i had to watch this way back in the days of grade school. i can't remember what grade or what school for that matter or much about the movie i do remember watching it for something like a religion class

The first time I saw it, I didn't know it was Johnny Depp.
(*what kind of person am I!?)
But, I didn't realize it until I saw the credits at the end. He's changed a lot.
I thought the movie was pretty good, though.

I love that movie. It's one of those movies that just give you a good feeling at the end. Or at least it did for me. Leonardo Dicaprio could fool me any day for being mentally challanged. I ended up recording it because it's been on HBO. I can't stop watching it now!

I only got to see that last 10 mintues or so. And by the end I was crying it was sooo sad then ending I hope to see the whole thing soon.

it was so touching when they interviewed the actress who played mama on ET one night. she so wants to see him again and meet his children. he sent a video message to her also..i hope they get to see each other again. with her current health condition, it's difficult to say how long she will be around to have such a reunion.

angel_of_strength i think this is the only movie i ever liked leonardo dicaprio in he seriously acted his a** off in that film...i thought he really was mentally disabled..and was shocked to see that he was not, lol

I really, really don't like Leonardo DiCaprio, but this movie was so sad. Johnny Depp was great...I saw the movie when I was 12, and had no idea who he was, but I still loved it. If you haven't seen it, WATCH IT!

I was convinced that he must have been once mentally retarded.

Yeah, i just saw it about a week ago for the first time adn i thought it was pretty good but really sad!!!I didn't get to see the last ten minutes of it though. I left at the part where the "person" died. I hope to watch the whole thing soon

I've seen this movie about 5-6 times already. I really love it, both Depp and dicaprio where great. I'm so glad it'll air on television here in Finland in a few days *does happy dance*

It was so sad when the mom died! I felt like I could cry... but i didn't anyways. Strange on how they lit the house on fire.

I like this movie. I didn't care for him kissing that guys wife but I still like him in the movie. Match in the gas tank, boom boom.
