As Lily went off on her own to battle some trainers in order to train her new Staryu, Meg also looked for some willing trainers herself to battle. It didn't hurt to train her own Pokemon, especially since she would need some tougher Pokemon to make it through Mt. Moon.
... countless battles later ...
Meg had found herself eight trainers willing to battle with her. After beating them all with superb style and skill, her Pokemon were more than ready to face the trek through Mt. Moon. She went back to Lily, who had just finished beating her last trainer as well.
"Hey Lily! How have you been fairing? I trained my Pokemon up pretty nicely on this route. What about you? Do you think you're ready to beat Brock yet?"

Zuzu grew to LV15!
Zuzu did not learn Copycat
Zuzu forgot Tackle and learned Doubleslap!
Chuchip grew to LV13!
Chuchip learned Thunder Wave!
Chuchip forgot Growl and learned Quick Attack!
Meg received P1304!

[Just so you know, I actually only beat 3 of those trainers, but I'm not complaining xD]
As Meg walked back to Lily, she had told her she beat all of the trainers, and asked if she was ready to challenge Brock.
This time, Lily had a confident answer. "Yeah, I think I have what it takes to face and beat Brock. Those trainers really prepared my Staryu for what it has to go through in order to defeat Brock. I know my Pokemon and I can beat him now." Lily inhaled and exhaled deeply. "I think we should go back to Pewter and heal our Pokemon."

As Maya and Yue made their way through the long path, two trainers approached them.
"Let's battle!" they exclaimed in unison. One talking to Maya and one to Yue. It seems that they didn't want a double battle, but two single battles, and Maya and Yue gladly accepted.
Maya sent out her Chuuni against the first trainers Pidgey and took it down with two Thundershocks, then took down the second with only one.
Yue sent out his Beldum against the second trainer's Caterpie. Caterpie barely got any hits in before Beldum's Take Down took it out. Same scenario with the following Caterpie. And with the exception of the move Poison Sting, the same scenario with the following Weedle, although tt's Poison Sting was of no use at all against Beldum's tough steel coat. And the normal type Tackles did little to nothing as well.

As Yue and Maya walked further down the path, they encountered two more trainers and began to battle with them as well.
This time Maya sent out her Mudkip. Her opponent sent out a Rattata. With a few Mud Slaps to lower accuracy, then some Water Guns to finish the job, Rattata fainted in no time. Her opponent then sent out an Ekans. Mudkip used the same strategy as before, but with the Mud Slaps being super-effective, he didn't have anytime for Water Guns before Ekans fainted as well.
Yue also decided to send out his second Pokemon as Mankey leaped out onto the battle field against the enemy Weedle. He took care of it quickly with a few Fury Swipes. The opponent then sent out a Caterpie, who did some damage before fainting. The following Metapod and Kakuna did nothing but take some of Mankey's energy, as they mainly spammed Harden.

The two took a short break before continuing on and encountering two more eager trainers.
Maya chose Muddle to face off against her trainer's Nidoran. Using Water Gun and suffering some damage from Double Kick, Muddle won the first round. Then the trainer sent out Rattata who got some major damage in before being finished off by Muddle's melee of Mud Slaps, nearly blinding the opponent.
Yue sent out his Beldum who made chump-change of the opponent's Spearow. Beldum seemed to be getting his speed up the more he battled. His Take Downs still hit the speedy Spearow, mid-air sometimes, even.

They quickly hurried on and again encountered two more trainers.
Yue sent his Beldum out against the first trainer's Caterpie. He again made chump-change of this bug-type pokemon with it's powerful Take Downs, and their Tackles doing little damage. Beldum did even better agains the following Weedle, whose Poison Sting was useless against the steel-type Pokemon.
Maya sent her Chuuni out against the second trainer's Jigglypuff. This was a task, actually. Maya's Chuuni barely keeping up and Thundershocking when it had an opportunity.

Yue and Maya were a bit tired, so they went to the Pokemon Center right outside of the cave to rest. They handed their Pokemon to Nurse Joy and slumped in their chairs. Yue wondered if they'd meet any friendlier trainers along the way. Not that the trainers they battled weren't friendly in that they were mean, they just . . . didn't say much, conversation-wise. They just wanted to battle.

Maya yawned as she leaned her head on the back of her chair.
"Your pokeballs are ready." said Nurse Joy to the two trainers.
They went and got their pokeballs and sat back down to prepare for the long trek through Mt. Moon. They weren't too thrilled about long treks, but they were very excited about the next gym in Cerulean City.
Yue let his two Pokemon out to play around while they waited. "Come on out Beldum, Mankey." he said releasing his two Pokemon onto the floor. Beldum stayed close to Yue, but Mankey looked like he wanted to play, so Maya sent out her two as well.
"Go, Muddle, Chuuni." she said releasing her Mudkip and Pikachu. They enthusiastically went to play with the Mankey. Muddle seemed a bit wary of Nurse Joy, as Muddle could be a bit shy around new people.
Yue glanced around, wondering if any other trainers would be passing by soon.

[OMG, you already defeated them already? In that one post?]
Lily decided she would heal her Pokemon just one more time before moving on the Mt. Moon. Apparently there was a Pokemon Center right before the entrance to the cave. She walked back a little bit [because in my previous post I said I was at the entrance of the cave] and found the Pokemon Center.
"Nurse Joy, heal my Pokemon please?"Lily asked politely. Joy smiled and took Lily's Pokeballs. Lily smiled back and walked to a couple of small chairs while she waited for her Pokemon to be healed. While there, she spotted a couple of other trainers waiting for their Pokemon also. She didn't take much of a notice to them, and just looked at her shoes.

(Just short little battle briefings. What Pokemon each trainer used, some moves, and who won. xD It was late and my mind was dimming. Plus, Maya only battled 3, and Yue battled 3. Oh, and our four pokemon are out of their balls.)
Maya spotted a girl walk in and ask for her Pokemon to be healed. She was excited to meet some new people, so she walked over to the girl. "Hi. My name's Maya. And that Mudkip and Pikachu playing with that Mankey over there are mine. The Mankey and Beldum are my brother's, that's him right there." she said pointing to her brother and taking a breath. "So, what's your name?" she asked with a laugh.
Yue began to walk over to make sure that his sister wasn't bothering the trainer.

A girl walked over to Lily and started to tell her all about herself. Lily didn't really listen so much to that, but she wanted to be polite, so she responded.
"Ah. I'm Lily. My Pokemon are currently with Nurse Joy. I have a Staryu, Pidgey, Pikachu and Nidoran(F)." Lily said to the girl, rather nonchalantly. Then she realized they were going to go through Mt. Moon also, according to their location. "So you going through Mt. Moon too?" Lily raised her eyebrows.

"Yes we are." said Maya to the young girl. "We've both beaten the gym in Pewter City and now we're on our way to Cerulean. Though we're sort of putting it off, as it's quite a long trek." she said with a smile. "I'm assuming you've beaten the Pewter gym as well? I'm tired of my brother and other older people assuming I can't do anything just because I'm a young girl."
"Oh, I'm sorry. Was my sister bothering you?" Yue said as he approached the little girl. He didn't want to be a bother, and she seemed like she might be somewhat bothered by the experience.

"I see. It is a pretty long walk." Lily leaned back in her chair. "Yeah, I beat Brock just a few hours ago as a matter of fact." She looked at the little girl. She looked about the same age, probably older. Lily sighed. Everyone was older than her now.
"Oh, I'm sorry, was my sister bothering you?" A boy much older than her walked up to her.
"Oh, no, she's fine. It has been kind of lonely lately, even with Meg traveling with me. I'm glad to have someone to talk to." Lily smiled.

"Well I'm glad." said Yue with a smile returned. "I'm glad she wasn't a bother. But we really must be on our way. I'm sure if you're heading the same path as us we'll meet up again." he said as he prepared to leave.
Yue grabbed his bags and went through the door as the girl uttered some words to them, and Maya followed close behind. On to Mt. Moon they went!

Lily nodded. "I actually should get going soon too." Lily still had to wait for Meg to do whatever it was she needed to do, then they could start the trek up Mt. Moon. As the boy and girl turned to leave, Lily waved. "Bye! I do hope we see each other again!"

((Ah I'm sorry! xp I was out today so I couldn't really post. I have so much catching up to do!))
Lily and Meg had made their way back out to Route 3, as it was the only path that led to Mt. Moon - their next destination. Meg had already battled her fair share of trainers and her Pokemon were perfectly healthy and ready for the trek through the enormous cave. Lily, however, mentioned that she would have liked to heal her Pokemon once more before heading out. Meg had kind of wanted to check out the base of Mt. Moon before they headed in, and the Pokemon Center was nearby so she suggested Lily go heal her Pokemon and Meg would join her in a few minutes.
While Lily walked back to the Pokemon Center, Meg explored the area around the entrance to Mt. Moon. Zuzu was out of her pokeball and by her side as usual.
"I hear there are Clefairy in Mt. Moon," she said, talking mostly to herself, though she looked at Zuzu to make it seem like she was having a conversation with her Pokemon and didn't come off as being crazy to the passersby.
"I think a Clefairy might be a cool collection to my party. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to come across one?" After seeing all that she needed, she decided it would be best to head back to Lily at the Pokemon Center. On her way back, however, she passed a man who looked like he was dressed to go hiking. He was a big man, sitting on a rock and looking a little down. Meg went over to the burly man and gave him a sympathetic smile.
"Excuse me, sir?" she said. He looked up and she asked him, "Are you OK? You seem a little down." Meg was a very outgoing girl, so it wasn't uncommon for her to walk up to strangers like this. Seeing people down was just too depressing and, if she could, she would try to help them lighten up just a bit.
The man replied, "Oh it's nothing...it's just...you see, I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a bind here." Meg nodded to show that she was deeply interested in hearing this man's troubles. She had crouched down so that she was beneath him, looking up.
"You see, I just came through Mt. Moon from Cerulean City and while I was hiking I came across this egg." The man opened up his pack and carefully pulled out a small egg, probably about the size of both his fists. "I think it's a Pokemon egg, but its parents were nowhere in sight and some Mankey had taken it and were handling it pretty roughly. I knew it didn't belong to them and that they probably came across it and stole it. I know many trainers go through this cave and I wouldn't be surprised if the parents were captured by one. I rescued this egg from the Mankey, but I'm a hiker and I can't take care of it. What should I do?"
Meg thought for a moment, then said, "Well, there's a Pokemon Center nearby. I think Nurse Joy would be happy to take care of that egg for you. Actually, I'm heading over there right now to meet a friend of mine. I could take it for you."
The man smiled. He could tell this young lady was a genuinely sweet and caring person. He handed the egg over to her and, smiling, he said, "Thank you, but I think I have a better idea. That egg needs someone caring to look after it. And by the looks of your Pokemon there, I can tell you're a trainer. Why don't you take this egg and care for it? Maybe the Pokemon that hatches from it will be a great asset to your team."
Meg smiled and thanked the man. It would be good for an egg to be with a trainer than stuck at a Pokemon Center. She agreed to care for the egg and the man, now happy again, went on his way. In order to keep the egg safe, she wrapped it in the pink scarf she had for Zuzu and carefully tucked it snugly into her bag. Then she continued to the Pokemon Center with Zuzu to meet back up with Lily.
Lily was still waiting in the Pokemon Center, her Pokemon all healed and ready to go. She smiled and ran up to her. "Hey! You'll never guess what just happened to me just now!"

[[OMG!!!! What is going to hatch from it? I actually really wanted an egg, but I didn't want to be a breeder lol.]]
Lily was about to walk out of the Pokemon Center when Meg came rushing in, her face aglow in excitement and happiness.
"Hey! You'll never guess what happened to me just now!" Meg ran toward Lily. It appeared that her bag was fuller, so Lily just took a guess.
"Someone gave you a bunch of items? Um, you just picked up something really rare? You just came across an old friend and they gave you some berries from your hometown?" Lily just threw out random guesses, then shrugged. She was almost a hundred percent sure that the real reason Meg was so happy was neither of those.
"I have no idea. What happened?"

Meg, still excited, placed her bag on the floor in front of her. She knelt down and opened it up, carefully pulling out the item concealed completely in the pink scarf. Slowly, she unwrapped it, revealing the Pokemon egg the kind hiker had bestowed upon her.
"It's a Pokemon egg! I met this man who looked like a hiker sitting outside and he said he found this in Mt. Moon! He didn't know what to do with it and, after talking to me for a while, gave it to me! He said he wanted me to take care of it and keep it as my own. I don't know too much about Pokemon eggs, but I think I can take care of this little guy until it hatches. I wonder what Pokemon is inside though?"
Meg didn't really know what was inside, except that it was probably a Pokemon found in Mt. Moon. She carefully wrapped it back up and placed it back in her bag. She pulled the bag over her shoulder again and stood up.
"It will probably be a while before it hatches. But I think its really cool! I've never seen a Pokemon egg before! But I'm getting carried away just a bit. Are you all ready for Mt. Moon?"

Meg knelt down and opened up her bag to show Lily her Pokemon Egg.
"He really just gave you an egg like that? Wow. Nice guy." Lily scratched the back of her head and smiled. She was a little jealous of Meg now. Her brother back home was a Pokemon Breeder so Lily was used to seeing eggs around. But, she's never had one. She would like to have one in the future.
"It's really cool. There'd better be an equally cool Pokemon inside of there." Lily laughed weakly and sighed.
When Meg asked if she was ready, Lily nodded. "I'm good to go. You're ready right? Then let's go!" Lily pointed to the entrance of Mt. Moon.
