The supernova was just an uber powerful weapon. For me, it never actually landed near the enemies that I wanted to hit, making it really inaccurate. I didn't really like the fact that you couldn't pick up ammo for it in normal crates, you had to buy it for a high price in a weapons vendor. It is a good gun, but for me doesn't have enough bang for its buck.

The sheer power would melt our insignificant fingers. And if we managed to fire it, we'd be propelled against the wall and would probably be on fire...

If it wasn't that would be super illogical. I think Ratchet might just be super strong though. I mean, he can carry 50 huge weapons and gadgets in his physically impossible pockets, along with all their ammo, and still manage to do back flips. And he can make robots explode ith a few whacks from his wrench...

The part about killing robots with his wrench is not as true as the games progress...
I'd say the weapons shrink when he's not using them, and the ammo is stored in Clank's little inventory box.

Its still loads of rather large handles. But I guess you could just put it down to 'game logic'.
