"Oh, and mind the poltergeist, dear! He's not the friendlist of beings in the castle...." The older witch calls out, waving her wand haphazardly in the air as she does so.
Neither, she thinks privately, are some of the teachers, but perhaps Sable won't run into any of them...she sighs, shakes her head, and flicks her wand again. Coffee pours out into a cup on her desk. It's going to be a long day...there's so much to get done before the term starts.
She eyes Kasai, and nods. "Yes, right there. Then you're free to wander the castle and grounds as you please; just don't go into the Forest or the third floor corridor on the right-hand side."

The witch, who, with the quieting down of the area, had gone back to her desk to sit, looks up in surprised as someone else strolls through the door. She offers him a smile. "Of course, sir. Just sign the parchment," She says, pointing the tip of her quill towards the signup sheet. "Forbidden Forest and the third floor corridor on the right-hand side are forbidden, but other than that, you're welcome to go about and explore. And ask questions, too, of me or any of the teachers."

Not suspecting anything unusual, the witch nods cheerfully to the stranger on his way out, before returning to her work, rubbing her eyes with a hand. She makes an irritated gesture, and the light in the room rises a notch. It's getting dark out...she'll be closing soon. She yawns. The days are getting shorter. Term will start soon...and then she'll be back at the Ministry. She'll miss seeing the children running around underfoot.
The firelight from the torches flicker off of her blond hair. Outside, a mournful howl, muffled by the windows, begins, and the last light of the day is quickly disappearing.

*The buildings simple imposition was enough to impress the man , not of size but of structure. Keeping his ears trained on the outside , he made his way along the banister and toward a guest room...hoping for a faint detection of what he was here for...but alas he found nothing but the wind , the leaves and the brisk winter air that pervaded him and stiffned his senses to the bone.

Leth, with a start, slipped from the room. She'd begin exploring right away! She hummed lightly under her breath, a catchy tune, but surely made up. Her honey gaze flickered about and she headed toward the great hall.
She wanted to see it all; where the students ate, where they slept (though she wasn't certain she was allowed to see their sleeping quarters..), the library, the dungeons. So much more. She'd even explore the forrest if they'd let her! But she knew that was rather dangerous, and perhaps a bit foolish.

Lauryn, after letting a few more people sign the Visitors' parchment, strode up to the desk yet again. "Excuse me, but do you have a recommendation of where to visit?" Having never been to Hogwarts before, she knew she would be rather lost without a little guidance of where to start.

Upon entering the great hall a deligted gasp slipped from her lips. Her eyes traveled the length of it, then at the vacant tables. Slowly they flicked toward the teacher's table, and a thought slipped through her head. She'd wondered when she'd be able to meet one of the teachers here.
For that matter; would she meet any? She realized she'd been standing in the doorway, and quickly moved to the side. She knew she wasnt exactly blocking the doorway, but she didn't think it right to just stand there.
Her steps carried her up and down the great hall, past each table, even though nothing disinguished one from the other. Yet. After looking at the student tables she traveled up toward the teachers'.

Lethrossen might not run into a teacher...but there's definately a man in the far side of the hall near one of the doors. He's got a scruffy, rather nasty look about him, with frayed dark clothes and a scrunched up, unfriendly expression. He's holding a cat rather possessively, and glowering at the female.
"What're you doing here?" He barks out, with a slight accent, glaring at Lethrossen as if she'd done something quite terrible.
--------------
The witch, meanwhile, smiles good-naturedly at Lauryn - indeed, one wonders what she'd be like if she was mad. It just doesn't fit her personality. "Well, the Great Hall is always a nice place to see...and our Quidditch Field, very nice...you can go in some of the dormatories, perhaps, but you must find a teacher, they're hidden, you see. The Astronomy Tower always has a good lookout, too. I'd also try to talk with some of the staff...they might be able to answer any questions you have concerning the place."

Lethrossen jumped quite a bit as her gaze took in the man. Why hadn't she noticed him before? Her gaze flickered over him and both brows rose in a swift motion, fear turning into doubt, thinking this man was not much of a threat.
Little did she know this was the care taker (as I assume), and he didn't like much of anything from the looks of it. With all the dignity she could muster she relplied, "I'm a visitor." she nodded, as if that cleared it all up.

A scruffy dog stalks through the castle like a black shadow looking for the right way to go. Reaching a certain statue he hops up for a moment and then dissapears with a unnoticable click. Looking behind him to watch the statue close up behind him he smiles a wolfish grin before shaking himself and shifting to human. Brushing off a bit of dust of his ragged robes he saunters off down to the kitchens to haggle for a bit to eat.

Millie walks in again after leaving to go home. She walks up the stairs to the visitors dormitories. She sees the other girls. "Hello, I am Millie." She flips her hair and walks to her bed.

Daeva slowly let herself into the castle and took a look around, smiling somewhat triumphantly to herself as she spied the small sign marking the visitor's center. Ducking into the room, she nods some, taking in the witch sitting behind a desk. After clearing her throat, she states quietly, "Excuse me, I'd like to be able to tour the castle if that would be alright.."

(Millie - term hasn't started yet, there's no students in the castle yet. wink Sirius - are you RPing as Sirius? xd I'd rather you not, since he's a Feature Character...and I'm not sure who's going to RP him yet, or who's going to RP the other FCs, for that matter. sweatdrop Or if anyone's going to want them, since the non-student characters won't get images. whee )
Argus Filch scowls at Lethrossen. "A visitor?" He purses his lips in a fashion that's clearly unbelieving, brows knitting together. But before he can say anything more, a thin, severe-looking woman in meticulously-clean ebony robes enters the Hall from a side doorway, carrying several leather-bound books.
"Professor!" Filch says eagerly, his manner completely changing. "I just caught Peeves...he broke one of the grandfather clocks on the third floor...do you know where the Headmaster is?"
"Upstairs in his office, I should think," The tall, older female says primly. With a glint in his eye, the caretaker quickly shuffles off, completely ignoring Lethrossen now.
"A visitor, are you? I'm Minerva McGonagall, deputy headmistress and Transfiguration teacher here at Hogwarts," the newcomer says demurely to Lethrossen.
---------------------------------------------------
"No, dear, you can't have anymore," comes a voice from inside the visitor's center. A small screech owl is sitting, rather mournfully, on the witch's desk, wings folded back as his beak nibbles at the witch's pen. "And don't try to make me feel sorry for you," She says sternly. "You've had three already."
She glances upwards as Daeva enters, and smiles warmly. "Another visitor, eh? Just sign up on the sheet, dear, please, then you're free to wander the castle and grounds if you like. All except the third floor corridor on the right-hand side, and the Forest...those're off-limits at the moment."
