I don't actually own a horse, but I'm very close to some of the horses at the stable I go to.

This is Apple, my favorite little POA. I call her Apple Dapple or Applekins, usually. She's not exactly able to be ridden in lessons right now. I'm not exactly her size anyway.
She, along with her friend Spice, were abused by their former owner, a very tall amish guy, who rode the two little ponies himself in a big western saddle. He drugged Apple to ride her.
My stable bought them around a year ago and now they have another chance at a decent life. Timid little Apple has only just started to make progress. She tolerates the presence of most girls now, but when it comes to being brushed she won't just anyone near easily. She only really seems to like an experienced rider named Ashely and me. If she didn't like me, I wouldn't have been able to dress her like a ladybug! In some of the pictures Apple looks a little nervous, she was in front of a lot of people for the first time in months, or even years. She tolerated those pipecleaner feelers and dangley ribbons very well.
She's my little buddy. She even gives kisses and lets me hug her.

Notch is the pudgy little quarter horse I ride. (That's a horrible picture of me up there, but I just love his grumpy face)
He was leased to the stable I'm at for three years, his owner is supposed to take him back in April. When we first got him, he couldn't even weave cones, he was very, very out of shape and very sad. He was kept all alone before he came here. He needed a lot of work and some friends. He's gotten a lot better now, and he just loves to jump. I always ride him english, but he's good at a lot of things. He was at a show a while ago with a friend of mine, and his owner didn't even ask about him when she saw him. So she may not be claiming him in April.
He's not really affectionate, but everybody just loves him.

Personally, I think he'd make a great pirate.
He got his name because of the little notch in his right ear and nostril. Nobody know how he got them, but they're very cute. You can sort of see them in the pirate picture.
Whoo! I can ramble a lot!
