As we drifted towards the storm  Hυ𝖿𝖿ᥣᥱρυ𝖿𝖿 ᔑᥱᥴoᥒᑯ Yᥱᥲɾ ☀ Nᥲtυɾᥱ Eᥒthυsιᥲst 🙖 Yoυᥒɡᥱɾ Bɾothᥱɾ ☸ڿڰۣJonah was excited for Quidditch this year even though he hadn't gotten to play much (or at all) last year. He had wanted to participate in the scrimmage match but had suddenly come down with a terrible flu that had him bedridden the day of which had sucked. Hopefully his immune system didn't betray him again and he got to play this year. Double hopefully he would get to play maybe one real game. He jogged down to the pitch to see a good amount of players already there, mostly the older students, and he gave them smiles as he went to fil out his form. Jonah's dad had been pretty enthusiastic when he found out he tried out for Quidditch and wasn't even disappointed when his son only made reserves. Jonah had to talk the man out of buying him a new broom since he hadn't really seen the point of it, plus his old broom was more than capable of performing well, especially now that this year he could bring it!

Pete wasn't sure he wanted to play quidditch, but he knew it was his family legacy to do so. Well, at least his mother's family's legacy. He made a note as he walked onto the field to ask if there were any notable quidditch players on his dad's side. Pete knew though, he didn't want to be known as another Knapp beater. Clubs Will go here when steffy remembers ▬▬"If I can make someone smile, even just for a moment, I’ll give everything I have to do it."▬▬ Henrickdidn't have a great year last year but this year he WOULD have a wonderful year. He would take out so many other players they would call him Henrick the destroyer.
Except, maybe he wouldn't take out the first years, they needed to not be afraid of him....maybe he shouldn't be too violent on the field actually he had to be a role model to those under him with his prefect role. He let out a sigh, why was growing up so difficult, being the responsible one. He filled out his form and got ready to try out.

Rey had this day circled on her calendar for some time, and now that day was here, the start of tryouts for this year’s edition of the Badgers. She’d been so nervous and scared as the day got closer that she couldn’t keep down dinner last night, and her stomach threatened to revolt at the very sight of breakfast. ‘Today would have been better if Finn were here,’ she told herself. Though she knew she would see him soon, during Hogsmeade weekend, in fact, she really needed him today to settle her down and tell her that the black cloud threatening to pull her down wouldn’t.
After managing to pull off the Badgers’ first Cup win in like … well, something close to ever, Seph passed the Captaincy to Rey, and after two years of being under her tutelage, Rey was confident she could lead the team … just not today. Over the summer, she thought long and hard about choosing her own deputy, considering what Seph did in that regard, as well as remembering what Linz and Brianna Quinn-Smith did when positioning the Eagles and Snakes for their memorable Cup runs. It was longevity and consistency in leadership that won Cups, which was what Rey gleaned from their examples. She tapped Talya for the job, and they immediately got busy.
Wearing a black Hufflepuff Quidditch hoodie and jeans, with her Quidditch bag slung over one shoulder and her broomstick across the other, the Seventh Year looked the part of the veteran campaigner that she was. It wasn’t lost on her that this was her only shot to skipper the team, claim a second Cup in as many years, and lay the foundation for a Badger dynasty to rival what Cousin Lewis created. This was her last year of playing, as she wasn’t going pro, and she had to make her final three matches at school count. Her greatest fear at present was that she and Talya wouldn’t be able to stitch together a team. Rey knew she wouldn’t be able to bear the embarrassment if she disgraced her House if she failed in that.
“Chin up, tovarshii,” said Talya as she strolled along beside her, with a spring in her step, her Russian accent stronger than usual, having returned from the Motherland only shortly before boarding the train for Hogwarts. “Today will be a good day. We will fly around, have some fun and some laughs, and then we assemble a team worthy enough to win the Cup. You shouldn’t look as though you’re attending your own execution; it wouldn’t do for the First Years to see their Keptin in such a mood.”
Wearing the sky-blue jersey of the Russian Federation Quidditch team, her familial name and patronym across the back, Talya was confident that they would put together a winning formula. If nothing else, she had her older sister’s example to set her own career by, and Reina was flying for St. Petersburg and the Federation’s World Cup squad, and she led Keltainen at Durmstrang while at school. No pressure there, no, not at all. Bobbing along between them was the chest containing the balls for the tryouts, as well as the barrel containing broomsticks for those who didn’t have one of their own, and the box with the other things they needed. Talya added, “Remember, if we embrace the example set by Hes, we will do fine.”
Stalking along beside her older brother’s girlfriend was Freya, wearing an emerauld-green Irish National team jersey, carrying her Quidditch game kit. So far, this whole business annoyed her. Never mind she couldn’t have her own broomstick, but she and Freyr wouldn’t be the one-two punch they planned to be, not when they were in different houses. She was still convinced Rey knew she’d get Sorted into Hufflepuff instead of Gryffindor (as was right and proper in her mind), and was only too happy to offer to train her up for tryouts, and according to Mum, Finn laughed hysterically for an hour when he learned where his baby sister ended up.
With their plan well and truly scuppered, Freya was determined to do her best to earn a play among the Badgers, though the idea of possibly facing off against Freyr bothered her. “Reckon I can’t go too far wrong if I’m allowed to hit things,” said the eleven-year-old philosophically. “If’n I cannae have Freyr at m’side, then I’ll jus’ haveta do ‘is load fer ‘em.”
Arriving at the pitch, Rey and Talya started setting up. Soon enough, a table with self-inking quills and forms stacked under a metal badger statuette was put up, with a metal tub loaded with ice and bottles of water set next to it. Finally, there were trail bars and energy snacks that the girls made the night previous, waiting for the applicants to appear.

Oh boy! It was finally time for quidditch! Henry had been watching games with his family since he could remember, and Penelope was even leading a team this year. Sure, he wasn't on her team, but that didn't mean he couldn't still play! Besides, he wasn't planning on being in Penelope's spot, so it'd all work out. Wearing his new Hufflepuff sweater, the preteen headed outside with a bright grin. No way was he going to be late to this one! Once on the pitch, he spotted several girls, though only one he knew. It was fellow first year, Freya MacDavis-Grey. Henry waved over at her, joining the little crew. "Good morning! I hope it's alright to apply. My sister's captaining another team, but please don't cause that to overlook me. I've been practicing with Penelope since she made it to Hogwarts." He hoped that his sister's position wouldn't cause the Hufflepuff Captain to send him out, at least. He filled out the paperwork, then bounced on the balls of his feet as excitement surged.

He wished he could say he had been part of it but most of his efforts had come from warming the bench and occasionally bringing out water and towels for the other teammates. He was hopeful this year that maybe he'd get a chance, but he also wasn't going to be too bummed if it didn't happen. He was just happy to help! As Jonah arrived, he noticed that not too many had arrived just yet but he knew more would come sooner so he just smiled and waved at those he knew and didn't know before he walked over to the forms and filled his out. Once he was done, he stood away and began doing a few stretches his dad had shown him during their summer training.

Luke was running late and he knew it. He'd been distracted hanging out with Amelia. He loved spending time with her more than anything, but he also didn't want to be one of those guys who neglected their responsibilities just because he had a girlfriend. So, once he'd realized the time, he'd managed to pull himself away and jog down to the pitch, coming to a stop, trying to catch his breath for a few seconds before continuing.
