"Get your fine jewelery here! Nice cheap jewelry!" one man shouted. "Young man, want some fine jewelry?" the man came up to Midori.
"Young man?!" Midori gave the man a hard whack with the case of her sword. Midori then sat on Ammy's back. "Is there anything you'd like to buy, Ammy?" Midori asked Ammy, but pretty much just mocking Ammy. "Ooo, this collar looks nice." Midori hopped off of Ammy and picked up a collar.
"This collar ain't fo' sale, young man." the owner of the collar told Midori.
"But it's nice looking." Midori stroked the collar's fine leather. The collar was studded with glimmering genuine gems. "True craftsmenship." Midori smiled greedily.
"Yes, made by my brother. But don't even bother to offer." the man grunted.
Midori gave the man a sour frown and then took her place back on Ammy's back.
"You know you have legs, Midori. Go walk or something. Ammy's tired of you sitting on his back." Issun said.
"Fine." Midori picked up Ammy and looked at the goods that the merchants were offering.

As the group procceeded deeper into the city, they came across something that looked like a translucent, rose-tinted wall. The men carrying the litter walked right through the wall. Past the rose-tinted wall, the magician in the group was finally able to let the spell down. The sernts that had been with Rian squirmed higher up into the tropical air, rejoining an even larger amount of the flying serpents near the large manor at the center of the city.
The people in the inner layer of Parinene closely resembled those of the outer layer, except that they were clothed much more nicely and everything looked to be exceedingly expensive. Instead of brothels, there were gambling halls and tons of them. Each of the buildings had several magicians present to attract customers, using wonderful, eye-catching magic.
Rian was not heading towards any of the gambling halls however. He was headed where his pets had gone, the very large manor that had tropical plants all around it. It looked like a Grecian temple from the outside but on the inside it looked almost like a jungle inside of bleached marble walls.

"Oooo..." Midori looked over at the magicians. "You don't see that everyday." Midori wanted to head over towards the magicians and stare at their performances forever, but she had to stay with the group. Midori looked at the townspeople's clothes. They had pretty nice clothes, clothes that were much nicer than what Midori was wearing currently. Her shinigami uniform was dirty and the ends of her pants were shredded. Her clothes smelled like a mixture of water and wet grass.

"Woah." The half demon couldn't help but breathe a sigh of awe at the castle. Though she had seen it on their way to the city, it looked even more amazing up close.
Larissa was just glad that her friend had shown some actual emotion besides fear.

"It's excatly like Dragoon,"Kiaya said to Dark. This place reminded her of the upper Dragoon area, gamleing palace and plants.
"The area is giveing off an awful smile,"Nariko said to her two friends as she pressed her nose into Larissa's shoulder trying to smell her instead of the mixture of the city and the plant and animals.

Rian had noted many things from what he saw of the group before they left for Parinene and what he had heard as they were travelling to his manor. His face remained emotionally detached to the things that were happening around him. At the front entrance to the manor, the litter was carefully set down and the lord got up, walking into the large house.
The white sernt left the man finally, slipping off the man's shoulders once more and slithering gracefully through the passages. Rian didn't pay any mind to his favorite of the sernts and, instead, looked over towards the magician. "Get two more magicians and head to that part of the manor," he ordered, already walking.
The magician merely bowed, taking off his cloak and handing it to one of the men who carried the litter. His throat showed a very vivid scar, showing that he had his voicebox cut out. All of the magicians that lived within the manor bore this same scar, learning spells that they were not to repeat. The men who had carried the litter carefully took the magician's cloak and took off a thin cloak from their master. Rian didn't seem to mind it at all, having simpler clothes on underneath the cloak but these items were still very pricey.
"Shall we?" the man started to the group, holding his body in a very regal position. His sulfuric eyes seemed to be colder than ice as he grabbed the sword from underneath the cushion, though his smile was very warm. The color of the sword's scabbard was extremely intricate and the hilt appeared to be made of something similar to mithril though it was quite different.

There it was again. That something about the man that completely absorbed Mickey in terror. From his appearance, she guessed he wasn't much older than him, and he was, as Kaiya put it, a 'pretty boy.' Nonetheless, the half demon inched closer to Larissa again. Of course she was going to follow him- she was too scared to do otherwise- but she didn't feel the need to say anything about it.

"Yeah yeah whatever pretty boy,"Kiaya said answering for the group since it seemed thier fearless leader was not specking for the lot anymore. Besides she wanted a reason to insult him agian, it was fun to unsult roayalty.

"Perhaps I should carve out your tongue," the man spoke, sounding clearly amused by the thought, "It would make you more lady-like. Like your little friends over there." Two of the men from the litter were cautiously following the man. The group couldn't know that this was the same person who had killed all of his older siblings and perhaps even his own father. Rian, of course, would most likely not mention this to the group and was slowly leading them through the maze of jungle hallways. There were many sernts near the top of the passageways, most of them being of the rainbow colored variety.

"It's not funny." Claw muttered back to Larissa, Nariko, and Mickey. For most of the current trip, he'd stayed closer to them now, not wanting to leave the only comforts they had from home. But still, as the group processed forward, Claw glanced back at the brothels. How much would they actually pay for someone who wasn't from the same world? Twice what Mickey had gotten from Hari? Or maybe not even half of that! Despite Larissa's words being a cruel joke, the angel boy actually considered the possability of a job- if Mickey wouldn't share her money, he'd have to find a way to make his own.

"Don't you have knights or warrios in this place?"Kiaya questioned him."I'm a Dragon Knight, we're not suppose to be lady like. We'te suppose to be killers and fight for justice and what not."
Dark rolled his eyes and held up another sign,'Master means she's not a lady'
"Those are fighting words fire breath!"Kiaya snaped at the crture on her head."That's it back in the sword."she said and the dragon disappered back into the comfieds of the sword on her waist.

"Women do not serve as warriors in this city," the young man spoke, "Maybe for barbarians, women are needed to fight, but here, the men are strong enough to defend the women. As gratitude, the women stay silent." The man was heavily hinting that he wanted the woman to shut up.

The femake did note it and so became quieter though still spoke to him,"In my world it's the same. Men fight and women stay home. Though it's the dragon that choses the knight not the other way around. So I became a knight because Dark needed me, a woman to be his knight."she explained.
