Mmm, Studio Ghibli. Mononoke Hime remains one of my favorite movies. That, and My Neighbor Totoro because it's so damn cute. XD I just love the staggering amount of detail in the art of Miyazaki's movies. So beautiful. *__*

Never seen Totoro, but I want to >> Mom has a Totoro bento box...

*hugs danadien* Electric Kool-Aid Merly: are you an au pair? or exchange student? or what? best of luck with stuff... Today way my second day working at this little company in the middle of Paris that does English courses for French business people. So far I've made tons of spiral notebooks, run around labeling plugs in the walls, and consolidated a bunch of addresses that I will shortly be visiting and making maps of... and on Thursday I get my teaching orientation bit too, for when I need to play substitute. I'm living with this cool older lady about three blocks from the Centre Pompidou. The Louve is within walking distance. If I go down to the Seine I can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. It's pretty cool. And the half-yearly sales start tomorrow! So I prolly won't be on then... It's kind of fun walking everywhere, actually. I'll be in shape for college ^^ Anyway, tonight I really should be posting, so help me deities XD is that how you spell deities? There's no English spellchecker on this computer...

A big "YAY" for Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki! I've started collecting all of Miyazaki's works. I've got the most of the main ones, but I can't seem to find Princess Mononoke in any stores (and I don't trust internet shopping when it comes to cross-language things).
Yes, "deities" is spelled correctly.

Wow! Merly that sounds fantastic!! I hope you have uber crazy amounts of fun!
Studio Ghibli:
All time fav is probably Nausicaa, then Castle in the Sky, Mononoke Hime, Spirited Away, Totoro (I've seen it too many times).
I want to see Pom Poko too...

Yoder, if you find Mononoke Hime in any American store or website, buy it. The English dub is VERY good, though of course the subbed is excellent too. I've always been picky about dubs, but they did a great job. Any DVD you buy here will have both.

.___. Yes. Princess Mononoke was the crown jewel of Studio Ghibli. I had My Neighbor Torotoro, 'cept it's only in english and I hate Dakota Fanning's voice -STTAAABBB-
I love Spirited Away because of so many individual scenes that have abstract secondary meanings :3 :3 :3 Also how delicately they place every motion the 10-year old character: Chihiro

Meh, Mononoke was confusing to me. The girl had the least to do with any part of the plot of anybody in the entire movie.
And my first anime was Lensman. A crappy one to be sure, but accompanied by Robot Carnival, and Vampire Hunter D . . . a worthy beginning.

I liked the first one, but Bloodlust has to be my favorite.
I started my anime bit off of Tenchi Muyo and Ranma 1/2... and whatever else we watched over at a friends' house. Those two are the only ones I remember.. especially sitting on the floor with my cousins watching Ranma run around, and whatnot....
Moved to DBZ when I got older... that and whatever they were playing on Toonami. Stayed up for Adult Swim, and got more from that... things moved on from there.

I started with Sailor Moon (yes yes, I know, everyone does it seems), Record of Lodoss War TV series, and Princess Mononoke. XD At least, I think. It was a while ago, and it's kinda hard to remember exactly which ones I started with. I know Escaflowne was in there somewhere, too, but I think that was a little later.
Wow, Vampire Hunter D. I remember only vague images from that. Never saw Bloodwhatsit.
