I have been rather busy, so I apologize for the delay. In my opinion, RL (real life) must come first - even for an addict of WoW - which I am.

OK - the Big Book is not bad. It is to cure an addiction. However, I don't think that we are trying to "cure" us from writing - we are trying to encourage us to write.

I am not pessimistic, but I should point out that technically there are not votes for The Big Book because it's not in the voting list, so whoever made the first post should add it to the poll if it is to be included. Otherwise, it's not fair, since not everyone can see The Big Book as being part of the actual voting unless they read through every post.

Again - it's not original because unexpected or not - someone has already used the name.

The newsletter should have a unique ring to it to, in a way, boast of our own creativity by coming up with something different.

I'm sorry I am so late in replying - I work a 40-hour week (working evening shifts), sleep late, and am also a WoW addict. Give me some time to get to the forums. I barely have a chance to empty out my e-mails. When I get the chance to do a complete dump of whatever I have in my e-mail box, it's maybe once or twice a week, with over 100 unread newsletters and e-mails that I haven't opened yet.

-slinkers into light-

Uhm, can I say something?

You can't edit the polls. It's not my fault. Gaia's fault. D:
And if I delete the poll and re-do it, all the votes are gone.
Technically, The Big Book has three votes.

People don't have to look through every post. Because honestly, I made it clear in all my posts that The Big Book was up to be voted for.

You can't change an existing poll, so you would have to create a new one. If you create a new one, all the information is erased.

And to my knowledge, it is overall the end of February.
The votes afterwards don't count.
I'm going to double check to make sure that I haven't gotten any of the votes or whichever confused.

I still wouldn't count it. I think an original post should have been made to get ideas for a newsletter title - and once all the ideas were combined, then a valid poll could have been made. But what's done is done, so whatever.

I still don't like the idea of The Big Book for the various reasons I have mentioned. We're supposed to be writers with a creative flair - not copycats that use our own reasons to have an excuse to use something else that is already done.

I'm sorry to say this, but you sound just a tad bit bitter.

AND again if you read the first page of the guild, the Big Book makes the most sense and fits well with the theme of Writers Anonymous....

the theme makes it the perfect name.

Quote:
You see, it’s not a conspiracy someone else has created. It is, in fact, a conspiracy developed by writers. You’ve most likely stumbled upon this guild due to a love of writing. If you meet the guild’s criteria, it’s most likely more of a writing obsession. An addiction, you might say. So wouldn’t your friends and family, who you haven’t seen in years because you haven’t left your computer, love it if you entered a sort of rehab for this? Most likely. And we can provide that- at least, that’s what they’ll think. It’s the perfect scheme. You have a place to rant about your latest story, find help for that writer’s block, get critique, and just plain chat with fellow writaholics. All the while, they’ll think you’re finding a cure for that compulsion that keeps you up till three a.m. each night.

Big Book ties in with convincing people that you are in a sort of rehab for this obsession called writing.

I know that you are smart enough to comprehend that, but I don't understand why it is that you don't believe that it has creativity. It fits with the original meaning of the guild.

Sticking to roots is sometimes needed to make things right and fun.

You can make all the assumptions about me that you want. I'm being logical. Logic has to have it's place, even with creativity.

So - farewell, WA. BTW - I couldn't find the backing to the movie I wrote my review for until AFTER I wrote it - and unfortunately, it's rated R - so you'll need the back up movie reviewer for the newsletter. My bad.

Have fun all! Because I don't need the attitudes I'm getting.
