Not a theme song so much, but there's a song in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Wicked Little Town, for those who know the film) where the lyrics fit perfectly regarding the relationship between two characters. I can honestly see the first character singing it to the other.

I make little melodies for my characters on my cousin's keyboard. I don't do a whole lot since I don't know really how to play, but I like messing around with the notes =P.
But when I write I am ALWAYS listening to Teardrops On My Guitar and Evanescence stuff. Just gets me into the mood to write =P.
Or music from Inuyasha,
That really helps for the more feudal stories. The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star

Hmm... Some songs that I listen to do seem to fit perfectly with my characters' personalities or situations, but I haven't really considered them "theme songs". xd I do listen to a lot of music when I try to write my novel though. I've even made a special playlist for it. 3nodding Right now, the top songs that get me in the right mindset for writing my novel are:
"No Bravery" by James Blunt (perfect for my novel, even though it makes me cry every time I listen to it. *shot*)
"The Sparrows and the Nightingales" by Wolfsheim (Dunno, it's also perfect. whee Less depressing than "No Bravery", though.)
"Politik" by Coldplay
The song that the pianist played in The Pianist when the Nazi officer found him... Argh.... I forgot the name. ;___; I think it was a nocturne in C sharp by Chopin...?

If I had to lump them all together and give them a theme song it would end up being something like Yellow Submarine by the Beatles, bemoaning their current in-my-head state.

sεяρεиsoяτια!___ I usually only give them theme songs if I come up with a character first and then I hear a song and I say "god damn, that is it!" - otherwise I try and fit my characters to the song a bit ; o; ... my current villain has a theme song though, "Foxy, Foxy" - Rob Zombie

My characters have many theme songs for the various stages of their life and I am too lazy to write out every last one, BUT, I can do a few.
Sandra's (shut up, yes I use her name as my screenname) theme when she's about fifteen is "Because Of You", by Kelly Clarkson, but then later on you've got "Miss Independent" and "Far Away" and....bunches of others. And I only just now realize that Kelly Clarkson somehow invaded my brain while I created this character or something.
Now, Marie and Greg both end up with "Best of Times" by Styx and "Baba O' Riley" by The Who, since they're basically a couple.
Anton ended up with a bunch of creepy stalker songs. sweatdrop That and, "I'm better than j00" songs. He's my little "nazi".
