Okay. This quiz is a short answer quiz. Please answer in one to three complete sentences unless stated otherwise. ((PM me your answers))
1. Name two accepted theories of how a hyperdrive works.
2. Explain one of the two theories given in your answer to number one.
3. Why do we not know exactly how a hyperdrive works?
Extra Credit: State and support another theory on how a hyperdrive works other than the one stated in your answer for number two. It can be one we studied in class or one of your own creation as long as you can support your claims with fact.

Don't worry. Everyone did.
I'm going to move the quiz to a future date so we can start a new unit.
The next section is going to be on the mechanics of the lightsabre. Seeing that it it part of the Jedi's training to build his or her own, I reckoned that it would be a good idea to at least give the majority of you an idea of how one works.

We start when he says we start. By the way, sorry for not being at the guild for so long. School sucks right now. I'll be on more often by the end of the month.

Okay. There are three basic parts to a lightsabre...
-power cell -primary crystal -secondary crystal
The power cell provides...well, power. Essentially it is a large battery that generates a beam of energy. The primary crystal brings the beam into the principle focus, while the secondary crystal is used to adjust the length of the focus.
Does this make sense so far?

Actually, if I remember correctly, they are a millimeter wide loop of plasma. Is that right?

Essentially, yes. The blade is not light, but rather a stream of supercharged particles. The blade is essentially a mixture of excited gases kept energized by a plasma field, although the initial atomic reaction is initiated primarily by focused light.
Can anyone here tell me the two main categories of crystals used in lightsabres?
