of sorts. As it were people had to have been turned against the Riders otherwise Shades would not have been created. So, the 'police' must not have doing a thorough enough job. Maybe leaving smaller villages alone. They needed someone else. He had to find a spy.

Hold that thought. Someone had just entered the tower. He was neither of the Order, a student, or an official. Nairandi made it a point not to pry into people's heads, but merely acknowlede their presence. Rather than withdrawing into himself he kept his mind open. "Dion. Someone has just arrived in the tower. Its most likely a townsperson with a discrepancy. If, before you go to prepare, you could bring him here; it would be much appreciated."

"Wait." Zekk said going stiff his hands going for the blades hiddin under his shirt. "Im here seeking employment. Sure;y even the riders have jobs that they can't do without looking bad or go without being noticed." he said.

"I will follow." Zekk said as he fell into step behind Dion. 'I'd have to get to his master one way op unother at least this way I get led there.' he thought letting his hands down from the daggers on his back. 'If all goes well I should be well paid for this.' he mused with a smrik.
