Not too badly. We got to watch a tree under which my boyfriend's mom was parked fall the exact opposite way. Power was only down for a day, and we did some great outside cooking! LOTS of trees are down, limbs down, and a couple of buildings damaged, but not nearly as bad as farther south.
How's life with you?

I've barely even looked at the news for weeks. I just was reading today about hurricane Rite. I can't believe that Louisiana got hit by another strong one. One article was saying that when New Orleans got hit with the edge of Rita one of the levies flooded AGAIN. Man, I can't believe what you guys are having to suffer through this hurricane season.

Nemone One article was saying that when New Orleans got hit with the edge of Rita one of the levies flooded AGAIN. They hadn't gotten them totally fixed. Three to five inches of rain would have done it, even if it was a normal shower. We're expecting the next one (whose name will be Stan) to hit somewhere around Layfaette, which is between the two....bad things come in threes, ya know! If it does that, and if it's a 4 or 5 when it hits, and if it takes the same shaped path as the other two, my home town will get a 2 or 1. That's all guessing, though, as Stan hasn't formed yet. But we've got two months left in the season.

Man, I can't believe that. It's ironic this whole thing is stirring up the politicians as well. I guess nobody wants to be blamed for what people are calling a lack of preparation. But really, that's why it's called a NATURAL disaster. There's only so much preparation anyone could do. Though I do think it would be nice if ALL of our national guard was at home, standing by to take care of this stuff. Someone on the news was saying there weren't enough national guard/military people available to take care of things when Katrina struck.
