Leon: Ha, don't worry about it. In my entire life, I can count the amount of times I saw them on one hand. It's four, by the way.

He held up four fingers, twiddling them around in the air.

Davi felt shock take over her face.

"You only saw your parents four times? My god!"

Leon: Yep, only four times. But hey, it wasn't exactly a loving marriage, and I wasn't exactly a planned son.

"Yeah, but...still..."

Davi couldn't imagine life with only seeing her parents four times, as boring as they were. Before she had a chance to elaborate, the teddy bear was back, smiling again.

"So, what can I get for the lovebirds? We've a special on our sweetheart's delight."

Davi blushed lightly.

"No, thank you. And we aren't together. Just a vanilla cone, please."

Leon: Chocolate for me, please. Sugar-free.

The lightie bar tender left and returned a few minuets later with their orders. Davi took an experimental lick of her, then smiled in delight.

"Tastes delicious!"

Teddy bear smiled in return, and moved on to another party of patrons. Davi turned to Leon, taking another lick of her cone.

"Sugar free?"

Leon: Sugar can lead to food poisoning in demons.

He smiled that "oh well" smile of his, and licked his own ice cream lightly.

Leon: Mmmm, delicious. Wanna try?

He held his cone out slightly towards Davi.

Davi was still stuck on the whole food poisoning thing. She blinked.

"What? Oh, yeah, sure."

Feeling just a touch embarrassed, Davi took the proffered cone, and tried it. She made a face.

"Ugh. Aspratain. Food poisoning or no, how can you stand that?"

Leon: Well, having never tasted sugar, it tasted good to me. Like burnt foods.

Davi shook her head, handing Leon back his disgusting ice cream carefully, half afraid it was the grey plague come again.

"Demons."

A harsh word, but full of affection. She smiled to take the last of the sting out of her words.

"So how old are you? S-years, I mean."

S-years were the commonly accepted time frame between the races, as their calendars were prone to differ in Heaven and Hell, or even just between the clans within each faction. All in all, it made for a very confusing time of figuring out age.

The Clark vs. Addison consensual rape case was the final straw to the camels back. When Addison emerged as being not guilty, someone on the high brass through out a simple solution: Standard years. Or as they quickly become known as, S-years.

Leon: In all actuality, I stopped counting at 12,853 and a half.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 13, 2008 8:08 pm

Davi smiled.

"Darn. I guess that means you're too old for me. Shoot."

Leon: Well, how old are you?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 14, 2008 3:07 pm

Davi looked just a touch sheepish.

"Seventeen."

Technically, she'd been legally an adult now for a full year plus change, but Davi knew without asking that her parents would not approve of a thirteen thousand year old boyfriend. And she definitely knew that they'd have her head if it was a demon on top of that. 'Boyfriend? Where the hell did that come from? He's just my friend!'

Leon: Aww, how sweet. I guess daemons age differently than angels. A 17-year-old would look like a newborn down there. I suppose, if they went by your aging process, I'd be the equivalent of an 18 or 19-year-old.
