Nathan then had a realization as Garrat cleaned his cheek. "... Something.. Something is odd, Garrat.. Why is it just Hamish and I now...?" he flinched as the pain surged through his face like a bee sting. "..ow.." he mumbled. " I didn't mean to get out.. but I got worried when Mother screamed... wh-.. why do you think she hit me.. Mother has never hit me like this before." he cried. He pet the little kitten and then let it run off to its cream dish.
He shuddered as the pain began to die down. "... Do you know... Do you know what happened to Joseph?" he asked with sad eyes as a hand moved up to touch the knight's own hand over his cheek, hissing a bit once again.

"The captain said something about a creature," Garrat said. "I don't know the details." From the sound of things, it had been something the captain had never seen before. "Don't mind your mother, Nathaniel. I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt you." Something was a bit off. First, Manuerva ran away, and now Joseph was probably killed. What could be going on?

He sniffed the sadness and licked his lips and sighed a sad sigh. "I'm cold..." he muttered under his breath and then he looked down and pulled something out of his pocket.. "I'm sorry for picking my lock.." carefully placed the needle he had in Garrats kind palm. "I won't do it again.. really... but... there must be some way we can know what happened to him..." he said. Nathan was already forming a plan and he pursed his lips and looked over his knights in hopes he'd catch on and go along with the plausible idea he was hatching.

Garrat pocketed the needle and embraced Nathaniel to warm him up. Then came the prince's mumbles about finding out what happened to his brother. Normally, when Nathaniel spoke like that, he was planning something. "Nathaniel, no. No schemes."

Nathaniel slumped in the knight's arms and nuzzled his chest. "But Garrat, What it if.. what ever hurt Joseph will come to hurt my father or mother.. or Hamish? We should-... " He looked into Garrat's eyes and saw the seriousness and wrapped his arms around his neck. "I'm scared..." he whispered to himself and then looked up into Garrat's eyes pleadingly.

"There's nothing we can do for now," Garrat told him. "You family will be fine. There are many guards here to protect them." The knight noticed a lack of bird in the room. "Where's Reynard? I haven't seen him since I returned."

Nathan scratched his head and nuzzled against the man's chest, but in response to Garrat's question, he pointed over to the windows. Only to have the solemn reminder that there were bars over them now. He sighed and stood to lay down on his bed, clinging to a pillow.
"He flew outside when I opened the window... I think he went to go and look for you.." Nathan sort of coughed a bit and grinned, " You've found yourself an incredibly loyal pet.. " he laughed a little, but then cough some more.

It was then that Garrat noticed the bars. He didn't comment on them, but he did think it was too much. Then again, perhaps it was for the best. If only they weren't there, though. Nathaniel already had enough reminders of his own imprisonment.
Patting the prince's back, Garrat frowned at him. "A loyal pet that wouldn't get off my arm," he muttered as he recalled the memory. Nonetheless, Reynard did tend to be helpful and proved intelligent. The knight wasn't as annoyed with him as he was before.

Nathan stopped coughing and cleared his throat. He looked out the window and glanced around for the bird, hoping it come back. The little kitten hopped back on the bed and rubbed against Nathan for some warmth. " oh... What about my training?" He asked, gesturing to Garrat to sit by him. " and won't you please tell me something you want for your birthday? It's in a week isn't it?" He asked with pouting lip.

Well, no surprise now. "I managed to get approval from your mother, but on the condition that you keep away from a sword or dagger," Garrat said with a more cheerful tone. Once more, he avoided the birthday question, because he really didn't know what he wanted.

"Then, we can train later tonight then?" He asked blankly and started coughing against a pillow. He looked up and out of boredom he stood up went to his bed post and started to climb it. "But why can't I use a sword?" He asked his knight.

Garrat grabbed Nathaniel by the waist and began to pull him off the bedpost. "I wouldn't recommend training at a time like this," he said. "As for why you can't use a sword or dagger, I think your mother worries sometimes. It's fine. You can practice with a staff."

Nathaniel wouldn't let go at first and then looked back at Garrat and wrapped around his knight's head and clung around him like a sloth pup to its mother. He giggled and kissed his soldier's cheek. ".. could I use a bow and arrow?" he asked looking in the man's eyes, playing with his long hair, still clinging to him.

Garrat made no move to try to get Nathaniel off now. "I suppose you can. Your mother never said anything about a bow and arrow," he admitted. "We shall start soon, but you'll first need wooden arrows, for safety reasons."

Nathaniel looked up and still pouted, "I don't need to be so careful. You don't have to worry about me..." he bit his lip and climbed down a bit, but pulled Garrat to lay with him on his bed. "What are you good at? Do you prefer sword and shield or staff or .. something else?" he laid on the man's chest, crossing his arms over it and rest his head on his hands.
