Abortion is ok under quite a few conditions in my veiw:
Basicly if the child is concived (excuse my horrific spelling xp ) under false pretenses or if the person is unwilling or not in their right mind.
Examples are needed for this im sure:

Rape is one of the strongest and most obvious. If a woman is raped and gets pregnant against her will, why shouldnt she be able to have an abortion? It wasnt her choice and she may not be able to care for it properly.
If a person has sex and takes precautions so they dont get pregnant but still do, then this raises a question or issue. Depending on circmstance abortion can be considered acceptable. If the child will suffer or not be raised into a proper world or condition then it is debateable that abortion would be ok.
Most things like this rely on context. Each and evey case will be different, and be varied wildly.
But if the child or anyone else will suffer due to outside conditions then they might just have a case.

Am i being too vague? confused

Ok, rape: how is it right to punish the most innocent of all the people involved? The baby didn't make his/her father rape his/her mother... why should the baby be the one to take the punishment?

Getting pregnant and giving birth does not have to ruin someone's life.
If someone got pregnant through rape and knew they couldn't raise the child, there is always the option of adoption (hehehe, it rhymes too).

I think that people should never have sex (with or without protection) unless they are fully aware that they could get pregnant, and can accept that responsibility. If they can't, then they are not ready for sex. If these people still do get pregnant (being stupid enough to think sex will never result in conception) then they need to have a reality check and realize that their actions DO have consequences, and that they do NOT live in Fairyland, where everything is happy and easy. I challenge those people to take responsibility and have the child. Like I stated earlier, they can put him/her up for adoption if they cannot raise him/her.

In what context is it okay to kill an innocent baby?

This is yet another matter that people can pull out at will: Killing is killing, end of.

People do have to accept the consequences of their actions, i agree 100% with that and with the idea of not havingsex untill you are adult enough to fully be aware of eveything that could and might happen.

There is still the possibility of giving up the child to be adopted, but things dont always happen as crystal clear as that. For one-the mother will now have to endure child birth, the single most painful natural experience that anyone can go through. Then after that there will be the heartache. The child will wonder why it was unloved and left with strangers and stranded without any connection to go on with. The child will then also probably have to wait for years to be adopted (assuming they will be).
The mother will be broken too, can you yourself say you would be strong enough to labour a child of your own flesh and blood only to leave them out in the cold harsh world almost alone?

Believe that is what they call conscience, good thing I'm unscrupulous 3nodding honour and ethics are limitations in my opinion. If an old man, about to die from a disease that can't be cured, yet just delayed though he can't leave the hospital and begs you to help him die, sure why not. I wouldn't commit it directly as it would get me in trouble with the law, but putting something in his reach would be fair enough I suppose... making sure not to leave fingerprints that connects me to the object... 3nodding that's quite a good and nicer example about the pain of keeping someone alive rather than the psycho killer example. Would it be bad to keep him alive in a world of suffering or help him a tad bit to end the suffering, hmm...

Anyways, people take killing too seriously, sure, many people are afraid of dieing and nobody knows what happens after death (which is the main reason it's illegal to kill) yet, death is just natural. Nobody (or not many) actually bury the remains of a mosquito. In the end I suppose it's about empathy, many would probably consider burying their pets as they were close to them and hold a little ceremony for them. Some people automaticly have empathy for other human beings, some people like me don't, they're simply mosquitos in my eyes.

Even though childbirth is painful, I think its worth it if it saves a life. And the heart ache is definitely going to be painful, I totally agree with that. But I think that people can live with that, and with the peace of mind that they gave their child the best gift they could: life.

What about the heartache they would have to live with, knowing they killed their own flesh and blood, their own baby?

When in that early stage of pregnancy many people find it hard to accosiate it with an actuall human being, or a baby. Perhaps its that they just dont want to, but it happens. But it wouldnt come about anyway since people do actively make the choice to do this sort of thing.
Nothing like this can be done without regret.

And i believe you Mattea are talking about Euthanasia, as opposed to direct killing.

so true, but if anyone starts getting too far off track I don't really feel like addressing it here on this thread. If any of you want to debate euthanasia, or the death penalty, start a new thread please. Thank you ^^

Just comparing matters that can relate to the subject 3nodding and shouldn't someone change the topic name to "Abortion is murder" or something for this topic to actually have a topic?

hmm, good idea, but i kinda like the name... and besides, if i ever want to start a new debate, the title would still fit (although maybe i should delete the "jk" part...)
