@Septomor: Give Mozart's D minor concerto a try. I think you'll like it.
I'd like to mention Saint-Saens' 5th Piano Concerto :3 It's my favourite one out of his piano concertos.

Septomor Actually, I've never listened to a Mozart piano concerto, nor Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto, so I wouldn't know. But I really want to hear Greig's becuase I heard the opening motive and it was awesome. BLASPHEMY! SINS! Oh noes... There are 27. Pick one! xd I'd suggest the no. 20 and the no. 24. They're the only ones in minor keys, and the C minor (no. 24) was Beethoven's favourite, if I remember correctly. The Grieg is wonderful, as is the third Rachmaninoff. I am liking them very much. 3nodding @Asian Trix: But Ravel's Concerto for the left hand is wonderful! Granted, Prokofiev's is a little bit...insane...but it's still incredible! @Wings: I don't listen to nearly as much Saint-Saens as I should...I've only heard the 1st and 2nd Piano Concertos...

Rolf I guess I could upgrade my selection of Mozart a little. So far, the only Mozart section that I love is the Dies Irae from the requiem. Of course, I like all Dies Iraes. @Aristocrat: How about the second symphony in C minor (I think that's right) for organ. I think it's really awesome.
Also if we could make an exception I think the totentanz should be considered one of the greatest piano and orchestra works.

Emmanuela Left handed concertos? I feel ignorant... Most were written as a dedication to Paul Wittgenstein, an Austrian pianist who lost his right arm in World War One. When he returned to his career he commissioned works from composers such as Ravel, Prokofiev and Britten. In my book on the evolution of the Concerto form, it says that he refused to play Prokofiev's Concerto, and that's why it was the only one of his complete Piano Concertos that was never performed within his lifetime...

I [personally] do not prefer listening to Ravel's left handed concerto. The structure of it is kinda odd.. it's like... lento/allegro/tempo 1 correct? i'm not sure if the 1st movement is lento or largo, but i just don't like it. D: Oh, you forgot Korngold's and Schmidt's left handed piano concertos. D:

I've always dreaded hearing the opening of the 1st movement, then the loud opening of the 2nd movement. The 3rd movement... eh... was questionable... just the glissando interested me, and that was it. D: I actually like Von Weber's Piano Concerto, and Moszkowski's. XD
