*it took all of his strength to keep still and quiet. he was violating every bit of training, instinct, and moral he has not to attack him, but that could endanger Aeife and himself, even though they were -barely- inside the barrier. He didn't seem to want to hurt her, so he just suppressed his emotions and stayed out of sight and out of mind*

He stopped, and sniffed the air, and felt the energies of the surrounding area. Hmmm... I am too close to others. I smell a shard, but it isn't Earth. Curse it all. I can't tell which it is, but it isn't Earth. Mouse is farther away. Off in... that direction.
He darted off again, still making as much noise as before, but moving with speed, like a desperate animal being chased, only, Geo was the hunter this time.

*Mouse continued at his steady pace, tapping his crook against the ground every so often. This was trick he'd used on many occasions to confuse animals into thinking that there were many beings proceeding in a small pack to dissuede lone predators who happened to hear his approach. However, it only worked well if he continued a fairly quick pace and did not need to cross any small bodies of water. He simply didn't wish to be bothered by any unnecessary interruptions and reach Angel's shelter before she and Solase had moved elsewhere.
He'd already reached the outskirts of the forest around Warrington, and although it would be swifter to cut directly through town, the last thing he would need at this point is a chance run in with the syndicate's henchmen. Therefore Mouse proceeded a good distance around the western border of the town as the suns last rays slipped beyond the horizon.*

"Second chances?" he said raising an eye brow. "Tell me Aeife...would you ever give me or any of the other demons a second chance? Cause you see us demons, and none of them will tell you this. But we are no more then minds of humans, set in powerful bodies. There are plenty of humans out there that would be just as "evil" as me...some even worse. Kind of like you Aeife. See being a demon the power always has degree of control over you. More for some then others. That's why most demons are very violent fools. I am a rarity in the case of demons to say the least. I can control myself...but you Aeife, you can't...you can't control your self, you start to become something like dare I say Necros? An uncontrollable animal who know's nothing but instinct, hate, rage, violence being the key three. If you ask me Aeife...your not much different then me." he said grinning. "You might even be worse then me...I control, again unlike you...I could teach you to control it Aeife...I could teach you to harness all that power so you aren't some animal... but you would never give me that chance would you...yet you would give it to a human...pity, well Aeife, I just hope next time you turn into that thing, you don't end up killing the things you are trying to protect, for that would be a sad sight. And I don't know if you could ever forgive yourself. And I assure you it will happen again. You will become that thing again, I'd bet my life on it." he said deciding to leave then. Playing with a mind was so much fun, he thought as he slowly walked away. He then stopped. "Aeife, you are beautiful young girl. You care to much though, for this age. Maybe in the old days a person like you could go on but not know. Aeife, if you don't ever want my help to control your powers this is my suggestion. Leave this all behind...get rid of your shard go far away to a small village, find your self a good man, marry him. Have children, grow old, watch your grand kids grow up. And die happy resting in peace. Do it while you still can. Don't be one those that blew there chance to do it...you will regret it in the years to come." Caliesil said though he had never turned around. Why did you say that? He asked himself. Caliesil realized the answer, and froze. He swallowed and then kept walking not wanting to face his own truths about himself.

Aeife sat among the tall grasses silently, unable to come up with a retort. Her eyes hand turned away, but were drawn back with his final words. What was that last statement all about anyway? Those words bewildered her... She could tell everything else he said was a way to coax her into believing, to play her right into his hands. Though she didn't say anything, something struck a sensative chord as he said it. Did she really think that he could be right?
Her hand moved her her chest, grabbing at the cloth of the tunic as she felt the pain again.

*dameon yawned and sat up he looked down at the house and realized noone was in it... there were no auras coming from it... he'd had a good rest a nice short nap and felt better... his energy was completely returned from tha long drawn out prediciment in the shadow realm... he hada feeling just being there stressed his power plus using all that energy to disable necros and ... wel... technically kranna held caliesil... anyway... it didnt matter now.. the whole shadow realm problem was over... he would have said goodbye to his host but since he wasnt even there, there wasnt much he could do. Dameon hopped off the roof and walked peacefully and calmly out into the woods whistling as he did.. his spirits were high*

Aeife shut her eyes tightly, her lips parted with the sighs and gasps that marked her painful struggle. When Gordon appeared seemingly out of nowhere, she couldn't even seem surprised. Her free hand grasped his wrist now that things began to subside, her blue eyes looking at the ground with agonizing tears clinging to her lashes. Something inside her called out to be held... For his masculine hands to clutch her and for his arms to embrace her as if she were a child... She resisted.
"It's alright... It has... Passed now..." her grip on his wrist tightened slightly as she began to feel light-headed and dizzy.
"I'm sorry... For being such a burden..."

*shakes his head* No Aeife...you're not a burden. I do this willingly. Now, let's go back inside. oh, before I forget, he was bluffing, you were still safe. *points out a ring of trees with the limbs shorn off at eye level that marks the safety zone*

*dameon wandered out farther... he could feel an energy growing as he moved outward... he suddenly realized that there was a barier of energy around the house... he marveled at the creativity... and continued on...*

Geo was still hot on Mouse's trail. However, a constant clicking sound wherever he went, entered Geo's ears. This confused him... he wondered if more than just Mouse was there. But his body could only sense the energy of one being that he was following. This was strange. He followed the path of energy rather than the noise. It was quite strange to him overall.

Aeife lowered her head as he spoke, trying to get a sense of balance back.
"I see," was all she could say in response to Caliesil's bluff being explained. She had wondered why he didn't come closer, and that seemed to be a good explaination. Avoiding using Gordon as a support, she slowly rose to her feet and stood a little shakily. He had said something about going back inside, and she didn't want to trouble him with helping her to her feet or walk that distance back.

"Afraid?" she spoke though didn't look directly at him, rather she looked dreamily into the distance, "I'm not afraid... Of him, or the other demons, or death... I'm not afraid of anything..."
Aeife spoke in a desensitized tone, her eyes staring blankly as if she were seeing beyond everything that could be seen, as if she were looking into something that wasn't visible to just anyone. Then she suddenly turned to look him in the eye, though the motion was slow, that same emptiness in her eyes now that she had as she gazed into nothingness.
"I've grown too used to the pain..."
Her eyes lowered, filled with a sudden humanity. Tears threatened to form as her hand raised, her fingers touching gently in the valley of her chest. There was more than physical hurt or mental strife... Her heart was broken.
