It's easy to beat that. You can play as a level 2 Novice on a real server. xd
And the reason being that 255 is a common cap is because in hexidecimal, it uses three sets of numbers to calculate things. the first set is for small numbers, and it can count up to 255. It is possible for maxes to be higher using a different set of numbers, but it takes more memory and time to compile it, among other complications. However, I do not believe eAthena uses Hexidecimal, so the 255 level cap wouldn't apply. It's just a traditional number.

Father Latour I play VanRO and kick buttocks with a level 226 High Priest who is wearing angel wings! Moose?vanRO sucks. What kind of server allows free PVP in n00b areas and pretty much everywhere else?

Yami Zet heart as of July 24th, 2005 I officially have a girlfriend! And this is where you all make some suprised comment about me using the heart emoticon. Yami, we all know you're just a caring individual that likes to act like a bad a**. Fenrir SongMoon It's easy to beat that. You can play as a level 2 Novice on a real server. xd And the reason being that 255 is a common cap is because in hexidecimal, it uses three sets of numbers to calculate things. the first set is for small numbers, and it can count up to 255. However, I do not believe eAthena uses Hexidecimal, so the 255 level cap wouldn't apply. It's just a traditional number. You are correct in terms of storage, at least. As a GM(90) I can look at the server files, so I know that numbers are stored in decimal. Here's a scary thought for you, your passwords are NOT encrypted, and any text editor with access to the list of accounts can give a hacker all the passwords in the system. But odds are that hacker wouldn't have access much longer anyways. Also, never ever piss off a GM. They can make you drop all your items, then warp you away from them in the blink of an eye. They can also disable all of your skills and items with just a single command, or lock you in jail with 200 baphos. Also, I only have 2 characters that are level 255. The others I had to level up with exp from monsters, and they're level 99

lol, I heard that one of our admins caught some guy hacking and locked him in jail with lots of baphos (cause really, after 10 baphos, it doesn't matter how many you get locked in there with when you can't kill them) and dropped all his items and changed him to a 1/1 novice and set the jail as his spawn point.
I heard his deathcount went up really fast.
And a good general rule of thumb, is just not to piss of anyone in general. blaugh 3nodding

There's a reason a person gets warped to a town, most often prontera, when they're unjailed. When you are jailed, your respawn point is set inside the jail, and all methods of teleportation (except GM commands) are blocked. This way, no matter what, you can't get out until you're unjailed or warped out by a GM.

*reads over replies* You guys are saying exact opposite of everyone else...everyone around here, including my future roommate (who's going to be a sophomore) says that I'll have practically no time.
I'll stay a member of gaia and this guild until I figure out how much time I WILLL have, but I can't promise I'll be able to post much. Gotta figure out what all I'm taking, pack, figureout what to do with the stuff I'm NOT taking, etc.

Best I can tell, VanRO has no lvl limit (at least I've seen people running around with levels at 380 and above...). But poor VanRO isn't doing so hot. VanPriest just doesn't have the time he used to anymore. sad
But RO takes too much time anyway! I prefer a good ol' Super Nintendo RPG whenever I'm bored. wink Curently I'm enjoying Digital Devil Saga 2 (Shin Megami Tensei 2). Good stuffs there. cool

Good stuffs there. cool Super Nintendo are awesome, but whenever I play one, I play until I'm bored with it, then it's back to the computer. But the thing is, Super Nintendo just isn't as fun as Guild Wars, RO, FFXI, or any other online RPG, because Super Nintendo games aren't against other humans that can't hit you if you piss 'em off by winning.
