AmigurumiJain I took a break from my challenging amigurumi design to whip up a couple of Christmas gifts: flower wristlets for my nieces. I still have to assemble them and add the zippers. ...please tell me how to make those. ;_; They are super cute and look like something I'd use. biggrin

Yes, agreed. Would it be possible to post the pattern or a link to said wonderful pattern? I think one of my baby cousins would like one of those.
Would they work in a spandex yarn without a zipper do you think? Maybe with a little cord elastic?

Well I just kind of made it up as I went along. The pattern for the flower I got from my crochet book and the rest is just double crochet.
Flower:
I'm going to type this basically as it is in the book and then just answer any questions you might have. The way the book words it is a little confusing but it was more confusing they way I was trying to fix it, lol. These types of flower patterns are all over the internet so just use whatever one you like.
Step One: Make the center using the first color. Work a round of 1 dc, ch 2 into a foundation ring for a total of eight spaced dc (like a wagon wheel). Join the round with a slst, then work a petal of [1 sc, ch 1, 2 dc, ch 1, 1 sc] into each ch space. Join with a slst. Finish off.
Step Two: Turn the flower over and working from the wrong side, join the second color with a slst to a spoke of the first color. Ch 6 (counts as the first dc and ch 3), *work 1 dc around the post of the next spoke, ch 3.* Repeat from * to * to the end. Join with a slst into the third ch of the ch 3.
Step Three: Turn the flower over. Working from the right side, ch 1, work a petal of [1 sc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 sc] into each chain loop. Join the round with a slst into the first sc. Finish off.
Step Four: Repeat step two to join the third color to a spoke of the second color. (I only used two colors) Work a round of chain loops as above but work ch 7 (counts as 1 dc and ch 4) to begin and ch 4 to make each loop. Repeat step 3 to make petals but work [1 sc, ch 1, 4 dc, ch 1, 1 sc] into each space.
Purse:
For the front and back panels of the purse I just did dc back and forth. Ch 32, dc in the third ch from hook and dc all the way across. Ch 2, turn. Dc all the way across. Repeat to desired height, I did 11 rows. For the front panel I just changed color on the 6th row and did four rows of the second color to make a stripe, then one more row of the first color.
Strap:
For the strap I did the same as the purse part but I only did three rows and alternated the colors on each row. Fold it in half and attach it wherever you like.
I have not finished putting the zipper in or sewing them together yet. I think I am going to try to add a lining as well although I have no experience with this so we'll see how it goes. I'm sure you could use whatever yarn you want with elastic cord or anything else to make it work. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and hopefully I can explain it better.

New photos today! I finished the wristlets. They now have linings and zippers, woo hoo! The stitches are showing and they are a little rough but they are for kids and it was my first try. I've got one more to finish in green. I also finished a skinny scarf for my sister-in-law. It's made with Moda Dea Dream yarn, yummmmy! It's like a lattice pattern so it has little square holes all through it.

Woah, that's a big update! Those purses turn out so cute! Hell, for not really doing lining or zippers before, they look really good. Honestly. Zippers are hell.
The scarf looks good too. I like ones that have lacy patterns on it, usually makes 'em lay a little flatter and not bunch up too much.

AmigurumiJain That is freaking adorable!! heart Great job! He's so cute! You have no idea! He is the happiest baby I have ever met!!! And he's sneaky!!! He cries. . . but fake cries just to get your attention. He's not crawling yet but he's SOOOOO CLOSE (but then he face plants. UGGGH. LoL ) Since he's so young he doesn't talk yet, but he's very vocal and kind of yell's like "ahhhhh" and that scares his cousin and makes him cry (his cousin is a month older than him). OHHHHH MAN!! Babies are just too cute for thier own good!!! ^.^
