Hey!!! Call me Kei.
I was reading these, and through the whole thing I was thinking "wow! They've been playing for so long"
I've only been playing for 10 months.
I should be first chair. But my director was being stupid and moved me to last chair when I was gone on a vocal trip. She tested us on the two easiest measures in the history of easy measures, and I'm still only second chair, because she didn't test the first chair that day. But next time we test I WILL be first chair. I was in beginning band for the first semester and then I moved up to the 7th grade band and started as second chair. Thta made all the lower chairs mad, and then as soon as I tested, I got moved to first chair. That made the ex-first chair really mad. I still think she doesn't like me because of it. Everyone except my friends seemed really happy when I got moved back. They all call me teacher's pet because the director always calls on me.
Sorry for that long-ish story. I don't play the picillo, for I am still a beginner. Or any other typer of flute for I am poor. My flute is a used student Bundy(named BillyBobJo)(each part has it's own name...don't ask...I was really bored)
I have a tutor who thinks I'm absolutely amazing...she has me playing high school pieces that scare me.
I am best at sight-reading and scales.
Wow...that all sounded very braggish...so I shall tell you my faults.
1.I hate all key signatures with sharps or more than 3 flats.
2.I SUCK at dotted eight notes/sixteenth notes.
3.I have terribble self-esteem when it comes to these things. emo
4.I get frusterated very easily, so I'm surprised my flute isn't broken in half. sweatdrop
So on that note...I leave for now for mom will get mad if I do not get off^^

Hey, I'm The Real Mandaleigh96, but you can call me Amanda if you want. I really love playing the flute. And I've been playing it for 4 years, (since 4th grade.) I'm Concert Band and Jazz Band. I've been everywhere from 1st chair to last. (litterally.) I'm currently 8th chair in concert band, and 2nd chair in jazz band. (Not to brag, but I'm probably good enough to be 1st in jazz band, but we haven't had a playing test yet, and I joined halfway through the year. Then another girl joined. There are only 3 flutes in jazz band, which is odd because there is more than 20 in concert band.)
My school, Joseph R Bolger Middle School, participates in the Music in the Parks Competition. This year, in concert band, we got 1st place in our division with a Superior Rating. (That's the best rating you can get) In jazz band, we got 1st in our division with an Excellent Rating. (That's the second best rating you can get!) I'm not bragging, or at least I'm trying not to. I'm just very proud of my band. (In my school all the band people are labeled Band Geeks, but what people don't realize is that we are very proud of this label!) And I'm very lucky to have a music teacher like Mrs. Grimaldi. The band room is like our home, and Mrs. G is like our mom.
So I guess being 8th chair in a band with trophies makes me a pretty good flute player. Probably, anyway. But in music, there is always something to learn. So tips and help are very appreciated. Also, if anybody wants help with anything, I'll do my best to help you.

i'm soccergal360 but u can call me sock, soccer or soccergal or soccergal360 wink xd um i have played the flute for hm 10 months and i love it! my favorite song is called "Tempest". with the whole band it sounds freakin awesome. i am not in marching band yet so i havent had the choice of playing piccolo. i am in honors band which, in my grade, is the highest band there is. there were only two flute players in my grade tht made honors. i am the first chair out of the 10 ppl. all but one person is one grade older than me. i made a 100 on my final exam and i stayed in first chair for about 4 months without breaking. i got a 1 on my solo which is the best grade beside soloist. but i dont play for all the medals and good grades. i play because i love playing the flute.

hey wassup, you guys can call me Meena, Or Muffin, i dont really care. Lets see.,, ive been playing C flute for 2 going on 3 years now. Im in Advanced Band, the highest class for band in my school. Im also in marching; my band marches for TONS of festivals in my town. We go up and play with our high school band alot, like at football/basketball games, which are really fun. I really want to learn to play piccolo, but there are no rents for piccolos at school, and i cant afford one D: Hmm.... i would say my fav song to play would be either Bridgeview Overture, or Excelcia. Im second chair, so thats a plus! Anywho, thats me!

Hey guys! So, I'm FuzzyPinkPopcorn. You can call me Fuzzy, but it doesn't really matter. Whatever floats your boat ^_^. Anywho, I've played the C flute for 3, going on 4, years now w/ private lessons. I'm first chair in all the bands at my school (that would be 3), and I was first chair in all-state, too. I really love practicing (which my friends think is weird. I don't know why :l), and the flute is the main thing in my life. ; w ;

I'm Bekah, I've played flute for five years. If i had the money, I would most definitely get an alto flute or a bass flute, and learn how to play it... those are awesome sounding.
I'm 5th chair in concert band (out of 11), and 2ed chair in marching band (out of 9)... I'm not the best, but I don't fail.

PrettyPrettyPeppermint Hi everybody! Now that we are getting some members, let's introduce ourselves! I am PrettyPrettyPeppermint, but you can call me Peppermint or PPP or even Captain ( blaugh ). I have played flute for six years and piccolo for five. I am now the third chair in my school's top class (AA) band, which is really good for a sophomore. I can play "Flight of the Bumblebee" even faster than written on piccolo and "Syrinx" is my favorite song to play on flute. wow! you are my flute idol!! i have been playing flute for abut a year now. and im ok at it i guess. some of the songs i have played in concert band are "in the hall of the mountain king", "a sailor's oddysey", and "country wildflowers" oh and you can call me kendall smile

hi u can call me hay hay i'm just starting flute this year entering middle school. and i have no idea what we r going to start with but i have to figure out what i'm going to do but i'm supposed to help the class with the scales since i already no most of them and all . There is much for me to look forward to while playing flute of course that is what my mom says. I think it will be fun tho and all i have a musical family my mom plays flute my dad plays clarinet and my moms dad plays sax-o-phone and my dads brother plays almost any percussion instrument and brass instrument so i guess it runs in the family. heart heart biggrin biggrin smile smile cool cool

Hey! My name is Victoria but my friends call me Tori. I have played flute for seven years and have advanced to woodwind captain (don't know how though since I am not that great). I am a senior.... Oh and I learned to play pic but to avoid having a cat fat with a spoiled brat stressed I never got to play it for people (it was the last school owned pic).

I forgot if i posted here or not. I'll just post just to make sure. Call me Isabella. Im 11. Shush dont tell gaia. (XD) And ive been playing flute for 3 years. <-------*****newbie alert**** And piano since i was 2. But i prefer flute. Im second chair in my middle school band. My band teacher plays in this ancient band thingy called the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra. And he plays trumpet on there. Im going into the 7th grade. And in 8th grade im playing my flute at Disneyland. (cant believe my school is doing that for free) I love love love the flute. And i made a couple of videos on Youtube of me playing.

And want to meet other flutists. So thats why im on this Guild and in the Forum.
Im kinda scared about going to 7th grade cuz ill be leaving my teacher from the Orchestra thingy i just told ya. (his name is Andrew Storar) And he is an easy teacher to talk to and gives out good grades. He only gives bad grades to people who have bad behavior and absolutley suck at their instruments. And my new teacher is very strict. She wants us to be perfect and make no mistakes. Im guessing she is like that cuz she wants to get us ready for 8th grade. She is also the band teacher for that grade. -.- IM SCARED. Me dont thinks ima ready.... confused

Don't know what to say...what to say....
Hi, I'm Tri. I've been playing flute for about 8 years now (wow, that long already? xd )I'm pretty good, if I can say that without sounding conceited, and audition for honors bands, etc, all the time. I have a Dean Yang flute that I've named Kitten. I'm in the marcing band. I don't have a piccolo, but I wish I did. crying My band director doesn't like flutes, so he doesn't march piccolo either, so the last time I was able to play one was last year for the school musical (our drama guild is a-MAZ-ing, better than the football team smile ). We did Suessical and it was awesome.
I also have some experience on saxaphone, but it's been a while since I've played, because I've been concentrating on flute.
ANyway, I'm not on Gaia much but I think I'll be on a lot more now because I have a reason to!

Hey guys, I'm viper and I've been playing flute since grade 7...umm, I'm in gr. 11 right now and so that's...5 years I think! I play second chair in my school's senior band, but we're not especially competetive, so that doesn't mean I'm that good...I'm a practise-holic, and whenever I'm bored that's what you'll find me doing.! Yeah, hope I can have fun with this guild!! biggrin
