The hairs on her neck stood on end as he stroked her arm. She pulled her arm away. "what are you doing?..." She mumbled just before she looked up at him to meet his eyes. when she did her mouth fell slightly open, her eyes wide and something just took over her leaving her mind blank and empty.

mort@| Austin grinned, pulling his head closer to her, resting it on her neck. "It'll be painless. And bliss. Don't worry about it." He pulled back abit, turning his head sideways, and baring his fangs, ready to begin. Sddenly, the doorbell rang. "Dam!" He yelled, retracking his fangs. Blood sucking took awhile, and he could damage his fangs if he was interrupted in the middle of it. "Stay here." He growled. Moving in what seemed to the human eye to be a quick blur, he went down the hall, to the door. He opened it slowly. "Hello?" He asked, calmly to the man. Then his eyes grew wide. "You!" He bore his fangs again, and his eyes glew blue once more. [G]u@r|)ian  Dimitri was amazing when he opened the door. He glared at the vampire. "It's been a long time Austin. But certainly not long enough." Out from his coat, he pulled a arm blade, and swung at Austin. Austin dodged it, then ran down the hallway, waiting for Dimitri by a room. "Come and get me hunter!"

Laura shook her head violently coming out of the trance. Her head was thumping and burning and for a second she didn't know where she was until she recognized the room to be her brothers but why was she here? She heard a shout from the hall way and rushed out the door then stopped at the sight of the two. "Who are you?" She demanded from the two of them.

[G]u@r|)ian "Get behind me Laura. That man is a vampire!" He pulled out a sword from his coat, and ran down the hallway, passing Laura, and slashing downward at Austin. He had guessed that was her name, since her brother had mentioned it on the phone. mort@| Austin grinned and extended his steel-like nails. He put them in the way, blocking the sword, causing sparks to fly. With his free hand, he jabbed at Dimitri's stomache, his claws extending there as well. Dimitri saw the assualt, the jumped back to Laura, in a defensive stance. "It's one thing to play with food... but another to play with someone elses! Step away from my meal Dimitri." Dimitri said nothing, keeping his stance and glaring at the vampire.

Laura was in complete shock. "When did i become any body's meal?" She blurted out defensively as she pointed to herself from behind Dimitri. She was completely bewildered. What the hell was going on and who were these people?

Laura looked at him suspiciously. How was she supposed to know he was the real slayer but then again he did help her. "Well Dimitri, Wh-what did he mean he put his mark on me...I don't remember that...i don't really remember anything for that matter..." She told him as she sat back down on the couch feeling a little woozy.

[G]u@r|)ian "Well that's normal. I suppose you wouldn't remember much... do you remember him staring into your eyes at all? Any eyecontact with him perhaps?" He walked up to her, and bended down, squinting into her eyes. "Vampires can't mark you unless they cast a spell on you of course. It comes from the glow in their eyes... slayer like myself still havn't done enough research to find a way to counter it, maybe make a vaccine..." He stood up straight, and stopped looking at her eyes. Yeah... he wasn't lying. He definately marked her.

"But what does "marked" mean?" she asked still feeling confused trying to remember what happened in her brothers room.

[G]u@r|)ian "Well, you see, before a vampire can suck the blood of it's prey, it has to mark it. There are many ways to do it. Water vampires even sing to lure and mark their victims. Ever heard of mermaids? Load of rubish." He pulled out a vial, full of blue liquid. "Here, take this. It'll bring some of your memory back." He said, holding it out to her.

Laura took the vile but didn't drink it. "And how does it affect me?" She asked knowing she could defend herself as long as she wasn't going through one of those stupid trances.

[G]u@r|)ian "Ever heard of the term: My life flashed before my eyes? Well. This will be like that except in your case, the past ten minutes or so. You'll fell alittle drozy, but that should wear off quickly." It seemed to him she didn't quiet trust him. "Don't worry, it's not some sort of poison. I couldn't kill you even if I wanted to." He said, then walked off toward the door. "I noticed through the window that the snow is calming down. I'll be keeping watch outside until your brother gets home." He slowly grabbed the handle, the opened it, walking out onto the porch and sitting there.

She looked at the blue liquid and drank it down wincing at the taste. "ughh...you couldn't afford any good tasting medicine." She joked looking at his back from the door way then at the snowy setting. She leaned on the wall. "Sheesh it is really pretty out there, don't ya think?"

[G]@ur|)ian "Yes... it's absolutely beautiful." He said, with an unchanging face. Then he slowly walked out, closing the door behind him. He walked out farther on the portch, till he reached the small steps. He sat down on them and held his hand out, catching a snowflake.

Laura was taken aback by his behavior but got the message and wasn't going to let it bother her. She walked into the kitchen to poor herself a cup of juice for some reason she felt dehydrated.
