The first time I saw Laputa I actually didn't like it a whole lot but now it's a favorite. It has a great plot and I love Dola and the boys, they're my favorite characters~

I didn't really like the English dubbed version, but the original Japanese was really good.

The Castle in the Sky if one of my all time favorites! The robots' personification is really good and touching. Kind of reminds me of the god warriors in Nausicaa

Chasemustang I didn't really like the English dubbed version, but the original Japanese was really good. same here The robots were so cool and I loved when one of them moved the kite for the nest. but... but... the guy who used the black stone (his name slipped my mind) is sooo evil *shivers*. I hate him. ...on a side note, PAZU is soooo cool!!

potatopunker Chasemustang I didn't really like the English dubbed version, but the original Japanese was really good. same here I never got around to watching the Japanese version (don't know why...as little kid I probably preferred dubs stare ) but I'll try to watch the storyboards in Japanese. What made the dubbed one so bad though? I thought James Van Der Beek for Pazu was wayyy too deep but everything else didn't bother me so much (plus James is still pretty good there despite that deepness...*likes deep-voiced men xp *)"Pazu loves Sheeta cool " [random quote]

I don't see why people don't tend to like the english dubs crying I think Disney does a great job finding v/a's for the parts, but that's just my opinion.
Another random quote: "Smoke in ur eyes!!!!"

Another random quote: "Smoke in ur eyes!!!!" Don't get me wrong, they do a good job. It's just I think they could have found much better VAs for certain characters, usually the males. The only two I ever really loved were Ashitaka (Billy Crudup) and Tombo (Mathew Lawrence). Ashitaka, I thought, was perfect in all ways, regarding my taste, the character's personality, yada yada ya...but for Tombo, I like the way Matt fashioned his voice so it would match Tombo's personality.
The of course there's the classic Spirited Away thing...I didn't really like either Chihiro (Daveigh Chase) or Haku (Jason Marsden).

I completely agree. Ashitaka and Tombo were matched up very well, and I also think that Kiki had a good VA also. Well, better than her Japanese one anyways, haha. I don't know why, but her voice just irks me.

K.Shuichi_Girl Takiko-chan I love the robots in Laputa! They look so evil, yet so cute! I was squealing when they found the castle and there was nature-loving robots around. xd You know, at Studio Guilbi in Japan, they have a life-size metal robot exactly like the ones in Castle in the Sky. dont youmean the gibili museam?or is there on at the studio too

It was kinda sad when they had to destroy Laputa. Laputa was so beautiful and It kinda made me feel sad that it was abandoned and the robots were left gardening. Anyway, I like Pazu. biggrin
