Maia watched him still waiting for her gashes to heal. "They're going to kill us..." she said grimly, moving to a corner where a bed was and sitting at the far edge of it against the wall. "And I'm going to die..." she mumbled sadly, looking down at herself. She brought her bruised legs to her chest and laid her head down like a naughty child.

"We aren't going to die, don't say that Maia..." He sat down by her and put an arm around her, "I won't let them kill you....if they try to lay a finger on you, they'll never know wat it feels like to have children ever again..."

Maia remained quiet, drawing away from him. "It's over..." she mumbled again, her face grim.

She said nothing else, her face down and expressionless. This went on for a few days. And the lack of food was driving her insane.

He was sitting by her almost the entire time, trying to console her, "Come on there has to be a way out of all of this."

On the third day, she looked up, her eyes looking dull but still serene. She reached her hand across to him and touching it lightly with her fingers. "Where'd you get this doll?" she said, kissing his hand.

He blushed and looked at her, "Where did I get what?" He let her do as she please with what ever body part she had in her grasp.

Maia was slightly leaning on him. "The ring...where's it from?" She kissed up his arm until she reached his neck and taking a small bite of flesh and repeating the question. "Where's it from?" Even for Maia, this was unlike her.

He said softly, "It is our wedding ring..." Her odd behavior, puzzled him, but he let her go on

Maia laughed slightly. "Really...? That's interesting." She Leaned so much that he fell off the bed. "You look tasty..." she mumbled slightly, walking forward and grabbing his shirt. "Mind if I eat you?" She licked her lips. It's as if she wasn't Maia at all.

"You are too direct Maia...where did the 'play with your food' portion of you go?" He struggled a bit.

Maia grinned wider. "Don't worry...there's only one way either one of us is going to survive." She drove her fingers through his hair driving the hair back from his face. "Eat or get eaten...so doll..." She brought his face up to hers. "Don't you want to put up a little fight for me before I eat you alive?" Her eyes had a new shimmer and more murderous luster.

Maia's nails were digging into his shirt so they left four holes in his collar. "Because...that would be no fun would it...?" She pushed him back across the room so his back landed hard against the stone wall of the shack. "And besides...it's been a while since I've had anyone fight back." She licked her lips again, walking slowly over.
