Shessho Kiaba I like the old version of Fox better than this version. i also hope that Fox wont be as fast as Sonic!(no affence) I heard somewhere that Sonic will be the fastest character in the game (makes sense), so don't worry about anyone surpassing him.

The laser blasting was really cheap, plus the fact that if you threw a pokeball at him and he reflected it, the pokemon acts as if it came from him! evil I hate that! I guess they tried to counterballance his speed + cheap attacks (tilt down and A) with his fast falling... It was quite comedic if you just got back on and did a wimpy attack to get him off the stage, then a projectile so he reflects it, but falls too far and can't recover. rofl

Fox McCloud 127517 Fox is awsum and kicks a**, so dont be dissin him Awww, aren't you cute. Well, just so you know, Fox isn't so awesome/broken in Brawl. They've toned him down a great deal. He's now likely to sit square in the second Tier. Sucks for him.

But you have to realize that Fox can be one of the most annoying characters to fight in Melee when he's used by a good player. That's the reason for people "dissin him." And you have to admit, it's true.

i liked Falco much better than Falco cause he was faster and jumped higher razz

I used Fox because he was good at mid-range. Close range crushes me easy and long range is annoying as all would mostly agree for a fighting game. The only moves I may have exploited were the up air attack and using the reflector to zap my opponents when they were too close. I would use the reflector for strong projectiles too, but that's only when they were aimed right at me. If it's going to miss or isn't even meant for me I just leave it alone. People called me annoying though because apparently mid-range (What? 5 feet?) is still running away rolleyes . And I do use the upward smash, but only in dire situations. I know how pumped up he was, but I don't exploit those things. My main fight was in air attacks like standard and back...And Falco has little horizontal ability and too much vertical ability compared to Fox (from what I could see).

Fox McCloud 127517 then they just need to get better It's not just a case of "getting better". Fox, in melee, was a fighter with A LOT of advantages over everyone else. So, someone like Bowser or Ganondorf wouldn't stand a chance against a pro using Fox. But, like Talwar126 said, Fox has been toned down a lot in Brawl. So, you may have to get used to some new strategies against people.

I don't know about better than ever but... I will admit, that he was a fairly cheap character. I'm a bit disappointed he was toned down, but, it was for the best.

some people don't like the idea of Fox being made weaker but it is needed.
Even a semi-good fox player can soon tromp anyone not using a top tier character (From my experience, Shiek and Marth are about the only two that can hold there own against a good Fox.)
If gimpy E4All reports are true, it's for the best.

I've never really liked fox, i rarely used him in melee and only used him once in the original.
