I'm fine, it's not like I haven't been beaten up before. If she comes after and I bet she will, I'm not going to stay here. You know that. Syaoran said as her eyes finally met his and stared into her deep emerald eyes. If only it were just being beaten up, as much as I don't want to admit it, she could have killed me in an instant and almost being killed is so much different. Syaoran said as his eyes dropped as he turned his gaze and face to the ceiling. I almost killed someone today.. Syoran said out loud in a low voice laced with sorrow.

The girl.. with the purple hair... I almost killed her today. Syoran said softly. All I remember is that I was beating on the shield with my sword, I wanted to get you out, I hadn't realized that after you were put to sleep, that it had gone down.... Syaoran said as the pain washed over his eyes. Closing them he rolled over, exposing his badk to Sakura. ..and my sword went right through her.. He said with a shaking voice as he tightly clenched his fist.

No it's not alright. What.. if.. His voice seemed to die off as if he didn't really want to say it, but continued anyway. What if it had been you are not her that was standing there? Then I would have had your blood on my hands and not hers. Syaoran said lowly as he closed his eyes tighter as it replayed in his head. Feeling her hand on his back, was comforting yes, but it did little stop his mind.

Sakura had taken Syaoran by surprise and he kind of jumped as she touched him. No, I think that all of you have more control then to do something like that. I just... Sakura I'm sorry. Syaoran said as his hazel eyes searched her emerald eyes for something that even he wasn't sure of. Maybe he just wanted forgiveness. I don't mean to be all depressed around you. I'm trying my best to smile full heartedly for you, but it's getting harder to keep my head up. As if Aonu wasn't bad enough in wanting to kill me, now this other girl just plan wants to take me from you and this piled on to fo everything going on with my mother... Syaoran's voice stoped dead in it's tracks as his eyes dropped. He could hear the conversation he had eariler with Toya replaying in his head. Shiefa wouldn't say it, but in the end it's what she didn't say that told me the real story. Sakura... my mother's dying.. and I didn't want to tell you.. He said rather ashamed of the fact that over and over again he'd tell sakura that he didn't want secrets between them, yet he still kept ones from her. It was the worst kind of lose-lose situations ever. Not to tell her and have her be angey and sad when she finds out, or to tell her and to have her be sad. Things just didn't seem to be getting any easier.

Syaoran listened and understood what she was saying, but there was one fatal thing that she forgot. You are what matter most to me! Syaoran exclaimed only raising his voice in fustration. I can't leave you alone, I won't leave you alone. Not now, not ever. I will always be by your side to comfort you, to protect you. Syaoran said truthly and whole heartedly. My place is by your side. Syaoran said as he pushed himself through the pain at sat up only to wrap his arms around her. I don't ever want to be without you. He said softly.

Sakura may have let go of Syaoran, but Syaoran didn't let go of Sakura. Sa-Sakura.. go-gomen nasai. Syoaran said in a completely, utterly low voice. He was sorry for everything but more importantly for today. I really thought ahe was going to kill me and I'll I could think about was you.. He said as he burried his face into her shoulder as red hot tears leaked out the corners of his eyes. He didn't act like it, but he was actually scared. More scared then he had even been before. He never thought anything could top the scared felling of losing Sakura, but todays events with Aonu totally stole that.

Why does this have to happen to us? Why can't we just be allowed to be happy? Syaoran said lowly, half muffled by the fabric of Sakura's shirt. Syaoran had to admit, he tottaly felt like he ws acting like a girl, getting all emotional over everything, but he had alot of things going on upstairs. His heart's not confused, but his head is. There was just su much going on up there, weighing him down he felt like the could crack undert he pressure of it all. They both were trying thier best to smile, but was it all vain?

Syaoran blinked as he broke thier hug and looked at her throught his teary eyes. And what's that? Syaoran asked noticing the smile on her face. It was a real smile to and it only brought out a real smile of his own. He'd do anything for that smile, even bare everything in his heart infront of her. With that smile by his side, there wasn't a damn thing he couldn't do. It was intoxicating and yet so powerful.
