Ffaux Pas Just make shortbread. It's easy and doesn't take much in the way of ingredients. I should, probably. Unfortunately, I've yet to bake, so I'll probably be tired by the time I get to things for myself.

My stomach shoulder and head hurt.
And I called in to see if I have to work today. Conveniently I don't. But I think I do have gaming. :/ Yuck at D&D. Stupidest system ever.

But it's not confusing. D: That's part of the problem. It's too simple. I love mechanics. I want there to be a built in method of reflecting damage taken during other actions. You can be next to dead, and unless you implement outside of the core game rules, you'll still be attacking and moving as if nothing's wrong. Where is my realism, dammit. And keeping in mind that I'm more a fan of history than fantasy, 7th Sea is way more up my alley.
Shadowrun is fun too though.
And now this totally should have been in the Gaming forum.

Actually, if you take 'next to dead' as 0 hit points, then you can only take one standard action or you loose a hit point.
Anything below 0 and your unconcious. -10 and you are dead.
Shadowrun is lots of fun.
I shot my friend in the neck once. XD And we were on the same team.
Shall we shift it?

I meant still above 0. Being below 0, for all intents and purposes, is as good as dead, since you can't do anything anyway. The only thing that matters, at that point, is whether your healer has the spells to put you above 0 again, or whether you're going to sleep this fight out.
So yes, at 0 you're limited, but until you're on the verge of passing out, you're running around attacking things or flinging spells like nothing's amiss.
And we could, but that would mean making a thread. And I am feeling really lazy atm.
And would it be dedicated to D&D, or pen and paper sort of RPGs in general?

You do have a point. What if someone hit your jugluar or that one big artery that I can't think of the name of and starts with a c or a k?
Lazyness is contagious. I don't wanna make a thread either, cause I just made one.
If we were, I'd probably be better to make it for paper & pen in general, cause otherwise there'd be one for DnD one for Shadowrun and one for the other p&p games that I don't know about/have forgotten.
Going to get some food.

Cartoid? The Femoral would be bad too. I mean you wouldn't exactly be able to stand on the leg, let alone fight. I guess that's where called shots come in, but that shouldn't really be necessary. I should start getting ready though.
*Nod* If it turns out that there're enough people who want to discuss one given system or game they can always branch off and make their own.

You could make a house rule stating something "if you are at ~#>0 HP then role FORT save to have more than one action that turn."

Lar, aye, there are house rules, some of the errata and extra books include mechanics and rules for taking that sort of thing into account.
But I think it's the sort of thing that should be included in the basic game.

Maybe they thought it'd get too complicated?
Mind you, I thought it was complicated the first six times I read the PHB. But then again, I read it when I was really young. And I still can't keep half the rules straight.

Your right they could have built a formula for nonlethal damage accumulation when taking lethal damage. This would cause a them to become staggered.
