What is your family's opinion on your Queen obsession?
Totally cool--in fact, my folks are nearly as obsessed as I am!
Pretty good--I mean, they think Queen is an alright band and all that.
Fair--they put up with it with an occasional eye roll.
Are you kidding? My family can't stand Queen! (In which case, you have my utmost sympathy, dude.)

oh, boy oh boy...

my dad used to think that Freddie was a great singer, but creepy and that they only had a few good songs out...after I started listening to Queen more and he was listening to them too, he started liking them too...he still thinks Fred used to bang David Bowie, but he still respects his voice and talent, especially when I told him about Freddie actually being shy...of my obsession?

I don't know why that bit made me lol so hard.
Can you imagine?
Wait.
Nevermind.
Anyhoo.
My parents just roll their eyes when I gush about my obsessions, since they change so often.
But... There is a reason why my circulating classic rock obsession comes back to Queen. It always happens that way. Like just last week, I was still in 'The Who' mode, but now my Queen obsession is back.
I don't have many people IRL to gush about my obsession with. Most of those people are on the internet... When I visit my best friend again, I'll surely be able to gush about it. It's fun to listen to her vinyl of Sheer Heart Attack over and over, while steadily getting drunker. rofl

Oh wow. Ramble over.

*snorts*
I'm underage, and I'm not so obsessed with getting drunk that go out and get booze-but f it's there, I'll have some....when I'm of age and can get drunk easily, SCC is gonna be the first song I listen to...

SUCCESS!!! Last week, my mom was all frustrated at me (jokingly)...Guess why? SHE HAD RADIO GAGA STUCK IN HER HEAD!!! CUZ OF ME!!!!

xD The few friends I have to gush about Queen to are guys, so they don't really appreacite my odd, Queen obsessed thoughts that much...

Wow Blue, that seems like a bunch of fun!!! I do that with my mom, without the drinking since I'm underage, but it seems like we're drunk which is pretty funny... rofl So many stories... if you wanna hear about them, I'll gladly share.

My mom, dad, sister, grandma and all my friends are always mad because they have some odd Queen song stuck in their head. For the past month, it's been 'Tie Your Mother Down'. (And my mom still finds this funny.)

At this juncture I have "Let's Turn it On" (one of Freddie's solo songs) playing in my head. As it has been for almost an hour now. Constantly.

And now have just been seized by a random urge to listen to ANATO. Best. Album. Ever. Seriously.

Yes, isn't it fun to make your folks aware of the awesomeness that is Queen? I as of yet have no really extraordinary tales to boast...well, except for the fact that my 6 and 7 year old brothers both know who Freddie Mercury is now. *beams proudly* mrgreen

Right now, I don't know what's playing.... so many songs get stuck in my head, I don't know up from down.

Yes, it is fun(ny) to remind them of the greatness that is Queen. Especially at 7 in the morning!

My sibs. know who Freddie is also!! We seem to be very good teachers! blaugh

Haha, I feel like a nerd, I'm listening to a record by 5th Dimension... Age of Aquarius.. lol
But wow.
Mom's had Radio Ga Ga in her head before.. lol.
It was when I was in High school, I'd gotten my Queen: The Platinum Collection not too long before, and one morning at school (she worked as the HS librarian..still does) and she went "Melody, I've had that damn Radio Ga Ga song in my head all day because of you".
xD

Grilled Cheese: In fact, A Night at the Opera is one of the records I'm considering putting on after this one is over... xD As well as Jazz... Dreamer's Ball on vinyl= heart

And... the fun my best friend and I isn't all about getting drunk, but it is a fun thing to do every now and then. If I did the drinking AND crazily listening to music every day, I'd have an issue, but the drunkness is a once in a while sort of thing.
Okay. Wow. Other ramble over. xD
I certainly am wordy today lately.

When I am obsessed with a band, I tend to play a song on repeat repetitively. Queen are really good for this as the music is so diverse that once you get sick of a ballad style song, you can just go find something else. For instance...last night I listened to "Leaving Home aint Easy" 39 times in a row. Then I listened to "The March of The Black Queen" 23 times before going to sleep. (Yes I am slightly obsessive compulsuve rofl )
Queen and Bowie obsession since I was five...so my parents are really sick of Queen and Bowie. Its a sad reality
