I play bass with fingers; I find it faster, more accurate, and feels more natural. There's nothing wrong with playing bass with a pick, though.

I switch. I'll use a pick on one song, plucking on a nother, basic finger on a different one, sometimes combos. It depends on the song or tone you want.
Anyone who bitches at you for using a pick is forgeting that in music what matters is the sound, not the technique. If it sounds good, than it's fine.
