"I thought they'd be tired," the half demon defended. "Don't blame me. Besides, Claw can get just about anyone worked up." Mickey had leaned back on the grass and was supporting herself with her arms. Her attention was directed skyward.

"I guess you're right," Mickey agreed, but didn't get up quite yet.
"Well I'm ready to keep going," Larissa spoke, standing up, too.

"Hey, wait up!" Kaida protested, running out from the trees where she, Bara, and Nariko had been. The last thing she wanted was to get left behind. "Bara, Nariko, c'mon!"

Mickey finally hopped up, following Hari with Larissa. Before she had gotten up, the half demon had pulled out a handful of the salt grass, and she was still gripping it as she walked.

Slowly but surely, Adrian stood. "Alright, Shawn, let's go," he stated, but began walking without waiting for the other Joker.

A few hours later, and the group was able to see Parinene a few miles away from them. Hari had stayed on his feet after they had left the forest, holding the reins of the zeber the entire time. One thing that could be seen clearly from the center of the city was a rather elegant, grecian temple-like structure. The outer layer of the city appeared rather normal, like those of the other cities, but the center was full of tropical trees. The only thing the whole city had in common was that it was filled with bright lights that made it seem like day, even when night falls.

"Maybe half an hour?" the man guessed. Sunset was approaching fast but with all of the light, it was a wonder on how many of the people would be able to sleep outside (and in the cold no less.) "If you want, you can check out the different animals that we may encounter while we search for the items," the man spoke, "There are many vicious beasts but many docile ones as well. I believe they house a few dragons in the northern part of the city..."

"Cool," Mickey commented. "I wonder if they'll look like any from our world," she mused to Larissa.
"Maybe," the fairy replied, only half interested.

"I don't care," Adrian replied coolly.

"No," the man answered quite quickly in a scolding tone, "This city is unsafe enough without everyone screaming and running about." It was true that there were dragons and other dangerous creatures but aside from the sernts that lived in and around the palace of the lord, the dangerous animals were kept behind strong magical barriers. "The inns here are fairly inexpensive, but it'll be wise to make sure you're getting a decent room," Hari spoke to the group, "Those who do not wish to stay within the city or do not have any money will be staying just outside of the southwest gate."
