Did you know that War of the Worlds was originally a radio show, back in the days before television? And that when it was first aired, it was so well done that people actually believed it was real--some people even committed suicide by jumping out of buildings and stuff because they thought the aliens were about to get them?

Yes I did!!! biggrin I think that's really amazing!!! ^^ Just goes to show how good some books can be! People thought it was REAL!!! eek I want to read that book... if I'm not mistaken they read the book on the radio right... like the book came first??

The book was written first, but the radio broadcast was adapted by and written primarily by Howard Koch, with input from Orson Welles. You should download it--it's great.
