Lady Bastet

PostPosted: Mon Sep 06, 2004 8:47 pm

Bastet moved to the table sat silently listening to the questions. It is so unnerving knowing that anytime she looks at someone they might not be her friends. Obviously Aurahkah knew more than she did, because she still seemed wary. Thinking back she remembered seeing Saradin standing there when she had had her little outburst, so he knew she was trying to leave. But then she did not see him again until she had been in the Great Hall a few minutes, meaning he did not follow immediately. Shrugging, she sat back and let her ears relax for the first time that day.

Anxiety was filling up within him, all this food in front of him and no one's eating yet!!! He couldn't help it. Kasis bent low to the table and looked at everyone else, they seemed preoccupied with something each and their own. Taking his chance, his hand, carrying a fork like a gun, sneakily walked over the the fish. And like a warrior, it stabbed the fork into it's side and ripped off a small chunk. Kasis might've not attaracted any attention if he didn't make any strange noises....

"Eclipse? Do you know anything about this? Don't worry, it's me." With one sudden strike, his sword snapped free and split the hilt off of the imposter sword on the ground and disintigrated by blue fire from his own weapon. "Have you seen the other one?"

"Go ahead and dig in!" Saradin heaped food onto his plate and began eating slowly. Earnestly enjoying this brief moment of peace and senseing how it would soon be shattered.

Eclipse's ears perked forward and his growl stopped. He took a sniff at the air. Yes, this Saradin did smell different than the other, this is what Saradin really smelled like. "He's with the others, in the great hall." Eclipse pinned his ears back, turned tail and bolted back for the manor.

Aura only swallowed a mouthful of air. She wasn't eating until Eclipse came back with the sword. She hated the feeling of not trusting at least the image of Saradin, but she had this happen to her once, and didn't want it to happen again.

Lady Bastet

Bastet twitched her ears and looked to Kasis sneaking some fish. She shook her head but could not blame him. She got some fish as well and some more of the delightful looking food and filled up her plate.

Saradin of course raced back alongside Eclipse, god only knew what the fake had planned for them all. The doors to the great hall burst open as the pair entered, a sword held by one and fangs bared by the other. "Where is he? What are you planning?"

Saradin takes only a couple more bites as his other half arrives and throws accusations his way. Eventually he stands up and locks serious gazes with him. "You gained your freedom and gave it to us. I should thank you, but all I can think to do is try and kill you."

Seeing that everyone had put food on their plate Kasis commenced to do so himself. His two hands seemed to mulitply as the shoved spoonful and forkfull after spoonful and forkful. It was an assortment of food and the pile just got higher and higer. Feeling pleased with the size of his plate, he stuck a happy fork into the pile of food.

This was before Saradin stormed in again, immediately Kasis stopped chewing on the fish he had in his mouth and spit it out on the ground.

"Er... I'll clean this up later."

Eclipse stood by his Saradin's side, growling at the copy. So Aurahkah had been right.

Aura stood up from the table, staring at the two. She knew it. Saradin had lived in her home too long, she know his habits and the affinity that he had to Soulforge.

Lady Bastet

Bastet set her plate of food down and watched the scene. Sighing, she realized that it was too good to be true, and listened intently to the exchange. Then as she stood up she noticed Soulforge with the Saradin that had just entered.

"Well, I cant be expected to ruin such a delightful dinner plan tonight... it feels to much like my own work." Chimed out one Saradin, standing at the table. "I know your kind. They arent capable of such things." Was the response shouted in return. "But, I am your kind... To think that we are the same person. Different paths eh?" It was quite confusing to see the two exchanging their words, if not for the swords pressence itd have been impossible to tell. "I can't let you threaten my home!" The shadowed version's face twisted into a wry grin and look of insanity. "Not like you can do anything about it, we both know that when I die, another will show up sooner or later. Tonight, take your peace that I give you, I'll return to my shattered realm and starving hatred." Even as the last of those words were uttered, that Saradin was fading from view and then dissapeared suddenly broken into wispy black smoke.

Kasis looked at his plate, tears welling up. He fell to his knees and sniffed the food one last time. The spoon and fork in his hands fell to the floor, he was looking forward to this banquet too.

"Is the food really poisoned? Someone say it isn't so!" He got up from his knees and sluggishly walked out of the hall and toward the kitchen for some leftovers.

((Damn it, sorry for the awkward exit, i'm being forced off again ><))

Bastet blinked a few times then realized that she would have to keep her guard up. At least she was not the one threatening the house. Suddenly loosing her appetite, she moved towards her hall. "Well, it has been a busy time, I am going to bed." Leaving her hall she went straight to her room to examine the desheveled state she was in. "Someone should I have told me I look this bad..." Sighing, she flopped on her bed and slept.

Eclipse calmed his growling and bounded over to Aurahkah, curling around her protectively. "Well this is not well at all."

Aura could only nod at the wolf's words and stare at the Saradin that was left. Saradin that actually wielded the Soulforge and not just wore it for decoration would always be the real one. Well at least she had a way to tell. "We're in for quite an ordeal this time..." Sais now, twenty-four seven would be on her. Whether or not she was ready to wield them again. Her mind was racing with other things as well. The others would have to know. Hopefully only Saradin's shadow would be lurking the manor, they could all deal with just the one. And on came temple take charge and take care of business mode. "Well then, there are things that need to be done if we intend to face this enemy. I suggest we get to them. I'm sorry that your dinner was ruined Saradin." She pulled herself from Eclipse's hold and came up to Saradin, giving him a once over glance. "I still trust you." That said she walked away down the halls, not intending to let a mere copy get the better of her, her manor, or her family.

"There's that backbone I was talking about...good girl."

Eclipse followed after her, not wanting to leave her at all now. She had just dealt with something like this. He wasn't going to let her go through it again.

Saradin fell into a chair and stared at all of the food scattered about, going to waste. The soulforge crackled slowly and almost seemed to try to show compassion onto the turn of events. "Now I really am a threat again." Dull blue sparks jumped around his hand and fizzled. "An enemy that never really dies. And the same as me. Though, he's still attached to the plane for support, not a true life." He at in silence, and seemed to be listening to the swords murmuring flames. "He's close. But he's going to reject salvation... and remain in that state." He shut his eyes slowly and was filled with the calming effects of his home and his friends that would fight to protect it, but still worried for everyone.

Meanwhile on the other side of a planar barrier, Saradin sat in the same chair. It's rotted and torn apoulstry sat uncomfortably beneath him as he looked on the set tables loaded with diseased and destroyed foods. In his hands he held a sword, white steel and embalzoned with a pheonix, no different from the soulforge minus the flames, which tapped against the broken flooring of the room. Only the solid tap of metal against the floor made sound in the cold and lightless room. Swirled thoughts of envy and hatred for his ironically lighter half, suicidal notions, and a deformed will to protect others kept him company in the dark. The othewise silence brke when he mused his problem aloud to himself. "I want to die, but if I do, another will only take my place and suffer then. I clearly dont have the ability to overcome my original and end the cycle. All I can do is continue onward." The hateful philosopher sat in his darkness whilst brooding over his malformed mentality.

As dusk was beginning to reveal itself and always followed by night, Aura sat on her bed, sharpening her sais. Her hands still shook at just touching the two weapons, but there was no way she was going to go without them.

Eclipse watched her from his position across the foot of the bed. He had fetched his light orb and set it in the middle of the bed between the two. It was more reliable than a candle for light, especially to sharpen weapons by.

Moving on to her other sai she continued her sharpening of the ancient objects, making their tips even deadlier than they had previously been.
