Nailah sighed. How could she explain this to him without scaring him? "Khenu, I need you to trust me. I won't let anything happen to you, okay? Now I want you to walk..." she winced as another wave of pain washed over her. She couldn't show her pain to the boy. It would only scare him. "Walk with me. Someone is in the woods, and they are not feeling very well. We are going to see if we can help. Okay?"

Suddenly, the sounds of the kitchen quieted and Saradin emerged. The door was pushed open at a strangely heavy weight. There were a couple of people stuck to the other side of it. Looking at the pair who listened in on his work, he shook his head and chuckled lightly. "Spying on the preparations?"

Khenu shook his head, wobbling at the action but righted himself and then just walked forward towards whatever Nailah had been talking about. He'd never felt like this before. "Okay..."

Aura smiled, and if Eclipse could, he would of also. "Forgive us, we are nosy after all."
"And we have nothing better to do really. Besides it all just smells so good. Wait, I'm not going to have to eat on the floor am I?"
Aura cuffed the wolf. "At the table? You make a mess." She sighed and pointed to Saradin. "His food, his call."

Nailah took his hand and willed the pain to go away. She walked forward and tried to figure out where it was coming from. The forest. Seh sighed. THe last time she had been in there, she had gotten lost. Now she had a little boy to look after. Who could it be in the trees? Who could have that much sorrow? Only Saradin had ever shown that much. But Saradin was in the kitchen. He was giving off those goofy happy vibes he always did when he cooked. Like he really enjoyed what he was doing. Unless that was someone else... Nailah cursed silently. She wished she could see more. Not just sense feelings but actually tell who they were. She took the first steps into the woods and heard the weeping. "Hello?" she called out. It was coming from the trees. But which one. She listened closely and then used her senses. THe large one on the left. Pulling Khenu along beside her she made her way to the large trunk and saw who it was. "Bastet?" A fresh wave of pain almost sent her to her knees.

"You can eat at the table if you wish. I'll leave it up to you, I'll make sure to give you a wide berth to prevent your mess from affecting others." He let the kitchen door swing shut and looked up and down the halls. "I've got a couple of things that need to get done now before the food is served. I need someone to find everyone and bring them in, and we need to actually set up the tables in the great hall, it wont all be fitting in the kitchen." The whole while he had his gaze locked on Aurah and Eclipse, implying that they would be his assistant in these matters.

Aura and Eclipse looked at each other and laughed, saying in unison. "He means us."
"Of course we'll help Saradin. Punishment for our spying which we are guilty of as charged." She tugged on Eclipse's ears. "Come you, Saradin needs tables, so we need to make a trip to the basement."
The two turned, heading off to fulfill Saradin's request.

Khenu had let himself be led along by Nailah soon spotting her himself. She was crying. He had never seen her cry before. He had always thought her too brave to cry.
Letting go of Nailah's hand he stumbled to Bastet, slumping down next to her as he wrapped his arms around her neck and hugged her. "...Don't cry..." He still looked on with a staring gaze, and still talked in his monotone.

Nailah walked up to Bastet. "Wha...?" She felt a terrible pounding in her head. She watched Khenu hug her. Nailah tried but had to back away. The pain was too intense. She tried to say something but found herself falling....into the black void she had become so familiar with. WIth a dull thud she hit the ground.

Bastet looked up in shock, having heard them she could have run, should have, but she was too weak. Nailah and Khenu had sensed her. She still was not quite sure if she wanted to be found or not. She moved to get up and run, when Khenu hugged her, keeping her in her place.
She whiped furiously at the tears trying to get them to stop, to erase what they had already seen. Then she watched as Nailah collapsed, because of her. She shook her head to clear it, then leaned her head on Khenu's shoulder. "Thank you. Go get help, I will be fine."

With his helpers hard at work, Saradin set off at a relatively high speed through the manor hunting down whomever he could. Given some extra time he would willingly barge into every room right now to gather up whomever he could find. Sooner or later, he wound up outside the manor, searching the surrounding spaces for residents who hadnt been inside.

Khenu now detached himself from Bastet still wobbly as ever. He could do that. His eyes lazily gazed from Bastet to Nailah then to the manor, all of it blurry to him.
In small Khenu sized strides that were not in a straight line even giving off the appearance that the boy was drunk he made his way or at least was attempting to make his way back to the manor.

Spotting Khenu, Saradin practically leapt down upon the wobbly youth with a sudden shadow walk into his path. "Hey Khenu. You don't look okay," He knelt down and met the boy eye to eye. "What happened to you? Is anyone hurt?"

Aura and Eclipse were busy running things up stairs. She smiled as they went about bringing up extra tables that had long ago been stored. It reminded her of when the bloodline of the manor lived here. They always had grand banquets and such. These extra tables sure did get more use back then. In fact this would be the first time they would be used since she had taken over the manor.
Two tables they had brought up, both being smaller than her antique kitchen table but her and Eclipse just pushed them together end to end to work that issue out. The tables were in good condition, just maybe needed a quick dust down. Aura let a little evil smirk tug at her lips and looked to Eclipse.
Eclipse looked back, catching on. "Oh no, no no no. You are not using me as a dust mop."

Words were hard. His brain was thinking them but his mouth wouldn't say them. He shook his head at Saradin. Same eerie tone came out when he did find his words. "....I'm fine..."
He looked over his shoulder slightly and almost lazily raised an arm and hand to point in the direction he had wobbled from. "Bastet...and Nailah..." His brain was what? Over loaded. His empath states of mind had never been like this.
