edwardsvampire101 Bella did get on my nerves at times like when she expected to have both Jacob and Edward that made me mad! I did not blame her sex drive I meen this is Edward Cullens we are talking about! And + she got her hopes up with the bed and rolling about and the way he held her she felt that he wanted to. I did not blame the crying I meen she would be upset to leave Jacob, but how she just balled in front of Edward was kind of dumb I meen you got a guy that loves you and would die for you. Last I did not think she should have gone and see Jacob that much I meen would any of your BF's like you holding hands with another guy that they HATED??????? You make a good point 3nodding hmm but Edward is too much of a great guy to get mad at her for kissing Jacob back I said finally! but I thought Edward would be mad and he wasnt and I was like wtf?! if my bf kissed another girl I would be pissssed but Bella situation is a lil different from mine blaugh

In response to how some ppl wouldn't want to get married. That's perfectly underdtandable... but if she is willing to be a vampire for an eternity with edward... why can't she just get married? People seem to be thinking that I was ranting about the almost-sex scene because I didn't want to read about her having sex.
This is not true.
I'm just stating that Bella changed so suddenly- or at least it was suddenly to me.... Hell yes, I'd want to have sex with Edward Cullen, and why shouldn't Bella? The funny thing was that was probablly the smallest thing that bugged me about her in Eclipse and that's the thing people are deciding to flame me on. gonk

Bella didn't annoy me at all in the book. I found the way she acted and responed to her situation understandable.
A) the marriage thing, Im 21 and it would scare the heck out of me to even concider getting married Right NOW
B) Who here has not pushed for something they've wanted? if you think about it both bell and edward are being selfish in their own ways. Bella cause she pushes wanting to be changed. Edward cause he's pushing her into a uncomfortable marriage situation
C) Kay the Jacob vs Edward thing. i can understand her situation, and jacob continued pushing and making a game out of her love only hurt her more. (frankly id be pretty pissed if someone made a game out my feelings and played dirty) Jacob made it pretty clear his feelings for her were more selfish when he refused to stay. While Edward realized her fear of losing him and stayed showing that his love for her is more important then stupid pride and glory. Basically (sorry that was long and drawn out) Jacob made the game and the rules and lost. Bella tried to balance jacob as a friend and Edward as a lover. What more could she of done?

Oh my, yes she was terribly annoying. At times, I wanted to smack her, but um, you can't really smack a character in a book.
I didn't mind the sex drive thing. As people said before me, if you're a teenager and you're in love (or even if you just think you are), then that's going to happen. The thing that really bugged me is that she didn't listen to Edward telling her that it wasn't safe. She should have been less selfish and listened to him.
I also thought she was being extremely selfish with wanting Edward and Jacob both to stay with her. Does she want the other vampires and the other wolves to lose down there? Why can't she just be brave and let them do what they need to do? Though, I will admit, in the end, it was probably better that Edward was there since Victoria showed up. But that also raises the question of how she found them. I don't think she followed the werewolf trails, so it must have been Edward's round-a-bout way.
She was also being selfish by wanting Edward and Jacob. I've never been in love, so maybe I just don't get this, but how can you love more than one person at time? I think I sort of get it. Like Jacob is her soul-mate, but it was too late when she realized this because she already met Edward. Ordinarily, no one could be more important than a person's soul-mate, but since Edward shouldn't exist, that would explain it.
Someone said this before, but I completely agree. "Jacob made up the game and the rules, and he lost by wanting to go and fight for all the glory."
Personally, I think Edward was absolutely fantastic in this book. I'm glad that we got to see more of Jacob's side. In New Moon, I didn't really like him much, but now that I know more of his perspective, I understand where he's coming from more. Bella... annoyed the hell out of me. I'm really hoping to see her be a bit more selfless in the next book.

I absolutely hated the book at first. I thought Bella was being an idiot. I dunno, the whole time I was reading the only thought going through my head was 'NO, this shouldn't be happening'. It wasn't just bella that was out of character I mean what about Charlie. He was a total jerk. Alice was kinda superficial too. But then I read it again and again and a couple more times and....well you kinda get the picture. I have accepted that they are all morons and now I cannot wait for Breaking Dawn!!!!! heart Have any of you seen the play "A midsummer nights dream"? Thats what I think the fourth book is gonna be like. biggrin

(I'm assuming that you mean Jacob=Demetrius and Bella=Hermia and Edward=Lysander)

I couldn't agree more.
I wanted her to choose, too. And it was hard to read, because Jacob's never seemed so appealing (although I knew I wanted her to be wth Edward).
I was fine with her asking Edward to stay with her, but when she asked Jacob to also, all I could think was, "Son-of-a-b***h!!".
The sex-drive scenes were hard for me to read, I had to keep putting the book on my lap and looking up at the ceiling. Akward.
But yes, although she had a lot of tough decisions to make, decisions that would make me have an anxiety attack and freak out, she TOTALLY pissed me off.

I could kind of tell I was going to get annoyed by Bella in New Moon. I don't know, something about Twilight made me predict that. I was right but I ignored my irritation. However, by Eclipse, I could not stand it!
I was bothered by the whole sex scene thing. I know it's normal, but it was... weird. I had to put the book down for a moment. However, that wasn't what annoyed me about her.
One reason I am frustrated is how she made Edward stay with her during the battle with the newborns! She wanted him to stay so he wouldn't "die" but how about the others? They would have a better chance of surviving if he was there. It's like she'll let them die as long as Edward is alive. Well actually, she would.
Second, I understand the situation she is going through about being in love with Jacob and Edward (reminds me of The Notebook in a way.) But Edward was gone for SIX months. That is seriously a short period of time to fall in love with another guy.
I have no clue why I can't recall all the other things that aggravated me, but there are a couple more. Gosh, now I don't get butterflies from reading about Edward's and Bella's relationship...

I could have dealed with how retarded Bella was in this book, if it wasn't for the fact that the second she realized how selfish she was being and knew how wrong she was, she kept on doing it!!
you can't have everything you want in life!!
and though Jacob was being a Jerk throughout the book, I couldn't help but feel really bad for him at the end....
and what the heck was up with Edward!? if you thought Bella and Jacob where out of character Edward took the cake!!
