"Boo!" Jake said, dropping down from the tree in front of him. He, unlike Tock, still had his ax. "Cap'n, you think he's got anything worth stealing anymore?"
"Not sure!" Tock called back. "But I know how to find out."

Another girly scream fell from his lips, he really needed to stop doing that. He stood in place, eyes on the ax that the one in front of him had. He must really love getting into troubling situations.
" That girl stole all I had! I don't have anything else." He tried to reason, but in a sense he knew better. No harm in trying he supposed.

"He screams like a girl, Cap'n!" Jake called, grinning evilly. "Let's use him for bait."
"I dunno, what would come with him being this loud?" Tock asked.
"How about that big fish you told us about? The one with all the teeth?" Jake asked. "I bet we could eat off of that for weeks!"

" I do not!" Well yes, he obviously did, but he felt the need to argue anyways. Now they were talking about using him as bait?
" You can't use me as bait!" Especially not to lure something that sounded big and scary and had lots of teeth. No thank you. He just wanted to go home now, and try to forget about being outsmarted by pirates so many times this week.

"He's got a point," Tock said.
"What?" Jake asked, shocked.
"We can't use him as bait... unless we make an extra strong fishing rod," Tock said. "We need a big tree."

Trystan sighed slightly before it was instantly sucked back in. They were going to use him as bait! He groaned before looking around for his escape routes. His eyes landed on the limb above his head, just in jumping distance if he tried hard enough. That would do.
He squatted before leaping into the air, his hands grabbing hold of the tree limb. He grinned before pulling himself into the tree, grunting from the effort before crawling higher into the tree. He figured he would act just like they saw him, a tree brat.

"Nice thinking, kid!" Tock shouted up to him. "Ax," he said. Jake handed him the ax and he started hacking at the base of the tree Trystan was in. "This tree will work just fine."
"And he's nice enough to hook himself, Cap'n!" Jake agreed.

Before he took the compliment to heart he heard the sound of the ax hitting the tree. They were going to cut it down while he was in it?! He groaned at his luck and climbed higher, looking at a near by tree and judging the distance. It wasn't far at all, although he did note that the fall would hurt if he did miss. Then again being used as bait for a fish with lots of teeth sounded like it would hurt a lot more.
He inched against the trunk of the tree before pushing himself into motion, running along the limb before leaping to the other tree. For a split second he didn't think he would make it, then his open hands slapped against a limb of the other tree, and he held on for dear life. The limb bent from his weight, lowering him down to the ground. Before his feet even touched the ground he let go of the limb and took off, not even caring to look back at the pirates. Looking back always got you caught it seemed.

"We lost our bait," Jake said after the boy was out of sight.
"Oh well," Tock said. "It was entertaining while it lasted."
And the two headed back to the ship, trying not to laugh.
