THEY ENJOYED a quick dinner courtesy of Miss Carmen. Drake hadn't felt very hungry though, something he suspected was the result of getting scared senseless. No matter what he thought of, revenge being the most prominent idea floating around in that human-head of his, he just couldn't find the appetite. A glare from Ivan kept him from pushing the plate in front of him away. So, remembering his high society manners, he chewed and swallowed if only to show thanks to his host.

He held his tongue resolutely throughout the meal, letting Ivan answer whatever questions came their way. Even if he had the energy to attend the party, he wouldn't have gone. It wasn't even a matter of him being tired, or fearing someone would see him in this wretched state. For once, he didn't want people to notice him and there was no way he was redying his hair.

"Ah, there is one thing I've forgotten to mention," Ivan said, choosing to ignore how Drake had fallen into a stupor again. He seemed to be prodding his food with a knife and a longing to stab something. "In my haste to secure Drake's release, I've left our lodging arrangements unfinished. It'll take me a few hours to get that settled again, but I doubt I'll be able to find business with the celebrations in full swing. What I mean to say is... I hope you'll --if you'd be so kind --to let me, us, stay in your home? Just for a night or two. We'll pay you for your troubles."

After this, Ivan secretly hoped Miss Carmen would leave quickly with Reina. There were some things he needed to discuss with Drake. Alone.

As Tyler continued to rock uncertainly on his high perch, he suddenly heard a commotion below. He stared down at the source of the arsenal of sounds being produced below him. Raising an eyebrow, Tyler observed the individual approach the palace. What were they smoking? Whatever it was, he wanted some. Who...? Then, he was struck by an idea!

"Hey, a crazy person!! I'll jus' slip in behind 'em, and the stupid bastards won' even look at me beside that one."

He scrambled down the side of the building, trying his best not to dirty his clothes further. Surely they wouldn't stand out too much. He raced to catch up to this crackheaded character, trying to arrive at the same time, yet not be associated with the likes of her. Oh no. He was just a respectable citizen, attending the party like everyone...Suddenly a young man, dressed in fine clothes, stuck out a foot at Tyler when he had nearly caught up and was beginning to slow down. Too late, he tried to avoid his inevitable fall. He failed. Running as fast as he was, Tyler flew straight at the strange girl in front of him, crashing into her legs and bringing them both crashing to the ground, amid a crowd of onlookers. Some were curious, some indignant, but most simply laughed at the fool who has so stunningly embaressed himself.

Seyla immediately screeched at the impact on her legs.
What crazy madman has positioned himself upon my legs? Ge'toff my figure and apologize directly!

She tried to turn around to get a better look at the offensive monster, but to no avail. All she saw was his feet. Therefore, she resorted to kicking at whatever was smothering her feet.

"I say, you have no manners!"said she once again. Injustice! Criminal! In the very own palace of the Viceroy! And what were they doing? Chuckling at her misery of being trampled on by some person of the male gender. Imbeciles!

Troa looked over at Eve for a moment, but decided to let her have some space. Looking in the other direction at the commotion, he lit a smoke and walked over. Pushing his way through the small crowd that had formed, he knelt next to the two. "You guys alright?" He asked, keeping his smoke in his mouth, and offering them each a hand to help them up. Hearing one of the people in the crowd mutter something about how the common people should not be here. Troa looked over and gave the man a small smile. "Common people or not, this is a party to celebrate the opening of a city. Last I checked, this is a public event. And I'm pretty sure these, "common people" you speak of will probably have to work for your company, the one you told me you were so proud of finally getting off the ground." He said simply, his smile was simple and calm yet his tone held some malice that shut the man up quickly.

Tyler was stunned slightly upon their joint impact on the ground, and lay there, winded for a moment, before becoming fully aware of the girl he was squishing accidentally. The crazy one. That he was now associated with. s**t. He almost laughed as she called him a madman. Someones perception of reality was skewed. A man leaned over him, reaching for him, or offering help perhaps. Tyler didn't hear what he said. Smacking the mans hand out of the way he scrambled to his feet, gibbering out a panicked excuse.

"I'm allowed here as much as you! Don't stop me! I don't know her, I was gunna leave anyway! Calm down! I'm sorry, okay?!"

He noticed the girl was still prone on the floor and was torn between bolting and helping her up and apologizing, crazy or no. Whatever else he was, Tyler hated being rude without cause. Sighing and calming himself, he took a deep breath, and, ignoring the men and women still chuckling around him, offered his own arm to the woman on the ground, face only slightly less red than a moment before. As he did so, Tyler turned sheepishly to the man he had also rudely reacted to.

"Uh. Yea. Well. I shouldn't've...I mean it wasn' right to...what I'm saying is, I didn'...I am sorry." He muttered at his feet

Seyla was instantly relieved to have the pressure lifted from her vital regions.
"You are a delusional and sick man! I imprecate you to the deepest depths of Mother Terra's bowels! Good day to you, swine!" she shouted at him as she got up by herself. Once she was on her feet, she stood with a spinning flourish, glaring with chin turned upwards at both men.

Now they were begging for their illustrious parades to be rained upon, what with their rabid confabulation and intolerable manners. All she needed was a drizzle. A light cloud covering, just enough to strike fear in the mighty Sol.

"Naaah noh naaahh... aaaahhh", she started to chant in a gravelly voice. Her eyes rolled back in their sockets turned towards the sky, her arms splayed wide as her fingers summoned water vapor to the palace. Large winds started blowing in the town as she manipulated barometric pressures and temperatures to her will, bending the currents to her plans, as in far off towns it became sunny, all following their call. It would only be another half hour... Seyla could manage. Right? Yeah... right...

Tyler started and leapt back a pace when the girl sprang to her feet violently. Turning red again, he cleared his throat and crossed his arms in a manly manner. He leaned back further still though, cringing, as a volley of insults was rained upon his head. She began to have some kind of spasm, sounding like she was choking on her tongue or..or something. And her eyes went totally around! Gross. He glanced at the guy beside him for help, but he didn't seem to be watching Tyler. As she didn't appear to be moving anytime soon, he took the example of the last time he had offered her help, and backed away slowly. When she did not react, Tyler turned around and walked away quickly, hoping not to attract any more attention. A light breeze teased around his ankles, fluttering the dresses of the women around him. He wondered if there was a storm coming.

Inside the palace proper, the air was warmer and buzzing with talk. Tyler gaped around himself like a farmboy. He had never seen such a blatantly wealthy place. He drooled over the fine vases set in one room, wondering how much they would go for on the street. He shook himself and walked away. Idiot, you don't need the money anyway. Not worth getting those guards on your back. Tyler instead made his way towards the infinitely more valuable commodity- the buffét. He looked around guiltily, wondering if this was really allowed, but other people seemed to have done it. He grabbed a plate and, hesitating once more, began shoveling food onto his plate. There was stuff that looked more like some kind of mushed up squirrel and some...grass? He took what looked vaguely edible and scurried off to an empty table in a corner to eat his feast of feasts.

Troa watched with a small smile on his face, sighing as he got some food as well and walked over to Tyler. "Mind if I join you?" He asked as he stopped next to him. "They got some good drinks here if I can interest you." He said, picking up a passing glass of brandy for himself.

HE HAD been staring at the phone long after Michael had hung up, wondering if by some strange chance his future accomplice would let him in on the latest plan. It was highly unlikely. All things considered, if Michael hadn't deemed him worthy of the information five minutes ago, he certainly wasn't any more worthy now. Which led him to question why he was still holding the little silver phone, ogling it like some love struck fool. Right. The glowy buttons. He always loved the glowy buttons.

With great reluctance he pocketed the device, running his hand through his blonde hair, amazed at how the gel stayed where he wanted it to stay even with all his fussing, and went over his mental to-do list. First he fixed his golden cravat (because he was cool enough to wear one in the era of ties), moving to straighten his sleeves and, in the same breath, check the shine on his gold cufflinks. He went on to meticulously inspect his white coat and white pants for any offending specks of dirt. Finding none, he ran his tongue over his teeth, spun on his toes, and clacked the heels of his white boots.

Somehow he managed to make something otherwise ridiculously gaudy into something astoundingly fashionable.

He made his way through the lower levels of the Palace, a purpose putting a spring in his step. The people parted for him easily enough, resuming their light gossiping once he was a respectable distance away. Their movement created ripples in the crowd, bending around him like water does to stone. Oh yeah. He would enjoy this.

Arriving at the front entrance, he stared into the mess of onlookers surrounding what appeared to be a young lady. Or at least, his pager said it was a young lady. He couldn't really tell from the strange noises she seemed to be emitting.

Clearing his throat, he spoke his in most authoritative, Viceroy voice. "Excuse me, Miss. It would appear that your wondrous display has attracted the attention of many of us. You are, by all means, free to continue, but might I show you to a lovely room within the Palace? I would hate to see such a beautiful lady as yourself be harmed by those unruly miscreants about."

Estelle had finally made it to the new city.

Granted she wasn't on an assignment, but it couldn't hurt to establish herself within the city. Meaning, she needed to find the one named Michael. But first things were first, she needed to go to the capital.

The Train had disposed her near the Viceroy's Palace, which towered above the buildings accompanying it. Estelle took a moment to process the environment around her. The surrounding vegetation could help her if she called upon them. The water pouring from the fountain could be used as well. Unfortunately, that was all that could be readily available if she had a confrontation. Estelle continued into the building.

Once inside, she came to a quick halt by one of the guardsmen.

"State your business."

"I'm new here and would like to establish myself as a citizen," she answered calmly. The guard nodded.

"Down the hall on your left, it's the fourth door on the right."

Estelle nodded her thanks and continued to the direction the guard indicated.

Carmen whipped up a quick dinner, though no one seemed too enthusiastic about the food, least of all Drake. She didn't mind though, the only reason she was making him eat was so he would recover some of his strength. Everyone ate quickly and without much discussion, Carmen was fine with that too. She smiled as Ivan fumbled over his words, trying to ask if they could stay the night. When he finally got his request out Carmen was already nodding her head. "Of course you can stay. I don't think Drake should be out and about too much anyway. He can have my bed, Ivan I believe the couch folds out into an extra bed. I would offer you the guest bedroom, but Reina got there first." Getting to her feet she cleared the table of everyone's dirty dishes and dumped them in the sink, no time for cleaning tonight, she'd do it tomorrow morning. Such a domestic task, something she wasn't used to at all. She had never had to clean before, whens he worked for the government. Pushing those thoughts aside she excused herself so that she could change before the party. Ducking into her room she stepped over the bloody towels and bucket of hot water she'd used to clean up Drake and flung open the doors to her dresser. She wasn't entirely sure what they were supposed to be wearing to this most special of occasions. Certainly not the stained dress she was wearing now, one of the down sides of being a doctor. Letting the purple dress fall to the floor she riffled through her other clothes, still completely unsure as to what exactly she was looking for. Carmen had plenty of dresses in her wardrobe, she was a sucker for them. She hardly ever wore pants, probably something to do with the whole three years of her childhood when her mother had cut her hair short and everyone thought she was a boy. Subconsciously she was still making up for that. Finally deciding on something Carmen pulled the dress off the hanger and held it up in front of the mirror on the inside door of the dresser. It would have to do. Slipping it on she darted to the bathroom to figure out something to do with her hair. Even though it wasn't entirely a black tie event, Carmen felt the need to dress up. Moving as quickly as possibly she pulled her hair into an elegant spiral bun, smoothing the top and making sure it wouldn't fall out of place. She quickly touched up her make-up and was done. Now to get Reina and go. Carmen grabbed a pair black pumps from the bathroom floor before making her way back to the kitchen. The dress she picked was a simple strapless gown, the same shade of blue as her eyes. It hugged her body until the hips where it flared into a skirt that ended just above her knees. Carmen slipped on the pumps and held out her hand to Reina. "Ready to go? We'll be back...frankly I don't know when, but feel free to help yourself to anything you need." Carmen took Reina's hand and headed for the front door, stopping by the front closet to grab a shawl to cover her shoulders. "Bye!" she called to the two boys before ducking out the front door. "C'mon Reina, we don't want to be late." Carmen smiled brightly at the girl before hustling them down the street towards the Viceroy palace.

IF HE could describe his expression at that very moment with words, he would have come up with something along the lines of <********> with a dash of why-does-it-always-happen-to-me. It seemed that misfortune loved men of great stature.

He did his best ignoring her drenching sarcasm, forcing his face to remain pleasant. "No, not death"--though at this point he wished it weren't so--"Miss. I think you have me confused with someone who could give such an order, but alas I am only the Viceroy." A humourless smile crinkled his cheeks as he used the entirety of his will power not to do something rash and stupid like his younger self might have done.

"Well, follow me, please." He turned his back to her as swiftly as he had came, marching through the crowd at a decent pace, praying to Tera the girl would follow. Along the way he passed another vaguely striking young lady. He would have overlooked her completely if it weren't for the blue highlights in her hair. Now, what was it that Michael said? Blue hair is the first surefire sign of insanity, based on a Circle of Capitals 496 CE census.

"I suppose it's my job now to deal with these people, now that I'm Viceroy and all," he muttered under his breath, adding an elegant flourish of an eye roll. "Wonderful."

Tyler raised an eyebrow at the lout who had dropped uninvited to his table, but smoothed his cold expression when he saw it was the guy who had been victim to his foolishness earlier. The least he could do was be civil. In any case, he reminded himself that he wasn't looking for trouble. Then again, thats what he said every time. It wasn't his fault trouble seemed to look for him. Tyler eyed the alchohol regretfully. He hated to turn down a drink, but who knew when he would have to bail, and under what circumstances. He needed a clear head, and whatever people said about holding their drinks, theres always some level of awareness loss.

"I'll hafta take a pass on the beer, myself. I, uh, don't drink. Yeah." Tyler was glad he had his dinner as an excuse to escape the scrutiny of his companion. His muttered explanation was hardly convincing. Hoping the man was either thick or tactful enough not to say anything, he jumped to another subject.

"So..y'know who the psycho back there was? Cause I was not with her. Dun have a clue as ta who she was. Nope."

Troa smirked as he sat down. "Wish I didn't drink sometimes, it get's expensive after a while. At least it's free here." He added with a smirk. "I don't know who that was either, we got pretty much the entire city here. I'm sure she won't be the only crazy's we'll be meetin durrin our time in the city." He said with a small smile, taking a sip of his drink before taking a bite of food. "When did you move here?" He asked, glancing up at him.

I've talked to enough military and business men, might as well get a broad view of the... "workplace." He thought to himself as he chewed his food.
