"Relax, I've heard the king of Mekdu is very kind and understanding..." muttered Raymie.

They entered audience chamber.

"Welcome, good friends and subjects, what can I help you with?" the king bellowed from his throne. However he was speaking in the native language of Mekdu, and Raymie understood all of three words.

She looked helplessly at Raden.

Raymie bowed when she heard her name, wishing she oculd understand, and making a metal note to learn as languages as possible as soon as she could.

Raymie saw the kingblink several times at Raden's statement.

"I do not care what your relation with this woman may be, but I do wish do know, how did you come across my daughter? We have been searching for weeks..."

The king got up from his throne and bowed to Raden.

"I owe you much more than I can ever pay for keeping those men away from my only child..."

He then turned to Raymie and kissed her hand.

"And you as well, for keeping her safe and helping her to the best of your ability. I wish to know what you used to help, so I can pass the message to our healers, to help them finish the process."

Raymie blinked a couple times.

"Thank you," she said uncertainly in his language, before looking at Raden with pleading eyes.

"Sorry, sorry, I should've assumed when she was so silent," he said in English, but with a very strong accent, "I said, thank you for keeping my princess safe while the assassin men were there, and for helping her with her wounds as well as you can. I would like to know what yuo used to help her, so I can tell the healers."

"I... I put phera pollen on the dart entry, and gave her some of the juice from a mourning melling to numb the pain and slow her internal bleeding..." Ramie said quietly, thrown off by his suddne language change.

The king rubbed his temples for a moment.

"It sounds like she was hurt quite badly," he said, sending off a paige to notify the healing staff, "I am all the more grateful for you. What is this dart entry you speak of?"

"Poison, but it had stopped spreading by the end of that day. The healers should have no problem removing it. I only wish I could've done more."

"Nonsense, I wish I could give you enough in return."

"Yes, yes! Of course, that is hardly a task."

He said something in his Makduik ((which is officially what i'm calling it...)) to a servant, who walked over to Raymie, holding out his arm for her to take, which she did.

"You look rather old. Did you miss going on your journey at the proper age of 13?" ask the king before they left to the sage's tower.

"Ah, yes, I did. Thank you, your majesty."

The servant led them up into a room which had many engravings upon the walls. Weapons with runes engraved on them, medical and magical tools, along with what looked like some strange torture devices lie upon tables.

"Wait here, please."

Raymie nodded and looked at the artifacts.

"This one looks like it was used to take peoples arms off..." she muttered, eyeing a hienous device.

Raymie stared at the ruins on a blade. Her eyes clouded over.

"It says... 'only from the shadow can light be bright enough to wash away all remaining darkness. Light which shines with the sun may often go unnoticed.'"

She blinked. "Since when can I read this stuff?"
