Yasha paused a moment, raising her snout to the air and investigating the various scents. Sphinx had stopped as well, staring down at the Umbreon in a bit of a confused fashion. "Something up?" Yasha shook her head a bit, ~I'm not sure, something approaching smells familiar to me. I don't understand.~

Sphinx didn't seem to grasp this, either. Hitsu, on the other hand, stated aloud the assumption that she had made only a few minutes before. She turned to look over her shoulder at the Umbreon, grinning just a bit. "Like you." She stated simply, "It has your scent."

Yasha's expression seemed shocked, crimson eyes wide at her trainer's words. Then, she gave a bit of a snarl. ~The stench of this place, it's playing tricks on us.~ She continued on past Hitsu, leaving she and Sphinx to walk behind. She kept her head lowered a bit, as though thinking.

"Is she alright?" Sphinx muttered. He could smell it, too. Though, mentioning such a thing didn't seem to be helpful of the situation.

"I'm not quite sure..." She replied, "I hope so."

[If I'm being way too blunt, just say so. xd I can edit it.]

[Please don't think of me as stupid, but what do you mean? xd *easily confused today*]

Yasha had continued to lead the way, even though it hadn't been her original idea to return to this place. The scent that she had been intent on investigating had become stronger. She would not admit that she was nervous, nor address the strange feeling that rested in her chest. Was it hinting towards something negative? She didn't know, but she had to find the source of her confusion.

Then, the three heard shouting ahead. Making the words out clearly, being nearly on top of the intersection that Neko and Kane had paused in. Hitsu began to quicken her pace. She may not know the ones fighting, but one thing was for sure. A man had shouted, and a woman had replied in defense. She'd spent enough time in this town to wear down what little trust she had carried for the male residents.

However, Sphinx had moved faster than she had. Jogging ahead of both his mistress and her Umbreon, he approached the stranger brandishing the stick. He stepped up behind him, standing only a few feet away. He did not act, yet. Peering past him, he took small note of the young woman's Pokemon. The growl convinced him that perhaps his aid was not needed as much as he had thought, but the Pokemon could not speak in its trainer's defense. "Hey!" He barked, his tone threatening. "Have you not been taught to respect a woman?" He growled, eyeing the back of the man. At least, he would hope to draw attention away from her.

Hitsu and Yasha approached behind him as he finished his question, halting a few feet away. Hitsu's glance darted from her pet to the one he was trying to distract. Then, to the girl several feet away. Another trainer, apparently. She had a Pokemon with her. Wait a second... A thought sparked, was it possible? She quickly looked down to Yasha, who was staring ahead wearing a shocked expression. She had tensed, visibly sniffing in their direction. Her hackles had raised. What could it mean?

[I'm not moving along too fast, am I? oO; Also, I don't believe that Neko and Hitsu have met within RP before. So, I wasn't sure if it would fit to have her recognize you. Of course, my bad memory could always be getting the better of me. X3;]

[Ah, that's what I had figured that you meant. I wanted to be sure, though. xd ]

Hitsuzen winced a bit as the man turned and tried to hit Sphinx upside the head with his stick. That, was a very bad idea. At least her Umbreon had snatched the stick away, seemed like an odd thing for it to do, considering that it did not know of who it was aiding. Biting her lip a bit, she took advantage of the distraction and slipped past the two. This woman seemed rather frightened, and the least she could do was reassure her that they meant no harm to her. However, she could not promise the same for the man. "Don't be afraid, he won't hurt you." Of course, she hadn't specified on which she was talking about, but apparently both would become the case.

As he had turned, Sphinx could immediately smell the alcohol on the man. He brought a hand up to rub at his sensitive feline nose, making a sort of lingering hiss in the man's direction before he spoke. "I assure you, there is nothing that I want from you." He growled, jerking his arm foreword in the blink of an eye. Taking only one step foreword made up for the stumbling away the drunk had done, and the young man's fingertips closed tightly around his throat. "And bite your tongue, there are ladies present." Of course, with the grip that he had, no more words would escape.

In this commotion, Yasha had slowly tried to rid herself of the distance between the other Umbreon and herself. She was more than close enough to define his scent as male, but there was something else. She was a couple feet to Sphinx's right when she paused, staring at him. Not the usual glare she would offer any other, but a look that would suggest her confusion. She had no idea what to say, one thought was screaming to her, but still she wasn't sure if she should believe it.

[If you don't want me to force moves on an NPC, just say so. ^^;]

[Don't worry about the post length, I do the same thing. I'm not going to be offended if your posts are shorter, as long as you're not offended if mine are shorter. xd Just wait until I get that other pet from PSoH that accompanies them. There will be some good times, considering that Sphinx is going to hate him, and visa versa. *looking foreword to RPing that*]

Sphinx gave a bit of a hissing sound, perhaps irritated that his victim hadn't put up as much of a fight as his last in this place. However, he hadn't let go of his throat, nor loosened up. There lingered a strange look in his eyes, and an inhuman growl escaped him as he caught Hitsu's gaze. Returning the glare for several seconds, he finally released the man, allowing him to drop carelessly to the ground. He muttered incoherently, before stepping up to his mistress, proving just how tall he really was. Lion tail swatted from side to side in aggravation once or twice, before he finally seemed to grasp why she'd denied him what he wanted. Forcing his negative mood from his mind as he glanced sideways at Neko, he spoke kindly. "Are you alright?" As he asked her this, he glared in the direction of the unconscious man, as though waiting to hear good reason to finish the job.

Hitsu shook her head slightly, wrapping an arm around Sphinx's neck a bit roughly. "You've done enough, Sphinx." She started, then added in a much quieter tone. "She's frightened as it is." After releasing her headlock on her pet, Hitsu turned to Neko once more. "It's no problem, I've learned myself how uncomfortable this place can be." She gave a nod, frowning a bit at the memory. "I am Hitsuzen, this arrogant little Egyptian behind me is Sphinx..." She smirked a bit, as she heard muttering against him being called 'little'. Gesturing below towards her Umbreon, she added, "And Yasha. I'm unsure of if she's seen another Umbreon before, honestly. Though, ordeals in her past lead me to believe that these two just may be connected..." She trailed off a bit, taking note of Yasha's expression, assuming that her guess could soon be confirmed.

It seemed he had no intentions of attacking, and his trainer seemed kind enough to not command him to do so. Yasha took a slow step foreword, clearing a bit more of the distance between them. Nose twitched slightly, taking in his scent yet another time. It had to be him, she had no doubts. Though, what if it wasn't? She couldn't stand not knowing. When she spoke, for the first time she could remember since her youth, she appeared nervous. ~Brother...?~

Casting a final glance at the unconscious man, Sphinx gave a bit of a growl. Silently, he hoped for someone else within this city to cross him. Next time, he would not be so friendly. Working his fingers a bit to pop the joints, he gave a deep sigh and finally returned his attention to the two females. "If you're sure, I will leave him be." He stated, regretfully.

Hitsuzen gave him a sharp look, "Of course you will." She, obviously, wasn't too keen on the idea of frightening Neko. Which no doubt would happen if he got his wish. Turning to smile at Neko, she took her hand and gave it a quick shake. "Pleasure." She'd overheard Yasha's question to Kane, and bit her lower lip a bit before speaking again. "It's strange... That the two seems to be so nervous." They did not seem ready to attack, in her opinion. "Yasha has searched for years for her lost brother... Her twin." She explained, eyeing Yasha curiously.

She didn't know entirely what to say, how could he not know? Of course, after all of those years... An angry expression flickered on her maw for just a moment, recalling the ordeals, and her search up to this point. ~Those Rockets took you from us, when you and I were un-evolved.~ She started, lowering her head a bit. ~When Mother commanded us to run, I got away from them and you did not.~ Silently, she hoped that somehow this would spark his memory. If this was her brother, that is. She felt so positive on it, something about standing there in front of him just seemed to click. It was a bit confusing, but she was determined to find out if she was right, or if her search would continue once again.

Hitsu gave a nod, grinning lightly. "More similar than most would." She replied, suggesting that she understood. If they weren't of a different gender, they may have been unable to be pointed out between one another at all. That is, other than the strange aura that seemed to flow from Kane.

Yasha's own expression actually seemed excited for a moment, as she'd caught the shocked reaction the she had caused. Though, shortly she seemed a bit regretful, sensing his distress as he recalled all of his past memories. Of course, she was left to wonder about it herself. After all, the last time she'd seen him, they'd both been tiny Eevee.

But, why did he seem so reluctant to accept her as his sister? At his question, she lowered her ears a bit. She should have known that he would have said something about that. ~She did not...the Scizor...~ She trailed off a bit, looking up at him and hoping that he grasped enough to keep her from continuing. If only they had been strong, they could have saved her. Perhaps things would not have been as they were.

Yasha stood and watched him for this long period, somewhat regretful that she had to give him such news. Perhaps he had hoped that their mother had survived, and that he could be reunited with the both of them, and not just his twin. ~I'm sorry...~ She said quietly, though one couldn't be sure if she was apologizing for telling him of her fate, or for her being deceased in general. ~Afterward... I vowed to become stronger... and, to find you.~ She added, glancing up to him, her head lowered.

Sphinx turned his head to one side, listening. He could also hear people approaching, and his expression suggested that he wasn't happy about it. "Let's move." He stated simply, brushing past Hitsuzen and Neko on his way. Turning, he motioned them. "I don't think we're safe here..." His tone made one think that he found the entire place unsafe, but he'd obviously have to cope with that for the time being.

Hitsu followed after him, giving a shrug to Neko, and gesturing in the direction he was walking in. Though Yasha was a bit reluctant to move, she trailed after them as well.

As Sphinx had urged them away from the unconscious drunk, his senses focused on their surroundings. Instinctively, but he paid closer attention. He'd been within this city once before, and had hoped never to set foot into it again. Pulled from his thoughts, he glanced upward, towards the rooftop of a building up ahead. Fantastic... He gave a bit if a sneer, and sped up to get ahead. If it was anything that meant harm, he wasn't about to let it near his mistress.

Pausing in the alleyway, he brought his hands up to cover his sensitive ears as he vainly tried to muffle the horrid sound of metal meeting stone. With a growl, he stared foreword at the figure that landed several feet before him. There were two of them. Human, or no? Lowering his arms to his sides, he flexed his fingers a bit. Stepping foreword, he spoke in a threatening tone. "Show yourself. Whatever you may be." Sphinx himself remained hidden in the shadow that the building cast, for the moment.
