Say it isn't so ....

Pro Street is getting bad reviews.

And the ps2 version looks like crap wiped off the ugly tree. scream
I thought Carbon looked really good on the ps2. But they made the ps2 version look like a ps1 game! how is that possible!?

wasn't expecting much of the ps2 version but i just need a fast gaming PC for pro street and we'll see how beautiful the game really is

But come on! Carbon was decent for the ps2. infact, I loved Carbon's visuals.

But the framerate problem and the aliasing is BAD on the ps2 ver. of ProStreet

which is why PC is better of course wink if you can try to play NFSPS on PC

Seems like you'd need a ridiculous computer for this game; way too much for a racing game which isn't a simulator... Not even an 8800 GTX can cut it for owners of 24-inch displays.

I guess I was wrong ... the ps2 version is decent . The web shots of the game are horrible. mrgreen

but also on the downside the PS2 only has 49 cars out of 70 which is on PC/360/PS3

49 is pretty impressive. Considering the amount of customization that goes into each car.
How many cars did Carbon have? I dont remember it having 49 ...

My question :
How flexible is customization in pro street? Now that can make spoilers look like airplane wings... how about bumpers?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 29, 2007 6:49 pm

Right now I'm unsure of how flexible the customization is in Pro Street....game didn't come yet.......might need to ask DigitalKnight95 on the customization

finally I got the chance to play pro street for ps2.

My impression overall are good. not great. only good.

The physics are great! It feels like a real car. Locations are good. but I agree with some reviews that they can feel very empty.
The biggest impression is the new manual/clutch system. Altough, it may get very confusing the first time using it. It feels like I am actually shifting the car. good job ea.

Bads: Craptastic resolution. Maybe it's because it's running on a big wide screen HDTV ... and since it's a ps2 ... there are jaggies everywhere. Also, the custimization can get extrememely slow, especially the vinyl part.

my score : 7/10 for ps2. I am sure if I played it on a next gen console, my score would be higher. I am leaning towards getting a x360... we shall see.

interesting review...and think the reason why the vinyl and customization is slow is that the ps2 doesn't have processing power and memory to hold everything like the next gen consoles

Yea, I experienced slow downs with vinyls with Carbon as well.

Ea has done a good job with the closed courses , although they may feel very empty, that's how they are in real life ... haven't you seen formula d? the tracks look just like that!

IF I worked for EA, I would have included more human animations on the track. For example ... a crowd system that would react the the players driving style and photographers on the sidelines. I realize that prostreet has crowds, but somehow I'd like the tracks to be more tight with people behind the fences on the course .

That reminds me... I'd like to see more night tracks. The lighting from spotlights and the flash from photographers would be another element of game play.

here's a good idea of what I want the next NFS to be like.

I've seen some next gen screens, and I am disappointed about the ground textures... there needs to be more skid marks !

I really hope the NEXT nfs will be better... haha
