Atreyu
When Two Are One

Go!
And take away the pain of being me
Soothe my soul caress my heart and
End my fear all my bad memories
Eradicated
Ring!
Like gunshots heard against a silent night
My love is louder than these words
They’re stronger than the rest, unstoppable

Drawn together
Painter’s brush stroke
Sleight of hand, we
We won’t go up in smoke
Fates colliding
Love undying

Like the rising tide
Beating hearts grow but never die
To simplify
I’ll stand by your side
Close my eyes
Hope will never die

I've had this song stuck in my head for like a week. I'm obsessed with it. Easily my most favorite song by Atreyu.

Cheesy Nipples

First I was afraid
I was petrified
I saw the toaster burning there
on the kitchen side
And I spent so much time
thinking how to put it out
without a doubt
I threw s**t loads of water on
and so you're back
home from work
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have locked the ******** door
I should have barricaded the room
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back home so ******** soon

Go on now go
run out the door
just chase me out now
'cause I ain't welcome anymore
weren't you the one who said learn to cook
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd give up 'n say "******** no, not I
I will try
as long as i have a cook book
I know I will give it a go
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my know-how to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

Strapping Young Lad
WRONG SIDE

Woke up screaming on the wrong side of the head
Dreaming of Demons who'd be better off
Better off dead
Now, I know I'm accountable
For the things I've said before,
But I just can't--
SHUT UP
SHUT UP
SHUT UP
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP

AND GET OUT THE DOOR

So let's sing volumes for the souls that aren't for sale
Indeed, lately there's been Hellhounds on my trail

Woke up screaming on the wrong side of the Zen
So
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP
GET UP!
Say the word!
Say the word, and I'll be gone
Say the word, and I'll be gone

Say the word, and I'll be gone
Forever and ever
[Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up!]
Singing the good for the bad
In the age of the fall
And the enemy plays
For the whole ******** world

Sooner or later,
The nights with the satyr
Will bring back the memory,
Leaving you money and time

Sweet locomotive
With you as the motive
The beauty, the agony
Mixes with honey and grime
Sly imitator, the cats in the cradle
The dogs in the stable
Will always remain on your mind

Sooner or later,
It comes to the table reminding them all
That the memory always was mine

Wake up running
In the only way I can
This type of dependency
Turns a boy into a man

Now I know I'm accountable,
Now I know I'm responsible;
NO PEACE FOR YOU, LITTLE MAN
Say the word, and I'll be gone
Say the word, and I'll be gone

Say the word, and I'll be gone
Forever and ever
[Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up! Get out! Get up!]
Singing the good for the bad
In the age of the fall
And the enemy plays
For the whole ******** world

Not gonna quote all the lyrics but gonna quote two songs's Choruses.

The first? Peter Schilling's Major Tom. (not to be confused with David Bowie's "A Space Oddity" also known as "Major Tom")

Peter Schilling's version is a more haunting melody, and always gives me shivers and brings tears to me eyes.

Ah, hell... I'll get the full lyrics for ya anyway, since the whole song is pretty bittersweet in a beautiful way (to me).

Peter Schilling's "Major Tom"
---
Standing there alone
the ship is waiting
all systems are go
are you sure?
control is not convinced
but the computer
has the evidence
"no need to abort"
the countdown starts

watching in a trance
the crew is certain
nothing left to chance
all is working
trying to relax
up in the capsule
"send me up a drink"
jokes Major Tom
the count goes on

Chorus:
4 3 2 1
Earth below us
drifting falling
floating weightless
calling calling home...

second stage is cut
we're now in orbit
stabilizers up
runnning perfect
starting to collect
requested data
what will it effect
when all is done
thinks Major Tom

back at ground control
there is a problem
go to rockets full
not responding
"hello Major Tom
are you receiving
turn the thrusters on
we're standing by"
there's no reply

Chorus:
4 3 2 1
Earth below us
drifting falling
floating weightless
calling calling home...

across the stratosphere
a final message
"give my wife my love"
then nothing more

far beneath the ship
the world is mourning
they don't realize
he's alive
no one understands
but Major Tom sees
now the life commands
this is my home
I'm coming home

Epilogue Chorus:
Earth below us
drifting falling
floating weightless
coming home...
Earth below us
drifting falling
floating weightless
coming home...
Earth below us
drifting falling
floating weightless
coming coming home...
home.....

Don't know how many of you know about the Selkie irish folklore. It's about a type of "mermaid" that is a seal in the water, and a human on land, but is always painfully yearning to be in the other place. That is what the chorus of this song, including the epilogue chorus, brings to my mind. And it has a very personal meaning.

I'll post the other song in a second post.

Song number two is Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb":

Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

---
Don't have to be a junky to know what it is like to be "comfortably numb". Anyone who has felt a pain so intense, so deep, so pervasive that their body/mind goes numb will probably recognize the meaning of this song. Not a junky ... want to make that perfectly clear ... never have been ... never will be, if I can help it ... But this song still holds a very deep, almost painful association for me ... Just yearning to be comfortably numb, I guess... Or at least remembering times when I did.

Mr Bungle
Okay, all you pus-sucking ******** out there
It's time to win a chance to butt-bang
Your daughter's tight virgin cherry a** to caller #666

The urge is too much to take
All I can think about is playing with myself
It's time to masturbate
I've got my Hustler and I don't need nothin' else

Ginger...Ginger

My hand gets tired and my d**k gets sore
But the girls of porn want more
So I flip throught the pages one more time
And I just let the jism fly

Yeah yeah yeah

A quarter for a peep show
A private booth or talking to a naked whore
XXX video
976 and I can whack it on the phone

Nobody's home, I'm alone
The devil in Miss Jones
Nobody's home, I'm alone
Aja & John Holmes

We got gushin' gonads, tingling tushes
Hairy balls and hairy bushes
S & M, whips and chains
Pregnant ladies with menstrual pains
We got hand jobs and n****e tweaks
Finger bangs and slappin' cheeks
We got rape, necro & both ways
And lots of hung studs for all you gays
We got incest & bestiality too
We got Sade & the sweetest taboo
We got girls who'll eat your pee and poo
And guys who'd love to ******** your shoe
There's she-males, lezbos, & shaved beav
And D-cup mamas with so much cleave
Senior citizens who love to watch
And sniff those skid marks from your crotch - yeah!

Ain't got no woman next to me
I just got this magazine
And what's on the TV screen
But that's okay with me

I was trained to ******** you baby...

This song is so unbelievably awesome

Yay! It's finally raining in this desert climate! Winter is almost here! Days will be cooler!

From the 70's
I Love A Rainy Night, by Eddie Rabbit
...
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good

Well, I love a rainy night
It's such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
Taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow

Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night

Ooh-ooh

I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good

Well, I love a rainy night
It's such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain
On my face
To taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadows

Puts a song
In this heart of mine
Puts a smile on my face every time

'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Ooh, I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night

Ooh-ooh

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, it makes me high
Ooh, I love a rainy night
You know I do, yeah, yeah
I love a rainy night

I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes..

I've been dealing with someone who I thought was a friend and a good roommate, but it's just been falling apart. So this song I could relate to; I just wish someone could sing it to me, and replace the he's with she's so it's relevant. xd

Sarah McLachlan

Good Enough

Hey your glass is empty
It’s a hell of a long way home
Why don’t you let me take you
It’s no good to go alone
I never would have opened up
But you seemed so real to me
And after all the bullshit I’ve heard
It’s refreshing now to see
That I don’t have to pretend
She doesn’t expect it from me

So don’t tell me I haven’t been good to you
Don’t tell me I have never been there for you
Just tell me why
Nothing is good enough

Hey little girl would you like some candy
Your momma said that it’s ok
The door is open come on outside
No I can’t come out today
It’s not the wind that cracked your shoulder
And threw you to the ground
Who’s there that makes you so afraid
You’re shaken to the bone
No, I don’t understand
You deserve so much more than this

So don’t tell me why
He’s never been good to you
Don’t tell me why
He’s never been there for you
Don’t you know that why
Is simply not good enough
So just let me try
And I will be good to you
Just let me try
And I will be there for you
I’ll show you why
You’re so much more than good enough

So just let me try
And I will be good to you
Just let me try
And I will be there for you
I’ll show you why
You’re so much more than good enough...

Alice Cooper

I Am the Spider

I'm your lover
I'm your brother
I'm your killer
I'm your friend
I'm your teacher
I'm your preacher
I'm the reaper in the end

I'm your healer
I'm your dealer
I'm your angel, lets pretend
I'm your jailer
I'm your failure
I'm the reaper in the end

Along came a Spider
Crept up beside her
Spun his web deep inside her
My darkness will guide her

I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider

You're my sinner
You're my dinner
My little puppet, let's pretend
You're the cure to my affliction
My addiction to the end

Along came a Spider
Crept up beside her
Spun his web deep inside her
My darkness will guide her

I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider

I was born to it (?)
Not something to strive for
Not something to even admire
Unless it was
it's done with the greatest of taste
Conviction and expertise
I am the spider

Along came a Spider
Crept up beside her
Spun his web deep inside her
My darkness will guide her

I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider
I am the spider

I finally got my hands on this album, it's pretty sweet. Not a ******** like Welcome to my Nightmare, but it's still epic.

This song has an interesting history... so stick around and read the post script! I casually looked for translations of the chorus of the song ...
(drum roll)

Iko Iko ... by the Dixie Cups 1965.
---

My grandma and your grandma, were sittin by the fire,
My grandma told your grandma, I'm going to set your flag on fire,

chorus -
Takin bout hey now, hey now
Iko! Iko! an de'
Jackomo fe no nan e' , Jackomo fe nan e'

Look at my King all dressed in red
Iko! Iko! an de'
I bet you 5 dollars, he kill you dead!
Jackomo fe nan e'

Takin bout ..... hey now, hey now
Iko! Iko! an de'
Jackomo fe no an e' , Jackomo fe nan e'

My flagboy and your flagboy, sittin by the fire,
My flagboy told your flagboy, I'm going to set your flag on fire,

Takin bout ..... hey now, hey now
Iko! Iko! an de'
Jackomo fe no an e' , Jackomo fe nan e'

See that guy all dressed in green, Iko! Iko! an de'
He's not a man, he's a lovin machine!

Jackomo fe nan e'
Takin bout hey now, hey now
Iko! Iko! an de'
Jackomo fe no nane' , Jackomo fe nan e'

- instrumental solo -

Takin bout hey now, hey now
Iko! Iko! an de'
Jackomo fe no ane' , Jackomo fe nan e'

---

This song was made popular by the Dixie Cups, but a couple other versions were recorded before the Dixie Cups release, one published in 1953 was titled "Jockamo".

The Dixie Cups version was actually "accidental". The soundman was still recording during a break while they were recording another song, and the girls (two sisters and a cousin) started messing around with some drumsticks, ashtrays, and sang a song their mothers used to sing. Later, a small base line was added to the song.

The chorus is thought to be a blend of Florida gulf native languages, African (Gambia dialect), and French... basically Creole.

Iko is thought to be derived from "Aigo" which means "pay attention!" or "listen here!" and Jockamo (or Chockamo) roughly translates as "Kiss my behind" or "Don't mess with me." or (my interpretation) "Can't touch this." It's also thought to be from the french word for Jester/Fool. Considering the Native and slave tendency for code speak, it probably means both (my opinion).

The song is based off a Creole Mardi Gras pep sqad style call and response chant. It's about a Flag Boy threatening to sabotage another team's parade display.

The song is all about "Yeah, we bad! You suck!" blaugh

Pretty neat, huh?

This is by Stars. Whom with I developed a slight obsession over the summer. I recommend them highly.

Quote:
Sweetness, sweetness never suits me, when I get up to take you home
Maybe it's love, love at first slightly drunk
Now I'm walking with the sun in my mouth

Worry, worry is a well, going to let it fall tonight, from where we stand

What can't be decided
In the morning it will bring itself to you
I can see what's coming, but I'm not saying it

Sickness, weakness at the thought, of how you're going to play
How long should I stay?
Promises, promises never cease to assist it, now I'm back on my back
Please bite your words
Hurry, hurry to believe, I can always trust, as much as you deceive

What can't be decided
In the morning it will bring itself to you
I can see what's coming, but I'm not saying it

What's your middle name? How do you play the game?
I'll be the first to leave
When did I grow up? I don't want to say too much
I'll be the first to leave

What can't be decided
In the morning it will bring itself to you
What can't be decided
Can fool you into thinking maybe you can choose

I can see what's coming
But I'm not saying it

The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Waterfall
Nothing can harm me at all
My worries seem so very small
With my waterfall
I can see
My rainbow calling me
Through the misty breeze
Of my waterfall
Some people say
Day-dreamings for all the, huh,
Lazy minded fools
With nothin' else to do
So let them laugh, laugh at me
So just as long as I have you
To see me through
I have nothing to lose
'Long as I have you
Waterfall
Don't ever change your ways
Fall with me for a million days
Oh, my waterfall

I watched Singles last night, this was in it, I love this song so much.

P!nk

So What

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na

I guess i just lost my husband
I don't know where he went
So i'm gonna drink my money
I'm not gonna pay his rent (Nope)
I got a brand new attitude
And i'm gonna wear it tonight
I wanna get in trouble
I wanna start a fight

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
I wanna start a fight
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
I wanna start a fight

So so what?
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't need you
And guess what
I'm having more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright, I'm just fine
And you're a tool
So so what?
I am a rockstar
I got my rock moves
And i don't want you tonight

Uh, check my flow, uh

The waiter just took my table
And gave to Jessica Simp- s**t!
I guess i'll go sit with drum boy
At least he'll know how to hit
What if this song's on the radio
Then somebody's gonna die
I'm gonna get in trouble
My ex will start a fight

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
He's gonna start a fight
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
We're all gonna get in a fight!

So so what?
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't need you
And guess what
I'm having more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright, I'm just fine
And you're a tool
So so what?
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't want you tonight

You weren't there
You never were
You want it all
But thats not fair
I gave you life
I gave my all
You weren't there
You let me fall

So so what?
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't need you
And guess what
I'm having more fun
And now that we're done (we're done)
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright(I'm alright),I'm just fine (I'm just fine)
And you're a tool
So so what?
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't want you tonight

No No, No No
I Don't want you tonight
You weren't fair
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright, I'm just fine
And you're a tool
So so what?
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And i don't want you tonight
(wooooooooooohoooooooo!)
Ba da da da da da (*tongue spits*)

The Postal Service
(guy)
Would someone please call a surgeon
who can crack my ribs and repair this broken heart
that you're deserting for better company

I can't accept that it's over
and I will block the door
like a goalie tending the net
in the third quarter
of a tied game rivalry

so just say how to make it right
and I swear I'll do my best to comply

tell me am I right to think that there could be nothing better
than making you my bride and slowly growing old together

(Girl)
I feel I must interject here
you're getting carried away
feeling sorry for yourself
with these revisions and gaps in history

so let me help you remember
I've made charts and graphs
that should finally make it clear
I've prepared a lecture
on why I have to leave

so please back away and let me go

I can't my darling; I love you so
oh oh
(guy)
tell me am I right to think that there could be nothing better
than making you my bride and slowly growing old together.
(girl)
Don't you feed me lies about some idealistic future
Your heart won't heal right if you keep tearing out the sutures
(guy)
I know that I have made mistakes
and I swear I'll never wrong you again
(girl)
You've got a lure I can't deny
but you've had your chance
so say goodbye

Say goodbye
