Darz can't, and really doesn't want to, figure Gwynne's behavior out. She's acting childish and selfish. If he could read thoughts. he'd tell her he knows the situations might appear different, but they are quite similar. The primary differance...is that Chalinda's body has become a living Hell. Ar'lania died to be woven back into the pattern at some point. Darz shakes his head and forces himself to stand. He knows he's never been good at staying mad, and his logic has won out in this situation quicker than his anger would normally wain. When he speaks Old Tongue again, it seems a whisper not meant to be heard.
~I doubt she's a willing pawn...~
That doesn't ease his mind, in the least, as Darz thinks of Chalinda's situation. Gwynne's reaction proves that she, at least, doubts her sister would join willingly. The funny thing is, however, that Darz can only ask himself what the sister's name might be. He has no way of telling as she didn't announce herself. Heaving a sigh, he looks over his shoulder to Gwynne. He does have something to say to her.
~I cannot promise what the future may hold. Light knows only the Creator can tell us.~
Light...Gwynne has a chance to actually see her sister again... Ar'lania is dead, and she only can live on in his memories. Darz looks away from Gwynne as he looks at passing clouds. There is nothing he knows to free Chalinda, if he's right about what's causing her to serve the Dark One. Wait... There was nothing he knew...but what of the Third Age?
~There is nothing I can do to save her...but...there may be a weave I do not know of in this age...~
Why Darz spoke this aloud may have several causes. He appears distracted. He's thinking about Chalinda...more of Ar'lania, but Gwynne's sister has become a concern, especially in their safety. The truth may be as simple as it seems, however. Darz may be seeking an anwer to the problem. If one were to ask Darz why he said it, however, his only answer would be that he was thinking outloud. The truth, as this response always means, is that he just doesn't know.

"I hate to be the one to say this, but we need to get moveing and find our friends" Jazral let out sigh "Please do not hate me for this, I know as well as any the grief of lost family can bring, but our friends are out there, and possibly in danger, the fact I can barely sence Selene Sedai worries me greatly. Is there anyway we can track Gwynnes sister, or at least find out where the others are? I do not intend to linger here any longer, with or with out your help I will find the others, although I would greatly appreciate your help."

Gwynne sat up suddenly, her eyes seeming to burn. Saidar was gone from her, but that didn't matter. "We won't find them, Warder. That's a Portal Stone. They could be anywhere, anywhen. They'll have to find their own way." She turned to Darz. "A'es din, you must know how to read resiudes. Teach me how to read and weave Travelling and we can follow!" It did not occur to her that male and female Travelling might be different, or that Darz would be unable to show her a thing anyway. She had forgotten that saidin and saidar were different. Horror had been suddenly subsumed by determination to pull Chalinda back. How, she didn't know, but the idea of Chalinda serving the Shadow willingly never entered her mind.

Darz looks at Gwynne, perplexed. Was she this untrained? How could she make that kind of mistake. Bringing his right hand to his face, he ruffles his brow. There is the chance that Gwynne has the Talent necessary, but he has no way of determining this, yet. Residue Reading, he knows, is rare. Who knows of its fate in the Third Age. Shaking his head, Darz looks back to Gwynne.
It is not that simple; I am afraid. Saidin and Saidar are too different... In a circle...it might be possible...if you have the Talent.
Darz doesn't want to admit that they may have to link, anyway, to face Chalinda. He knows nothing of her power...at least not enough to go in, flailing about like a chicken with its head cut off. It wasn't like him. He's more willing to wager that Chalinda's power will be equal to Gwynne's, but there's no way to prove that. Darz just would rather teach Gwynne something of Linking, anyway.
I can teach you to link.

"That is an awnser I simply will not accept Gwynne. Selene is one of those who is with the rest of our friends. There is not a chance in this world, or any other that I Will simply abandon my search for my Aes Sedai. Even if that means tracking down your sister. I have a suspsion that she knows where they were sent. At the very least she had something to do with it."
Jazral mounted his hourse again. "Come, should we even have a hope of tracking your sister or the others down, we should return to the portal stone"

I can teach you to link. Gwynne stared at Darz a moment. She couldn't believe her own stupidity. She wasn't thinking straight, but she couldn't make herself care. "I know how to link, but I can't touch the Source right now." Once again, she was defeated by her block, and as usual it was at an inconvenient time.Nimliiost "That is an awnser I simply will not accept Gwynne. "You foolish Warder! We can't find them without finding my sister, and the only way to find where she went is to read her gateway! I can't do that! Has your Aes Sedai taught you nothing!? The Portal Stone is useless to us now! We have to wait! She'll come back, I'm sure she will!" Of that, Gwynne wasn't half so sure as she sounded, but she was feeling something she'd thought mostly dead within her: hope. To her, it was a given that if Chalinda would just appear again, she could talk her back to the Light.

Darz wonders if the "block" the Aes Sedai spoke of earlier is what Gwynne speaks of in her inability to touch the Source. He shakes that thought off knowing that this "wilder" is more apt to being taught when she is calm. Darz allows a smile to touch his lips, once more...before hearing her snap at Jazral. That was something he hadn't expected. Rather than mounting up again, Darz grabs hold of saidin and quickly weaves a short-jump Gateway to just beside the the Portal Stone. He begins looking over the symbols, thinking intently on what Chalinda's intentions might have been. Jazral seems to think his "Aes Sedai", Selene?, is very far away.
What was she thinking? They could be anywhere imagined... They could be anywhen imagined... I'm fairly certain "when" is out of the question...
Darz looks over his shoulder, back to the small group. They are too far away to hear his normal tone of voice with any great ease. Jazral may be an exception, but that's also doubtful. He realizes he'd have to speak up, possibly yelling a bit, for them to hear him. He wants a moment to think about the Portal Stones. The Dark One isn't one to lose advantacious weaves just because time does. Darz's already determined that the Aes Sedai of the Third Age, the entire White Tower?, has lost much in terms of strength and weaves. Gwynne has taught him that in simple passing phrases. He could begin to peice the puzzle together, but that doesn't mean he isn't a long way off. He's only just begun.
What else?
Darz now wishes he'd given one of those they are seperated from one of the earrings he'd found from Immorys. The ter'angreal had allowed Immorys to track him, over hill and dale. Darz shakes his head as he heaves a sigh. There was no use in crying over spilt milk. What was done was done. He wonders at any other, possible use of the ter'angreal, but he's never seen them before. They could have been created for just about any purpose. Would their sole intent have been to track down one or the other? Darz continues to look over the symbols, trying to peice together a puzzle that most jagged pieces seem to be missing from.

Jazral shot Gwynne a cold glare, His golden eyes adding an icey tone to it "Do not think to call me foolish for a second child. As for my knowlage of the one power I am not stupid, and I fully intend to find your sister. I will find Selene Sedai at any cost" Jazral watched as darz wove a gateway and disapeared "Blood and bloody ashes " Jazral sighed and rode off towarts the pillar, Denath and Tazmin followed suit

Burn you, wolfkin. You only care about your Aes Sedai, not my sister... Light, my sister... what did Shai'tan do to her!? Fury rose in her. Suddenly desperate to express herself, and denied the use of the Power to do it, she turned and launched a punch at a nearby tree. It was nothing special, just her clenched fist. The tree, being thin, shivered but did not otherwise respond. Her fist, however, now ached with the impact and several scrapes. It didn't matter. Breathing heavily, she climbed onto her horse and set him walking at a liesurely pace towards the Portal Stone. She knew there was no point to examining the mysterious column. If I didn't need Darz's help, I'd leave them right here. I have to find Chalinda...

Darz runs his right hand over the column. The Portal Stone held the answer. He knows it. The problem is...he didn't...couldn't have seen how Chalinda focused saidar...or, more precisely, where. He reads over everything he knows in his mind about the Portal Stone. He immediately rules out time alteration due to Jazral's "sensing" Selene. He does the same with the Mirror World. Darz has no reason to even consider that, and he knows nothing of how this "Warder Bond" he's heard about works. He can only make assumptions, and that is one thing he won't do. He will only allow an educated guess to escape his lips.
They could be anywhere...even in the vile clutches of the enemy...
Darz won't admit it, but he's too afraid to do much more than short jumps with any Gateway not knowing, precisely, where he is. He doesn't know where he is, and he certainly doesn't know the state of the planet has been changed. What little bearing the passing thought of "jumping" had passes quickly at the sillyness of the it. A bit frustrated, Darz begins playing with weaves. He writes simple symbols in the air as he waves his fingers around. It almost appears as if he's writing notes to himself. The symbols disappear almost immediately after being created, however. Darz may seem far too casual in weaving.
The answer has to be here...

Everything happened so quickly. Before she could make sense of the situation, the whole event had unfoled and collapsed on itself. The strange woman who had appeared had somehow made the others vanish right before her eyes. She had watched them slip away as if they had never been there. It made her shiver just rethinking it.
But more startling was that the gleeman had been taken. Or, more so, he was told to go. And he went. She was no expert at seeing evil, but she knew that it wasn't right. Whatever had happened was something terrible. She just didn't know what to really make of it.
The arguments that sprouted afterwards were hardly anything to listen to. People squabbling over what they think is right or wrong. She might have Markus to follow right now, or never again, but she knew there was something to be done. She had to do something to help. Trying desperately to remember the names Markus had told her, she hoped she got them right.
"Whatever has happened, we can't solve a bloody thing while standing here arguing over it. We may have differences and varying goals of what to do here, but we can't just start attacking each other because we don't all agree. Everyone has something in common here. And if that common ground isn't enough to keep us here, then we should all go our own direction."
She looked at everyone for a moment before continuing.
"Jazral, we will do what we can to find Selene." She stumbled over the names, not quite sure she said them right, but she didn't ask or repeat them. "I would greatly like to find Markus again. And Gwynne, your sister is an important point for you. To lose a family member and learn they are still alive is a world shaking event. She is the key to what we need to know. We will do what we can to find her." As much as she hated the woman, the words were sincere and not scorn filled.
Finally, she turned to Darz. "And you may offer a lot of help for us. While you may not have the most to gain here, you definitely could stand to learn more of this Portal Stone Jazral mentioned. I know you're not from this time, and maybe that can be your ticket home."
She looked at everyone again, hoping something would register inside them. "We all want something. We all need to have something restored to us. And if we're going to tear each other down before we ever get a chance to start our search, we might as well give up now."
Dismounting from her stallion, she looked everyone in the eyes as she walked from person to person.
"I don't know about you people, but I'm not one to give up. And from what little I've learned about you people, you're a closely knit group. If not for ourselves, lets do it for those who are not here against their will."
Returning to her mount, she seated herself in the saddle. Her armor, not the Seanchan colors it once was, glimmered in the sunlight. Putting her helmet on her head, she swept her gaze over them all once more, the look of a commanding officer evaluating them.
"So, who's with me?"

Jazral smiled and nodded "You speek the truth Tazmin. For now we need to at least find Gywnnes sister." When they returned to the portal stone, jazral found darz there studdyin the stone intently, which was not surpriseing. Jazral dismounted and started takeing a closer look at all their tracks, Most importently Gwynnes sisters. her scent wasnt anything unusual. Light he hated gateways, they made people almost impossible to track. tracking Selene had been almost pure luck. "Blood and bloody ashes this is not going to be easy"

Fools and idiots, burn them all. Didn't they know the only way to follow a gateway was to read residues? If she could have done it, Gwynne would have read the weave and used it herself. What under the Light did they think the Portal Stone was going to tell them? Only Chalinda knew what symbol might find the others. How had she been turned? Gwynne was sure that no amount of words or torture would have turned her sister. That meant turning against her will. But that meant Compulsion, and Gwynne was almost certain Compulsion couldn't be maintained for that long against a channeler. Had she been in the mood to thank anyone, she would have thanked whoever had left that book in the library in Ebou Dar that had spoken of the forbidden weaves. Balefire had been there too. If it was not Compulsion, and Chalinda had not turned willingly, how had it been done?
The final possibility, the circle of 13 Aes Sedai filtered through 13 Myrrdraal, was unknown to Gwynne. It was almost amusing, if anyone had known the fact, that the circle had been described in the one missing page of the book in which she had read of Compulsion and Balefire. Of course, even had she read that page, it would have been little help to her. It had described only the existence of the circle; there were no details and certainly there was no cure. In an Age where knowledge was valued far less than material goods, Gwynne was almost a living embodiment of the spirit of the Brown Ajah, who would have welcomed her gladly if only her arrogance and mistrust of Aes Sedai could have been curbed. But for all that, she did not know what had happened to Chalinda. She knew only that she had to get her sister back, and she was sure she needed only words to accomplish the feat.
Responsive to no extent at all to Gwynne's fury and terror, for both were in her, the Power danced as the distant light of a match in the Pit of Doom in her perceptions. She could not bring it close enough to even sense that there were weave residues in the area, despite knowing for a fact that the residues existed. Frustration and impatience tore at her. Desperate, she turned her horse in the direction of Chalinda's final gateway and spurred the animal to a gallop. She did not know that gateways did not have to be aimed in the same direction they came out, nor that Chalinda had been in the area long enough to open a gateway to Seanchan if she had so chosen. Peripherally, she noted that she was riding towards the forest and that there were two wolves standing at the edge of it. Let the wolfbrother handle the wolves. She had more important things to seek.

Jazral barely noticed Gwynne leaveing off towards the forest. He was too busy sniffing around here Gwynnes sister had stood. Unfortunatly this had yeilded little, other then her show size and her scent. As Gwynne left, Jazral looked up, watching her head off towards the forest. He took a second glance at the forest line, and noticed two pairs off golden eyes stareing back at him "Blood and bloody ashes, How did I miss them? Jazral said more to himself then anyone, he finished the rest of his sentance in his head " I really have to start paying more attention I should have scenced them long ago...Those must have been the wolves Nikoru had scenced earlyer
"Worry not, brethern of the wood. These two leggs are part of my pack. Approch" Jazral's thoughts called out to the wolves. Not that they were really words persay, or even a language for that matter. It was more thoughts, shapes and ideas that he used to communicate to the wolves. The wolves did approch much to the surprise of those that remained around the stone piller. Prehaps most of all Denath whos's first reaction was to put his hand to his sword, untill he realised what was going on, as Jazral knelt down on his haunches and ruffeled the wolves fur behind their ears. "Don't be Alarmed..they are friends of mine" Jazral said more to Tazmin and Darz then denath, as he already knew that.
"Greetings Wolf who walks on two legs" The wolves said in unison "I am Shadowtail by way of Snowtail and he is Blue-eye by way of Deers Bane" "Tell me brothers, what brings you to here?" Was Jazrals reply. "We bring news to you of Foxhound by way of snowtail. She was killed by a female two legs..one that walks the shadows path. Yet We scenced the shadows Path was now her own. As was similar with the blacked one." "Show me Brothers" Jazral said as he stood up and took off running off after the wolves "Come friends. My Brethern have found us a trail to follow" The wolves took off in a similar direction to Gwynne. She was only off the wolves trail by about 50 yards. Jazral smiled to himself, as he ran with the wolves....He needed a good hunt.

Darz heaves an exasborated sigh as Gwynne tears off. He's thinking of quite a few things, and he certainly is not trying to discover what Chalinda did. That is impossible without having either the Talent nor saidar. He calls his borrowed mare and mounts. Before he can get to far in a trot, he sees something he hasn't in a long time. Jazral is communing with his wolf brethren. It is a breath of fresh air, but he ignores them. Darz begins a gallop in Gwynne's direction. Knowing Jarzal's wolfkin hearing would hear his speech, Darz only speaks more loudly rather than shouting or yelling.
There is no need to tell me, wolfkin. I'm off to see what I can do about Gwynne. We'll need her.
Spurring his mount on, Darz picks up the pace in order to catch up with Gwynne. He has to push a bit harder as his blade, Silver Wind is weighty to the horse. He races towards the forest to catch up with Gwynne. She's acting rashly, and that will only get her killed...or she could wind up like her sister if the circle of thirteen were used.
~Lady Gwynne! If we hunt your sister, it would be best as a group! The wolfkin's friends may know something!~
