"Don't worry Scorver, I don't fight unless there's something to gain, and as of yet I don't know of anything that I'd gain here that I couldn't get without a fight. And as for who sent me... Let's just say I was forced to come to this place against my will, but at the same time, I don't see any gain I would get in going back. So I thought I'd look around, stay a while... And if you don't want trouble, I won't make it... Unless someone makes it towards me of course." Mitsotsu has stood straight up by now, still not quite sure this man won't attack him.

"Your body language says a lot about you. You've never been in an army before have you? Fighting in an army in some land you have never even heard of? Well, I have." He crosses his arms around his chest. "It sounds like you may be a little driven. It has been quiet here in Gulthiac as of late. Perhaps things are going to change..."

For the life of himself, Mitsotsu couldn't tell if he liked or disliked Scorver. "And why would being in an army matter? I'd be the one doing all the work to start the war... or stop it, depending." He had said more than he meant to, but it was too late now. "What are you expecting from me exactly?"

((Sorry, thought of a better way to say it.))

"I'm just testing you. You lost the dominant position in our conversation very early on. I am only trying to help you. Being in an army gives you a little more conviction. Its a rough experience." He gives him an honest look. "I expect nothing from you, other than you to answer me plainly, which you have. There are things about me that you still dont know..."

Mitsotsu chuckled inside his head. It's kind of useless to try talking to people when you've just slit their throat. "Never found the so called 'ideals' of the army life to be too appealing myself. And if you're going to point out that I don't know much about you, how about you just tell me about yourself?"

"I dont think you understand the magnitude of your situation here. I delay telling you about myself to learn more about you. Otherwise the things I would learn would be skewed. I am the prince of this entire Godforsaken country." He puts one hand onto the hilt of his sword.

"So that's it then." Mitsotsu makes sure to make no moves towards his weapon, standing perfectly still. "I'll say again, I don't make trouble unless people make it towards me. Besides, I can already tell you've got a lot of power to you, and I don't do useless fights unless my life is in danger. Is that your intent, or are you still wanting to help me, Your Highness?" ((I think that's the right one for a prince... Majesty would be the king... sorry if I'm off.)) He bowed his head slightly, showing respect but not admiration.

"Do not waste such titles on me. I am not 'high' nor am I majestic. I am soldier of this kingdom and nothing more. I will never rule. I will probably breathe my last breath far from here, doing something of little importance in the scope of time. But that was the position I was born into." He draws his sword and examines it. The blade is long and narrow and the hilt is quite ornate.

"We are different then. I myself love battle. I revel in it to an extent. I dont always care to kill but the sport of it is incredible. Havent you ever dueled?" He points his sword towards Mitsotsu.

Mitsotsu's arm moved of its own accord now, his hand resting on the handle of the sickle attatched to his lower back. "You misunderstand me. It's not that I don't like battle... quite the opposite. I've just learned that some battles are more... fruitful that others. As for dueling... It depends on who it is and if there's something to gain. If not, then protecting my existance will have to suffice. Are you challenging me?"

((I kinda want to keep Mitsotsu's story in one continuous flow, and I want to continue and don't know if I'll catch ya tomorrow. So I'm going to move on without ya for a bit Ninja if you don't mind. If you want to have Scorver and Mitsotsu talk again, just pop up where he is. Thanks for getting me started. ^_^))

After a pause, Mitsotsu relaxed his body, moving his hand away from his weapon. "Well, if you want to challenge me, then feel free to do it officially sometime. But for now I don't know enough about you or this place to have any reason to take you on. Besides... I gotta work out the kinks first."

Walking away with a slight flick of the wrist as a wave over his shoulder, Mitsotsu decided to check out a book on the layout of the surrounding area. This would at least give him a little bit of bearings on where he was, if not what he could do from here. After randomly walking down aisles for an assorted amount of time, he finally found what he was looking for.

Taking a seat at a nearby desk, he read by moonlight, taking in as much of the information as he could. A few places caught his eye in the text, but he thought he should check out a place that didn't seem to terribly dangerous for the time being at his weakened state, and he chose upon the old factory that was not too far from here.

Placing the book back in its spot on the shelf, he slowly made his way back to the door past the giantess. With a quick glance back at her, he nudged the door open and stepped outside, making a point to shut the door behind him.

Shasta knew of an entrance to the Ruined Wing. Careful to go unnoticed, he slipped into a largely unused door. It took him to an old, stone stair case. The air grew cooler as he slowly descended it and the air carried slight scent of mold.

The bottom of the staircase led to a dark hallway that ran perpendicular to it. Shasta took a right, being as careful and quiet as he could. The door at the very end of the hall was where Shasta was headed; it led to a path to the Ruined Wing. A slight breeze intermittently pushed from the crack underneath the door, making it rattle in its frame and causing eerie howls. Shasta almost thought he could hear something scratching on the other side in concert with the rattles. He paused for a moment to listen.

“It’s all in your head…”

One of the electric lamps on the walls was still receiving a small amount of power, emitting a dim, flickering glow. Shasta could see that the hallway was aligned w/ book cases that were mostly empty. Now only tattered pieces of paper and torn book covers, faded and pale w/ water stains and age, were left behind, scattered on the floor and laying on shelves. The books of value were likely moved further up into the 'newer' areas of the Library.

Shasta continued down the gloomy hallway. He decided the noises from the door were random enough to be attributed to the wind. Making his way to the door he rigged the rusty handle and went in.

(I am leaving the Library)

Mitsotsu woke with a start, his eyes darting back in forth in a panic. His breathing was eradic at best, and a cold sweat had broken out all over his body. Where was he? His eyes soon focused enough to see that he was in a library of sorts- correction, the library he had been in earlier. As a matter of fact, as his breathing slowed somewhat, Mitsotsu could see that he was sitting at the desk he had been sitting at when researching the surrounding area. Somehow the book that he knew he had put back on the shelf had found it's way back on the desk as well. Was it a dream? But no, he remembered it far too well. It must have been some power of this place. Some sort of Goddess must have been looking over him, and somehow he had been revived here. But what would he do from here? It would take him at least a few moments before he decided on what his next action would be. In the meantime Mitsotsu tried to calm his body down by opening the book in front of him to study about this place again...

Mitsotsu's eyes roamed over the pages in the book. Nothing seemed to be of much interest, though he didn't know what he had been expecting. It wasn't like his way was going to be spelled out for him in writing, especially in the first book he had found.

Turning one last page, his eyes fell on a few words that had been scribbled in the corner, almost like a footnote. It was on the page describing a so-called "Great Cathedral", the lettering sporadic, as if the writer was in terrible fear.

Be wary of the catacombs! THE CATACOMBS!

Mitsotsu read through the description of the Great Cathedral, and saw no mention of these catacombs anywhere else. Of course the warning had said to stay away... Mitsotsu chuckled to himself at this thought. Of course he would go to check it out. At the very least there might be something there that would tell him about the people who had sent him here...

As he got up and walked to the door, he cursed under his breath at the bother of having to walk. Normally he would be able to teleport, or at the very least use his wings, but apparently the curse had suspended these abilities as well. Hopefully he could deal with this problem soon, as the small versions of his wings were visibly twitching to be used. He forced the doors open as he walked out into the darkness of the streets once again, trying to force his failure from earlier out of his mind.

((I know teleport and flying are automatic abilities, but I'm suspending them for Mitsotsu temporarily for RP reasons. Hope it's okay.))

(Incapacitated in the Sewers.)

Mitsotsu once again startled awake, this time almost knocking his chair over. He swore audibly, slamming his fist on the table and causing the book in front of him to jump a few inches before slamming back down on the desktop. He hadn't even made it too the Cathedral which was the original plan... Though... He had found out that there was something worth guarding in the sewers, otherwise why would a Spectral Knight be down there? Still, having succumbed to death twice now, Mitsotsu was visibly strained, lying his head down on the desk. Maybe he should wait and get some sap to join up with him to get to his goals? Find out what was in the sewers, and what was in those catacombs. Either way, he was gonna take a few moments off... In a few more instances, Mitsotsu had thrown caution to the wind, falling into a deep sleep...
