I came back from the movie theatre about a half hour ago and I'm in love with it still. Wow.

Well, onto the spoilers, I think. It's hard for me to talk about the film without going into every single aspect.

Okay, it's not a perfect film. I was confused at some parts. Ranbir was kicked around some, and... I don't know. It was confusing for me and I'm not exactly sure why. I don't know how he got up that quickly. Why it was important to the film. Why he wanted to, uh, sleep with Rani. Well, I understand that... he was rejected, feeling lonely. But why didn't they hit that on the movie? It seems they left a lot to be implied. They never even said "prostitute" in the movie. That was definitely implied. It was amusing, though, Rani's line to Lillipop. I had a huge kick out of that, heee.

Even for a prostitute, Rani looked gorgeous. Every scene she was in, I was trying to look at everything. What she was wearing (beautiful colors!), her earrings (those were huge! they tugged her ear down like mad), her hairstyle (gorgeous, always), and her makeup. Oh, she was gorgeous in the film and I was happy to see her. Although, I did expect her to have a smaller role! It was nice to see her, nonetheless...

Ranbir was amazing. I see so much coming from him in the future. I cannot wait to see him in more movies because I know he will excell so much! He was such a delight to watch and he really was the one to watch in the scenes. He has so much going for him. I don't know if he's signed onto more films (I know Sonam is planning on doing one with Akshay, if I'm not mistaken), but so many filmmakers should be going after him. He just seems like such a natural!

I was really, really mad at Salman. And I don't know if I ever will not want to hurt him. Fine, whatever. I don't like him anymore. I was so upset that he ended up with the girl in the first place. I understand, they didn't really want to go crazy in depth with why he was gone or whatever, but why did he need to be gone? Le sigh. Ranbir would never, ever leave her, and he gets shut out in the cold. Fine, whatever. And the last line from Salman? I forget what it is, but I am outraged by it. If I was on Salman's side of the table, that would be the line to cry at. That would be the line where the viewer is like, "Oh, they are meant for each other!" But, no. It just makes me angry that Sonam didn't go with the guy who quit his job for her--just to see her and hopefully she would return his feelings. And Salman couldn't even put off his depature (for whatever reason) for the one that he loved. Um, yeah. Whatever.

I knew, about thirty minutes to end, that it was going to end badly. I mean, I saw Devdas. I know how SLB works. Salman didn't even get the girl in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, if I'm not mistaken. Aishwarya went with Askhay, even though she was with Salman first. I knew that something was going to happen. I didn't know if someone was going to die or if Salman would come back. I actually didn't really think he'd come back... he was just in the flashback and it was just wishful thinking for Sonam. But that's okay. Whatever.

The scenary was gorgeous. It was so, so, so pretty. Although it rained a lot. Storms, that's okay. It only added to the depressing nature of the film. But... snow? Now, I am not exactly familiar with the climate of India (I thought it was in India anyway--there aren't many other places where you would find all of these Indians in a town, right?), but it snowed. I am confused. It... snowed. Well, it added to the film, sure... I don't know how I feel about it.

Something that I love about Bollywood films is the music. I like it to be evenly spaced throughout the entire movie. Something about Koi... Mil Gaya is that my two favorite songs, Idhar Chala Mein Udhar Chala and Koi Mil Gaya, are about ten minutes away from each other. Kal Ho Naa Ho is pretty good with their music, but It's The Time To Disco and Kuch To Hua Hai are cutting it close. Devdas had some close moments with some songs, too... but, anyway, in Saawariya, I think there were four songs in the first twenty minutes (maybe even less!). Not that any were bad, of course. They were all amazing and I enjoyed watching them, but I was hit and I was hit hard with the songs. And then the pace slowed down and I was happy with that. Lot of songs, though, in a two hour and fifteen minute movie. They gotta shove them somewhere, right?

Anyway. The songs that stand out in my mind now are Saawariya (of course!), Masha-Allah, the one where Ranbir isn't really wearing anything (which I will touch on later), and Rani's songs with her fellow prostitutes. I can't really remember which ones those are right now, but I love, love, loved Rani's whole song! I just loved it to bits! And I don't even know what it's called. She was so good at it and the dancing was amazing. Oh, I really enjoyed listening and watching that. (If someone could tell me which song it was, I'd appreciate it; I'm a little busy to be going through all the Saawariya songs.) And, about Ranbir's, uh, towel song. I'll say what Bolly Girl said: I don't want to see Ranbir's behind. I was like OH GOD when I saw it. I mean, sure, he isn't overweight and he is nice to look at, but... no. I don't know why they chose to do that anyway. I would never reveal myself next to an open window, even if it was directly facing a wall. I mean, sure, he's in love. But he doesn't need to go around in a towel singing a song...

Honestly, at some points, I was kind of upset with how little Sonam was in the movie. I thought to myself, "Rani's more in this movie than Sonam is!" Okay, now, that isn't necessarily true, I know. But I was hoping to see a lot of her. I got to see a lot of Ranbir and I was happy about this (fantastic actor!), but I also feel like maybe Sonam wasn't given a chance to shine. I wish she could have been in it more. She is pretty, nonetheless. And has very, very long hair. Wow. That musta been to her waist and then some. I don't know how well she will be in Bollywood (or wherever she decides to go!), but maybe it's just I didn't see enough of her as I did Ranbir in the film. Either way, I do hope she does well.

It was really a delight to watch and the end really makes you cry. I am glad I said whatever to the film critics and saw it anyway because it was worth it. It's not a perfect film (okay, Om Shanti Om isn't perfect, either), and really--how many of you have seen perfect films? It gets a little runny sometimes, but then Ranbir pops on screen and makes you smile. So, really, it's all worth it. I'm not harsh on my grades that I give movies, so I think I'd give it a 4.5/5.0--and, of course, I'd round up to 5/5.

Which song was Pari? I'm not too good with some songs, remembering which order they were in and whatever...

Anyway, sometimes they didn't exactly connect the dots. I think the guy she was running from was some dirty man who thought she was a prostitute since she was out late at night. Later, she was like, I can walk home myself, and left and there were three other guys down the street, and then she got freaked--maybe something like that?

I completely agree. There were no songs that were "let's get up and dance" sort of thing. Then again, SLB's films don't have that stuff in them and that's kind of what I like about his films.

I think with the Masha Allah song and the towel song, I would have done something differently, especially since they were incredibly close together... I am definitely not a filmmaker, but I think I might've either done Masha Allah a little bit later and combined the songs, or done Masha Allah earlier, immediately after meeting (with the love at first sight thing), with dialogue in the song (they did that during another song, I know).

The stuff with Salman and the bridge is true. She was just going off on her own way, and he must have been waiting there for a while? I don't know... hmm.

I loved that box unhappiness bit. Aw, Ranbir just stole my heart at that line. I don't know why Sonam chose Salman anyway. It goes back to that whole thing that Ranbir did everything for her while Salman decided to leave her for a year and make her wait and torment her. Sigh. (It is making sense to me that he might have been a terrorist. It did leave things left to be implied, you know... and he seemed a bit like Aamir Khan in Fanaa, all terroristy.)

By the way, the safety pins thing was a little creepy with Salman. I actually didn't catch that with Sonam sleeping with Salman. But. Creepy. I don't think she would have done that... I actually thought that she just was crazy stalker and fell asleep in his bed being a crazy stalker, LOL. Yeah, but the safety pins got rid of that theory.

By the way, I totally loved that beginning with Rani and Ranbir. Both were so good! And Ranbir is snazzy with his dance moves, too. It was really lovely watching him do his thing. smile

Okay then...is 'Let's go box unhappiness' part of the movie or something?

I really doubt hollywood wanted to see ranbir's behind.
