We had a horse named Mosby! He was a nipper, too. But he was sent over to the other barn.. He was so cute, lol. Especially when he got his winter coat. Can you say fur ball?

These are all pictures of Sarah when she was 5 or 6 years old. In the learning stages.... LOL I got her when she was 5, in September. She had been in training for racing, but never raced. They said "no speed" but I suspect she had an injury in the ankle or pastern, as the x-rays revealed a healed injury and some ragged cartilelge. The owner from whom I bought her retrained race horses for field hunters, but since Sarah was "only" 15.3, she never did anything with her. So, I essentially had a green broke horse.

These are all photos of her at age 5 or 6. She is now 21, but essentially the same good girl.

She had her own style of jumping her beginning fences.... Nicely tucked front llegs, and hell with it, let's trot back legs. blaugh

I got some new pictures of me and my baby, Squirt.

Here they are!

That's him again. I was trying to get him to stand like he should, but I was too lazy and he was too bored to stand still.

Sorry about coloring my eyes in. I just know that's one way for me to be tracked down, and I don't want that to happen to me! But anyway, this is me on Squirt after a work-out.

I don't actually own a horse, but I'm very close to some of the horses at the stable I go to.

This is Apple, my favorite little POA. I call her Apple Dapple or Applekins, usually. She's not exactly able to be ridden in lessons right now. I'm not exactly her size anyway.
She, along with her friend Spice, were abused by their former owner, a very tall amish guy, who rode the two little ponies himself in a big western saddle. He drugged Apple to ride her.
My stable bought them around a year ago and now they have another chance at a decent life. Timid little Apple has only just started to make progress. She tolerates the presence of most girls now, but when it comes to being brushed she won't just anyone near easily. She only really seems to like an experienced rider named Ashely and me. If she didn't like me, I wouldn't have been able to dress her like a ladybug! In some of the pictures Apple looks a little nervous, she was in front of a lot of people for the first time in months, or even years. She tolerated those pipecleaner feelers and dangley ribbons very well.
She's my little buddy. She even gives kisses and lets me hug her.

Notch is the pudgy little quarter horse I ride. (That's a horrible picture of me up there, but I just love his grumpy face)
He was leased to the stable I'm at for three years, his owner is supposed to take him back in April. When we first got him, he couldn't even weave cones, he was very, very out of shape and very sad. He was kept all alone before he came here. He needed a lot of work and some friends. He's gotten a lot better now, and he just loves to jump. I always ride him english, but he's good at a lot of things. He was at a show a while ago with a friend of mine, and his owner didn't even ask about him when she saw him. So she may not be claiming him in April.
He's not really affectionate, but everybody just loves him.

Personally, I think he'd make a great pirate.

He got his name because of the little notch in his right ear and nostril. Nobody know how he got them, but they're very cute. You can sort of see them in the pirate picture.

Whoo! I can ramble a lot!

Here's Magic, this is a few months old when it was still warm out. I couldn't get a good shot because he kept coming over to me. rofl

And here's Star, I don't own him, but care for him (along with my mom). He's terrified of cameras, so this is the best I've got of him. I used the zoom, and he still ran off when he saw the camera. sweatdrop

( Oh, and Star had hoof boots on in that pic, because he was recovering from an abscess. )
