I actually like Iorek as an epic!figure. But that's probably more because he's a giant bear rather than for any character-related reasons.
I always pictured him as having a Russian accent, though, rather than the deep-I'mma-giant-bear-lollzorrz voice. *shrugs*

Hm. I was disappointed.
Nicole and dear old 007? I think she never had a chance to be a good Mrs. Coulter ( sorry, guys, I hated her). Mrs. Culter is a strong confident woman that strieds in and is liek a gravity field to all and any. She can go to the North pole for crying out loud! She's a not a skinny fragile blondie! And the 007 acter is a fail as an acter so, I ugh, how could they have ruined both 007 and Lyra's dad is...beyond me.
Movie ending before(without) Lyra's friend's death? Anticlimatic. His death would have had meaning. Why would she go to the end of worlds if not friends?
One thing that bothered me the most: they did not convey the importance of daemons, as already mentioned by the others. You need to get it so much in your head that when Lyra is a bit further from Pan you feel their pain!
Graphics were nice, and while seeing Dust was silly, the way the battle in the North was portraied, with all the deamons just, disappearing, was very touching. I liked it.
I also like the whole look of the World. You could see it's a different dimension right away, and that was great.
My boyfirend who hasn't read the books liked it, minus the importance of daedmons, he didn't get that until I told him.
Turning books into movies is so hard, but there are some obvious mistakes...they should have tried more.
And calling it the Golden Compass, my God there's a reason it's called the Northern lights!
I think I liked Iorek. he wasn't portrayed the way i imagined him, bu it was...ok. I guess.
