Rose was on the laying couch nibbling a cookie to help with her blood sugar. She was still a little pale, but looking better thanks to Jack. She smiled as Noah came back into the room. She lifted her hand to tell him to come. "Dad's a little mad." The woman commented. "Do you think now is a good time to talk about moving out?" She half joked. Jack took Trixie to the family library to escape. It was less awkward than going to the other's room. "I don't like it when Dad's like that." He commented as he collapsed into a chair.

After making sure the coast was clear, Noah entered the living room and sat next to his lover with no objections. The ward took the witch's hand gently massaged one her fingers. "And I bet he's got half a mind to turn me into a frog." Noah retorted and sighed. He couldn't believe how much trouble he and his mentor had caused. The world of Hollywood action romanticism had no place in reality, especially with overprotective fathers. When asked about moving out, Noah scoffed lightly. "Right. Then what? Your dad uses an all seeing eye to check on you?" The red clad ward leaned back on the sofa, still rubbing the witch's hand like a worry stone. "I don't think Trixie would approve either. I don't know how she'd cope without me." Once inside the study, Trixie began to calm down a bit. The quiet atmosphere of the library was soothing and scent of books and parchment was an aroma the little witch just loved. "I-I don't either." Trixie concurred with Jack. "Does Pierre often become angry or is just when something happens in the family?" The little witch couldn't imagine the patriarch being so furious. It didn't seem natural. Being so irate just seemed to betray his gentleman demeanor.

Rose smiled. It was a bright smile. " Noah, my dad does have an all seeing eye. He calls her his wife." The woman pointed out that her mother was a seer. "I'm sure my mother wont say anything. She hasn't up till now." She added. They wouldn't have to worry about her father finding out. "As for Trixie, there would be an issue. I don't want to push her away from you and she of course would be welcome to visit with us, but I feel like I need space to breath a bit." She told her lover the worries she had. Jack shook his head no. "He's really mild-mannered. The only time I've seen him yell before now was when he was watching sports and even then it wasn't a angry yell. I'm sure it's because Rose was hurt. He probably is protective of us." The boy responded with a smile.

The young man laughed when he was reminded of Jasmine's powers. He knew this, but it wasn't what he meant. "I mean like magic mirror or something. Speaking of which, you'll have to explain to me how your mom's powers actually work." Noah breathed a say as he was also reminded of Jasmine's reliability. She certainly was honorable. Maybe because she still wanted grandchildren from the young man. "I'm just afraid of your dad finally using half his brain to connect the dots." Noah then listened to Rose as she went on about how Trixie would be welcomed to visit if they were to move out, but not too often. Noah understood in a surprisingly mature way. He was actually being quite mature about the discussion as a whole. "My real problem, is money." As if on cue, Amos lurked out of the kitchen with a s**t eating grin plastered on his face. Standing there with a hand behind his back and twiddling fingers. "I might be able to help the both of you with that particular problem." The white haired merc eyes leered down on the two young lovers with a certain impish nature. It was true that he did have a way to help the two, it was just a matter of whether or not they would agree to the terms. Trixie silently agreed with the boy's guess. It was reasonable to assume Pierre was just overly protective. Perhaps to due to his own history. The little witch remembered a couple of a stories Jasmine had told her and when Len was on run. Pierre was pretty serious about the safety of children then. Why would now be any different. To take her mind of the less than pleasant memory, Trixie brought up what she and Jack were talking about before Noah's mentor arrived. "So, about those books?"

Leprechaun_Sean [/quote "I think my dad already knows. He's not blind, but I'm sure he's glad that we aren't teenagers like they were. Besides you have other things going for you. Like you were reconized by Yvonne, that pretty much gives you Vega approval." She told him with a smile. Even if he didn't know, there wouldn't be much that Pierre could complain about with Noah other than a job at this point. That was when Amos came into the room on the comment of money. Rose responded by giving the man a sour look and then looking at her lover. "I have a job." She pointed out. Her job was pretty good and it paid well. Jack was lost in his own thoughts for a moment. Still pondering over his father when Trixie asked about the book. At first he didn't know what she was talking about then he connected a few dots. "Oh. Yes. The books, what about them?" The boy asked wondering what details she was digging for.

"Oh, I already about that, sweetheart." Amos told the buxom blonde with an unscrupulous grin. "My new job as a city council member gives access to the books. So, I can see what you're up to. Plus, other connections. But that's besides the point. You see, where you might already have a paying career..." The white haired man slowly turned his gaze to his pupil. "Noah does not. And I just may be able to help with that." Noah returned his master's offer with a hard glare and disapproving folded arms. "Amos, you're already on less than thin ice. The fact that you're even still in this house amazes me. Whatever comes out of your mouth could be worse than the devil's spit." The ward's words were thick with venom, but his mentor knew him all too well. Amos practically just waited for the young man to cave in and ask. "Fine. What is it?" Noah asked begrudgingly.
The hunter merrily clapped his hands together before pulling a very formal and slightly foreboding document. On it was two pictures of a woman with long dirty blonde hair. She looked almost every part of the typical biker chick persona. And above were the words, WANTED. Noah looked at the paper for a moment before tossing it away with disinterest. "A bounty? No thanks Amos. I don't do stuff like that anything. I got some personal reasons for staying out that kind of work." The ward slightly turned his to Rose, assuring her that she came first when it meant personal gain. The white haired man chuckled as he paced about. "Oh, I'm sure you are, kid. No sense in risking your life when you've hitched yourself to a fertility goddess." Noah instantly rose from his seat ready beat his mentor black and blue once before being pushed back. "Simmer down, kiddo. I'm only teasing. But, I'm not teasing when I say that I want to help." "What do you mean, what about them?" Trixie asked incredulously. "You said your mom and dad were going to give Noah and I some special books to read and learn from. I wanted to know more about what kind of books they were. Were they spell books, ancient tomes, ore maybe and page from Merlin's journal?" The little witch's voiced piqued and raced, contrasting greatly with her foster brother. Trixie didn't leave much for personal space as she invaded Jack's when she barraged the poor boy with questions.

Rose could feel her lover's displeasure and once Amos was done saying what he was going to say, he would be leaving. When the suggestion of Noah being a bounty hunter came up the woman frowned and finally spoke up. "There is no need for Noah to do that. He can live a comfortable life without ever having to step into danger. If his goal is to be a house husband so be it. You make it sound like Noah has no worth unless he does something dangerous and 'manly'." The woman responded showing that her mercy was running out. Jack's face started to get red as the girl moved closer. He wasn't going to push her away since that would be labeled as rude. "Yes, but Aunt Yvonne has them. You'll get a book of spells only the inner family is allowed to know, one big book on magical theory, there's one on running a proper Vega household, another on developing talents and where they can lead you, There's one on colleges, universities, and trade schools, There's one on politics and diplomacy, one on ethics, another on familiars, and there's a book on short stories and poems." The teen rambled off what he remember from the the day he got his books.

Amos was beginning to approach his limit with this girl. Not in anger or frustration, no. The man was just beginning to see how far of an uphill battle it would be for him to even prove any kind of point. It wasn't the man's goal promote a reentry into a life of violence for Noah. He simply wanted to help the young man. He knew the young man's past, and how it still followed him. It was never a question of masculinity. No, Noah had proven his 'manliness' long ago. But, as he could see in both of their eyes, Amos was an unwanted guest. Any further discussion would just be asking for trouble. The white haired man breathed a sigh of defeat and shook his head. Alright. I think I can take a hint. "I'll see myself out then." Tossing his hands into his pockets, the red duster wearing man head for the door. "Also, I thought I might drop these off. Thought you might want them back." The old man reached into his coat and pulled out a leather belt with some kind of holster stitched onto it. Amos set the holster on a nearby coat rack before opening the front door and leaving. "So long, Noah." He might not have been good at whatever his end goal was, Noah didn't seem to show much sign of care either way. At least, not until his mentor left behind something on the coat rack. Noah fell prey to his own curiosity and rose from his seat. His master was gone, but at the same time, he wasn't when the ward saw what was left behind. Noah unhooked the belt holster off the rack and inspected it. "These were mine." The young man said aloud. Inside the holster was a pair of fine polished wooden nunchaku. The martial arts weapon were slightly ornate with a dragon style artwork etching. For a moment, Noah felt a wave of nostalgia. The young man was half tempted to don the holster right there. Trixie listened intently as the youth in front of her rambled on about the kinds of books she would be given in the future. All of them sounded so exciting to the girl. Her mind raced with excitement like a hungry dog waiting impatiently for a meal. "Can we go see Auntie right now?" Trixie asked, clapping her hands and shaking her wrists with unrestrained enthusiasm. The very thought of having even more books to read made the girl much too giddy. Probably too much for someone like Jack.

Rose relaxed a bit more as Amos left. Her eyes went to the belt set. Part of her was very curious. Noah didn't really want to talk about the past. He had always wanted to focus on the future. The belt was a symbol of this past. She still wanted to know more about who Noah was and where he had been. She had to think of something to say. The only thing she could thought. "Did you learn martial arts. That may be why your so flexible in bed." As soon as she was done saying that she wanted to hit her head against the wall. Jack smiled a bit. Trixie's excitement carried over to Jack. "I can call her." He answered with a maybe statement as he moved his phone from his pocket. He then started to scroll to find the right number. He then clicked the button to call his aunt. She was available to answer this this time. "Hey Aunt Yvonne can we come over now. Trixie wants to learn now." The boy smiled and nodded.

The ward examined the holster for a bit longer than he intended. It just felt so right to be in his possession once more. Noah's attention was broken when Rose brought up his flexibility in bed. Despite the ward feeling his normal reaction to the bold statement, it was partly true. "Amos, did teach me tai chi." He responded solemnly. "Along with other stuff." Noah sighed finally strapped on the belted holster. In an instant, everything felt right in the world. "Rose," The ward spoke suddenly. "Do you really want to know about me and my history?" The sudden divulging of information might have been out of nowhere, but Noah began to feel a bit more courageous. Having his old sidearm with him, felt like being able to use a broken limb. A sudden vulnerability was gone and weight was lifted off his shoulder. Trixie's eye's beamed and blinked at the prospect. She had been waiting for what felt like an eternity to her to get her hands on new reading material. When her foster brother reached into his pocket to use his cell phone, the little witch could hardly contain herself or keep herself form shouting into the phone herself to say hello. Instead, Trixie waited for Jack to hang up and give the word.

Rose sighed. She was glad that he didn't take here comment the wrong way. She just wanted to break him from his thoughts. Her heart leaped when he asked if she was ready to learn about his past. The woman pressed her lips together before answering. "When you are ready to talk about it, I'm ready to listen." She answered to make sure that he knew that she was not going to press him. Jack told his aunt about how excited Trixie was to learn and then turned to him. He nodded to her so that she knew that his aunt was allowing her to acquire the books early. "Yes Aunt Yvonne. I will make sure that she understands everything." The young man told his aunt. He would tutor Trixie every step of the way.

Noah gave a half smile as his lover offered a passive response. If it was anyone else who had said something like that, it would have instantly gotten on the young man's nerves. Much like his mentor, Noah was a man of action. Someone who preferred to take charge. That was what his side arm had reminded him. The ward felt it was time to open the door to his past and let Rose come inside. The ward rejoined buxom blonde on the couch and sighed. Where to start, he wondered. "When I was just a teenager, I became the head of a small gang, known as Lung Clan. In the beginning, it was just me and a friend of mine. Abby, a girl I knew from high school joined me, and in a short year, we already had a posse and reputation. We sold drugs, caused destruction, intimidation, extortion, you name it. Though, I tried to still have a set of morals, it's not something that made me a saint in any light."
The ward paused for a moment to see if his lover was still paying attention and up to speed before continuing. "In truth, we were just a bunch of little thugs. But, it was enough to get the attention of a rival gang. Morgan Von Sebra, or just Sabre as some people knew her became my enemy. Me the Lung Clan were on the rise and getting a little close to her territory. Sebra was crazy chick. Coming from a rich family can do that I guess. Give you so much power you think you're a above the law. Amos told me that." Noah explained in a somber tone. "She was obsessed with violence and this was a good excuse as any to spill blood for her. So we clashed for a while, until Sebra started getting annoyed with stalemates. But, that wasn't what put me on her death list. In one of the brawls, Sebra's girlfriend was killed. She suffered a severe concussion that lead to her eventual death. Sebra took this as an act of war and put all the blame on me, swearing to hunt me down. So I declared a showdown to settle things once and for all. I was so stupid. At sundown, our posses met in warehouse on the edge of town. I brought a gang. Sebra brought an army."
Noah sighed. His eyes seemed dim and hopeless as he remembered the night. "Then, he came." The wards eye brightened. "Amos came from nowhere, like some avenger of the night. We all might have died if not for him butting in. He came in and beat everyone Sebra's thugs to a pulp. It was like a scene from a kung fu movie. I knew karate at the time, but Amos seemed to know everything. He whooped all of their asses letting us get a chance to get out alive. I was an ungrateful idiot though and thought I could take him on. I called him out for taking my fight, even though I should have known it would have been a death sentence without him. After getting my butt handed to me, I think h took pity on me. Amos offered to train me. I said no at first, but as the old man walked away, I reconsidered. From there, I disappeared from the gang world and wandered the actual world with Amos, learning everything he had to teach me." Noah took a deep breath, signifying he had finished his story. "And that's about everything about me, apart from some misadventures in the Phillipines and the rest of southeast Asia." The little witch was at her limit at this point. She pressed a little closer to Jack to look deep into his eyes, probably making him extremely uncomfortable. "Weeeelllll?" Trixie inquired, hardly restraining her excitement with a whisper. "Are we going to go see Aunt Yvonne now or not?" To be fair, Jack was still on the phone. Her excitement could have used to some curbing. Noah was usually the one to settle the little witch down when she became overly enthused.

Rose was patient and let him talked before making any more comments. When he had his say the woman smiled. "Come on there has to be more. Like what happened for the both of you to start disagreeing with each other, what about when you met Trixie, or your girlfriend." She teased him a bit. She wanted to know more, even if she didn't want to push him too much. Jack sighed. "Yes auntie. Yes ma'am." Jack continued as he put a finger to his hips to tell her to quiet down a bit. "Okay. See you, bye." The boy responded s he hung up his phone. He turned to the little witch. "She said it's fine. We can go over now if you want?"

Noah smiled appreciatively when Rose expressed how she wanted to know more, almost like the ward's stories were entertaining. It was a nice feeling. "Well when I met my girlfriend, I couldn't believe how lucky I had gotten." The ward teased back before wanting to get serious again. "No, but Amos and I, it wasn't so much as what happened. We've just always been like that. Always arguing and giving each other a tough time. Yeah, he's an a**, but that seems to just be around me. Everyone else says he's a real gentleman and crap like that. Hard to believe." The red clad ward leaned back in the couch and relaxed. It felt kind of nice to finally tell someone his story. To finally get it off his chest. In the back of his mind, Noah knew it was temporary, but it was still relieving to have done and out of the way. Trixie instantly hushed herself with an embarrassed blush when Jack mimed a shush to her. The moment was fleeting, however, as the second the Vega sibling hung up his phone, the little witch was back to being a giddy a school girl. "Yes!" Trixie exclaimed, once again intruding in the boy's personal bubble. "Let's go right now! Oh! Should we bring Noah or should he stay here with Rose?" The little witch backed away from the boy to think.

Rose smiled as she got to learn more about her lover. The woman moved over a bit as he sat down on the couch and once he was comfortable she grabbed his hand and squeezed and rubbed it. "When did you meet Trixie, where does her and your story come together?" She asked him with a grin. Jack froze as Trixie started to invade his bubble again. "Why would we need Rose or Noah? We don't have to even go outside to get to Aunt Yvonne's house." The boy commented. All he needed was his enchanted teleporter. His aunt didn't live in this town, instead she lived deeper into the magical world.
