Today was kind of weird. Ichi decided that it was time to go out to one of our backyards and do some...'pumpkin smashing'. In the fall. I thought it you smashed WATERMELONs in the SUMMER at the BEACH. I even told her so. You know what she said?
"Well, Trae, when it's autumn, and there are pumpkins in our backyard, what else are we going to do? CARVE THEM? Yeah..right. You're so silly."
What.
So, while I was fozen in disbelief, she nonchalantly dragged my stiff body towards that beach while everyone else followed with wooden mallets in our hands. I did not realize that we owned a wooden mallet, much less SIX wooden mallets. Does no one see Ichi's insanity? DOES NO ONE BUT ME SEE IT?! It's there!
But, I participated in the pumpkin smashing, anyway. It was actually a lot of fun. Blame the little boy in me. He likes to smash things and have the splatter all over everything. But, for some reason, Phin didn't do any of the smashing. We had more than 6 pumpkins. There was definitely a lot to go around.
Does he not have a little boy who likes to smash and make things splatter on the inside? I will investigate.
