His fingers curled around the closet door nob, and started turning, but didn't seem to twist all the way, the nob seemed stuck in a small distance between the beginning of the turn, and at it's halted position.
"Oh you gotta be joking..." He said out load in frustration. the door seemed to loom over him in laughter, as he imagined two little snot-nosed brats on the other side keeping it jammed in it's place. He imagined the burst of laughter they would most likely be in; "looks like we stopped him in his tracks" he thought - "that's right tom, we sure showed that old man!".

"not today you little bastards!" He shouted out, and took a few steps back; and charged forward at the door, the side of his body hitting it hard and the closet door swings open violently, he almost falls to the ground as he stumbles inside, instead quickly catching his balance.

Composing himself, he straightened up, catching any breath he may had exhausted from charging at the door, also feeling a fairly sharp pain in his left shoulder.
"Ooww.. " he muttered, as he rubbed his shoulder in hopes of temporary comfort. "i suppose i'm a little too old for being so gun-ho" he chuckled to himself. almost unaware of the sharp needle-like pain that he feels immediately.
"JESUS CHRIST!" he yells, a tear trickles down his cheek as he quickly looks down to see what just bit his ankle. a excited looking Grunny peers up at him as their eyes meet.
"WHY YOU LITTLE....." He's about to boot the tar out of the little creature until he notices it's ears flap down in fear.
"....awwwwwwwwwwwwww" He bends down to offer his hand to the Grunny, trying to extend his apologies with a gesture he thought would work just as well on this type of creature. "It's ok little fella..i'm sorry i got angry, you don't know any bett..."
His words come to a halt as the Grunny again bites his hand, harder then his ankle.
"AAGGGH! OH MY HOLY CHRIST STOP THAT!!" He screamed out in pain as he tore his hand away, he then decided this wasn't doing well for him and made way for the Dinning room door to his left.

He looks back to see if the Grunny is still there.
"AAAHHHH!" He screamed as a second Grunny had seemed to join the first one, both peering at him with what looked like hungry eyes.
He Franticly kept on trying to open the door but it just wouldn't budge.

He continues to try opening the door, when finally, it opens, and he falls through it, landing on the dining room floor. he turns and slams the closet door quickly.
"Pheww...." he leans his back up against the door, and rests.

The night air was crisp, and the moon was full and hung high in the sky. The clouds crawled by, framing it in an ominous way.
JB walked carefully up the steps to the front of the desolate mansion. She had heard of people entering, but none had ever returned. She would find out what was going on.
The door handle was cold to the touch. It's metallic finish corroded from years of wear. Soon she would enter.

The handle wouldn't budge. JB tried again with a little more force. The door seemed stuck in place, taunting her. She looked about her, making sure no one was around. She stepped off the front steps and began walking around the mansion.
The grounds were massive, the outer walls stretching forever as JB began to job to get around. There must be a back door.
After what seemed like hours, she spotted a large, ornate door in the back of the property. The gardens were behind her, a beautiful fountain its centerpiece. Large rose bushed were its companions, and JB couldn't help herself as she reached out and picked one in full bloom. She brought it up to her nose and then placed it gently in her hair.
She walked up to the back door, wondering into which room it would lead. She reached for the knob, silently praying this one would open.

The knob turned quietly, the door slowly creaking open almost on its own. There was a fireplace tucked into one corner of the room, but dust and cobwebs covered every nook and cranny. Tall, empty shelves lined the walls. Once hundreds of books would've lined them, but now they were void.
JB looked around, hoping to find something that may help her make it through the mansion.

Shuffling around in the dark, JB reached up to the top shelves, running her hands along, hoping to find something; anything. The dingy windows let through on small slivers of moonlight, and JB sighed, contemplating why she had not packed a flashlight or candle.
A muffled noise interrupted her search, and JB quickly stopped her movement. She listened carefully, barely daring to breathe. Soft, sibilant foot steps were creeping closer. Her eyes drifted over her shoulder, and a gasp escaped her lips. A ghastly creature was stalking her, sharp fangs peering out from beneath its lips. It snarled, its face morphing into something less than human.
JB dashed for the door she had entered only moments before. A cold, clawed hand grabbed for her arm, but she managed to make it through the door, running until she was well near the fountain. She chanced a glance into the room through the open door. Nothing stirred. Had she imagined the whole thing? Had there been a vampire there at all?
Shaking her head, she walked back into the library.

As she stepped into the library. JB noticed that nothing had changed: none of the cobwebs had stirred, and the footprints in the dust were only her own.
She sighed quietly, leaning against a bookcase roughly. A loud thud caused her to jump away in surprise, and a book fell to the floor. It was old and musty, much like everything else in the old library.
JB lifted it into her arms, taking the flower from her hair and pressing it gently between the pages of the book.
The shuffling returned, but this time too quickly for the girl to react. She cried out in pain as the creature grabbed her and sunk its teeth into her neck. In a panicky attempt, JB swung the book around, catching the vampire in the face. It bared its fangs menacingly, a faint smile visible in its ugly features. JB stared back, only to watch it hurry away, laughing.
She lifted her hand to her wound: it wasn't deep, so she would let it be for now. Tucking the book away, she walked toward the door on the western wall.
EDIT: Oops, sorry to break character, but this should've been a 1d6, oh well, it still works.
